My unsolicited advice is move to the other side of the country or to a city you've been dreaming of that's more than 3 hours away, and then dont answer your phone for a few years :p

Or, yanno, possibly moving out will make the relationship improve since she wont be present to give you instructions on what to do on every free hour!

My family is scattered to every edge of Australia by our own design. 16+ years of living with someone is usually enough! We all get along well when we get together, but living together causes various problems. I think it's a pretty ok way to be.

Yeah I plan to move to DC after I finish my degrees which should be far enough away that it won't be a problem but she also hounded me when I was living in Spain for four months so who knows.

What'll happen if when you move out and just stop answering so often? Not like she can do anything about it if once you're out and paying for everything yourself. You won't always have time to do what she wants or answer her.

Candidly I wouldn't put it past her to either drive to DC to check on me or call the police but we'll see.

Yeah there's no way you should have to put up with that your entire life. It's like having a set bedtime and home by this time set kinda thing. You're out doing things to better your life and career. She shouldn't have to tell you this or that, yet she thinks she has full say so in YOUR choices.

I'd say let her call the police. Too many false alarms and they'll penalize her. She'd be forced to stop.

Yeah, I remember seeing that happen to a guy who was live streaming. Not pretty.

I have a feeling because of these incidents, one of these days things may change and callers may have to be validated before they can be taken seriously. Can't just go and have people get SWATTED over petty reasons unless the caller can be held liable if it's a false claim.

What would she even think or say if I did go to meet you one of these days? That's assuming we did a day you had time. Would I need to have a way to defend myself?

Yeah there needs to be some kind of precaution for police calls like that for sure
