Unfortunately it's not just given to us. Taking those days off will burn away vacation time. Which is why I don't do it. You still have to pay for how long you have them regardless of whether they're being used.

Yeah my dad has mostly done contract work. I think has favorite for the pay and benefits was out in New Mexico. It paid almost $90 with perdium the first year (they paid for his place to stay, lunch, a flight back home once every 30 days). So he was racking in the money for that first year. This included Friday’s, Saturday’s, and Sunday’s off and holidays. So the plant was closed down that whole week and some other long weekends.

I sure wish they would let me take some of these particular days off. Some days they limit me from taking off. Like they outright refuse certain days sadly. I sure wish I could take the week after Christmas off. They won’t even allow that sadly.
