Palila had just tucked herself into the corner of a top bunk bed when everyones Poketch's went off due to a message from Sophie. A 7am start to the day, and it was already nearly 2am. Palila sighed and rolled over, facing the wall. She didn't want to see or hear what everyone else was getting up to- though Marina and Amy were both very quiet. She fell asleep with her hands in her jacket pocket, nestled among the Pokeballs.

At around 7 the next morning, Palila hung her head over the edge of her bunk bed, peeking out at people entering the room. There was a laptop set up, and Sophie started speaking as the last of us entered the room and shut the door. Palila wasn't even out of bed yet. She was so tired. She wasn't ready for a lecture from Sophie after only having 5 hours sleep.

As Sophie explained things, Palila pursed her grit her teeth together.
She felt very bitter at the fact that NOW, when Sophie had finally deemed it necessary, it was easy to get trainer ID's. Matthias and Neith clearly hadn't "kindly provided means for Palila to check in to the Pokemon Centers" back yesterday when she had been in tears about it. She had been told it was impossible, yet today, here they were, with a handful of cards that they could put any old information on.
Palila fumed about this while Sophie explained her plans to keep her own fake name a secret, and how they should check in as groups so cards were scanned less.
When Sophie explained that she would ask Dash about accessing Pokemon without leaving a digital trail, Palila huffed.
She fiddled with her Poketch, forwarding Dash's message on to Sophie.

Al, Dash sent me this yesterday. "The PC system automatically assigns PC storage to trainers and creates links between their Pokedex and the storage box when their first Pokemon is sent to the PC or they log in for the first time. I placed the Eevee in an unallocated box and changed the program of that box to allocate it to you when the PC detects your poketch nearby, like it does with a pokedex."
So, maybe you want to make a new trainer ID every time you access a box, get a new Pokedex, or reprogram the poketch to access unallocated boxes only.

She rolled back over on her bed, staring at the ceiling.
Changing her hair and clothes was one thing, and a thing she actually did fairly often. Changing her name was different. It was like severing a connection to her family- severing a way for anyone from her home to find her. She didn't want to do that, at all.
She wanted to go home.
Internally, she wondered to herself if she even needed a fake ID. She didn't have an old ID to hide, she wasn't really on any footage, she didn't admit to being from another world to the scary cannon-arm man, she didn't commit any acts against team Galactic. It was possible that the main reason she was in danger was because she was hanging around Sophie and the gang.

That said, it was apparently easier to get a fake ID than it was to get a real one in this ridiculous dimension.

Palila slid down the ladder out of bed, pulling on her shoes and then taking a turn at the computer.
She put in all her own real details, as much as possible.
Palila Rae, from: Alola, emergency contact: her mother, never accessed the system yet, journey type: gyms, card created today right now.
The only lie she put on there was that it was authorized by Professor Rowan- which, she told herself, it actually was. He was intending to create her an ID card anyway.

As she walked out into the hallway she sent Dash a message.

She also sent Professor Rowan a message.
I'm not going to meet you soon. Thanks for the card. I had no idea you could mail things to Jubilife so quickly. -R
She left it vague, meaning it could have been a stray get well card. She didn't know how ditzy this professor was but the one in Alola had taken a fair few thunderpunches to the skull.

Palila idled around in the lobby, noticing Renny turn and go back past her towards the room Neith and the computer were in.
"Whats up with him?" Palila asked anyone in the group who was standing in the lobby. She found Rennys emotions really hard to gauge from his face- and was still worried about him being alone with other people.

Neith was dragged from her dreams by Binary pecking her, reminding her that they had an early start today.
Neith was still groggy, but woke right up upon fining a reply from Dash. Bi’s body had been repaired enough to be stored in the PC system? She’d have to check that out.

She quickly set up the laptop, so it would just be a quick copy/paste job for the new cards, with only moments to spare before the rest of the group came filing in.

She waited until everyone else was done before entering her own info onto the card. She’d wracked her brain, and finally chosen a name. Her online handle back in her own world had been Anubis, often shortened to Ann. And no-one could link it back to her here, so that would be her new name.

She filled in the other info. Ann Wolfe, from Oreburgh city. Started her journey two weeks ago, and had visited the Oreburgh pokecenter multiple times before now, but nowhere else yet.
Contact info was tricky, eventually she just chose a number at random, and hoped it would never need to be used.

After everyone else had finished, she packed up the laptop, and was about to head to the PC to check Bi’s body when there was a knock at the door.

She was surprised to see Renny, and even more so once he started talking about leaving.

When Renny looked up She grasped his hand and locked eyes with him.
“I already forgive you. You only did what you thought was best.
You shouldn’t have shown the footage without asking us first, but if you hadn’t then we’d all be dead now. We only got away because of you and team Galactic showed up…”

Neith gestured to the laptop. “Even now, you’re the reason we can make these new identities.”

She looked back up at Renny, tears welling up.

“I- I don’t want you to leave.”

She barely noticed Binary walked over and looked up at Renny with sad acceptance. Neith knew deep down that short of rewriting Sophie’s personality there was nothing she could do to make Renny stay.

After a few moments, a thought stuck her. “Wait here.”

Neith ran over to her bed and pulled out the string of turquoise beads that had previously adorned her hair.

She held them momentarily. She had received them from her grandmother so long ago. She’d worn them every day, so much that they had practically become a part of her.
She handed them to Renny.
“Take these. So you don’t forget us.”

She took a deep breath then exhaled, trying to put on a brave face.

“I understand why you have to leave. Sophie would never go along with your plans, and you’d be in just as much danger with us as alone… You’re going to the police, aren’t you? With the footage you got?”

She wiped away the tears on her sleeve.
“I’ll see you again. We’ll sort this out and find a way home for all of us. Just… Stay safe. Maybe you’ll be the one to save us again.” She tried to smile, but felt it must have looked horribly forced.
“Goodbye Renny”

Neith reached out and grabbed Rennys hand. This was a first for him. He was unsure what to do but he found himself drawn to the moment. Neith began to speak expressing her sadness. It was hard for Renny to process his emotion. She pulled away to get something

“Take these. So you don’t forget us.”
She said handing over beads. Renny looked at the beads and felt something strange.


A wave of emotion started to hit him and he took a step back. He looked up at her for a moment in her eyes.

"Thank you.." He said feeling welling up sadness

“I understand why you have to leave. Sophie would never go along with your plans, and you’d be in just as much danger with us as alone… You’re going to the police, aren’t you? With the footage you got?” Neith asked

Renny looked down running his fingers over the beads in his hand.
"I tried yesterday. The footage I got was distorted. Its almost as if the guy with the gun arm has a scrambler... Either that or he is radiating some kind of magnetic energy field.." He said pausing

He looked at Neith taking a step closer to her he reached out wiping a tear off her face.


“I’ll see you again. We’ll sort this out and find a way home for all of us. Just… Stay safe. Maybe you’ll be the one to save us again.” She tried to smile, but felt it must have looked horribly forced.
“Goodbye Renny”


Renny felt sad, he wanted to stay in that moment. He wanted to say what he felt but couldn't find the words. He couldnt process this feeling so he found it easier to do what he was comfortable with.

"I dont want to g.." He paused

" Take care of yourself. I havent seen the others you should let them know. Based on our past interactions Im not sure they will care. I should go now. The news, the police or whomever will help me. I will find a way to bring all of this into the light. I must go now." He said looking at Arnny

" Good luck." He said letting himself out and making his way downstairs.

He removed any pokemon he had in storage.

Marina had been woken up by the sudden surge of trainers into her room, and she quickly rubbed her eyes to make sure she was at least somewhat coherent before the instructions for new trainer cards were given. New names...? This was all so intense...And she had only just arrived. She had never thought that she would be facing this kind of danger. But...Then again, she hadn't thought she was going to get sucked through a wormhole into a completely different world, either. She supposed if something as crazy as that could happen, anything could.

But she had to change her name. She had to become a completely different person to fit in with this new, crazy world she had been dropped into. She'd always be Marina, but she supposed that all of this was a necessity.

When it was her turn, she quickly began to type new information into the computer. There wasn't much information she needed to change, but it definitely took her a moment. Thinking up a new name on the spot was difficult...As was filling in false information of a place she hardly knew. Still, with the other's help, she was able to and eventually had come up with a new alias.

Mia Allen.

Simple, easy enough to remember, and just a bit different from her real name so people wouldn't really ask questions. Stepping back, she let the others do what they would before making her way down to the lobby to wait for everyone else. Luna trotted around her feet, nuzzling against her legs and almost tripping her up. Marina carefully lifted the eevee into her arms and nuzzled into her soft fur for a moment. She heard Palia's question, and perked up a little bit but shrugged. She had barely gotten to know anyone in this group at all.

"Not sure...Hope everything is alright."

Amy never slept that night. She tried a couple times, but after climbing in and out of bed twice, she decided it wasn’t worth disturbing the others anymore and just left the room for the rest of the night. She dozed a little on the couches in the lobby after she let Apollo use Sweet Scent, but it wasn’t for more than half an hour at best. So she went to the kitchen and brewed some coffee, returning to her room just in time to see the chaos enfolding about the IDs. She nodded her head sleepily. Yeah okay, this made sense.

Nursing the coffee, Amy mulled over the details in her head. It didn’t take her long to come up with a new name. Alexander “Alex” Irsa. Sure it was typically a guy’s name, but given the only real reason she had it in mind was because she and Ian had discussed before what names they’d have if they were actually guys, it made sense. She filled out the rest of the information as if she were from Johto and living in Snowpoint City. Surely that’d be enough. Rubbing her eyes as she finished, Amy moved to the window and continued to nurse the copy.

She noticed some of the tension in the room as Renny left and heard Palila’s question but opted to not answer. She still felt exhausted. She wasn’t sure how she felt about him leaving anymore anyway. Amy wasn't originally a fan of Renny, but his rescuing her earned him a lot of respect. She had been hoping to learn about him more but it is what it is. Maybe one day.

Renny left, and with that, a burden was simultaneously lifted but also placed. He may not be a risk to us any more, but what if something happened to him because I gave him that ultimatum.

I was pulled from my thoughts by my Poketch buzzing. Earlier it had been a message from Palila about Dash and what he said to her about the PC system. I noticed the others were also buzzing, even Amy's X-Transceiver

This time it was Dash himself.

"You have all been burned. Destroy your ID cards and get out of Jubilife. I have erased the records of you using the PC and the Pokemon Center, but that will only hide you for so long. I have transferred your Pokemon from the PC to another server, and will program that so you can access them without raising flags. But get out of Jubilife now!"

Before we could even ask what had happened, the TV in the foyer flicked from whatever Jubilife-TV morning talk show was on to breaking news.

"World-renowned Professor, James Rowan has been arrested on fraud, conspiracy, weapons and terrorism charges.

In the early hours of this morning, eight people were found dead on Route 203, most of them burnt beyond recognition, however one recognizable as a child, and the other seven, identified as Team Galactic, based on evidence found in the abandoned vehicle nearby which had still been running. It is believed that this is a vigilante attack, and whilst it is not believed Professor Rowan himself lead the attack, the search of his laboratory resulted in the discovery of experimental weapons technology, and falsified identification papers, given to the trainers believed to have attacked Team Galactic at Lake Verity, back on the 6th of September.

Additionally, Sinnoh Police have issued warrants for the arrest of the following trainers, on suspicion of terrorism and the attack on Route 203 resulting in eight deaths. Anybody who sees these trainers is warned to not approach them, but instead to call Sinnoh Police immediately."

I looked in horror as our pictures, taken from CCTV in Orebourgh and Jubilife appeared on the screen. Even Nathan was shown.

The professor had faked all our surnames, but our picture was still there, and even with us looking different, I was still scared.

Two other men are believed to be traveling with the group, however the false identification papers did not hold details of the individuals.

"We have to leave, now." I said quietly, as I walked over to my bag, trying not to look too suspicious.

I left the lab at 6am that morning morning, making my way to Jubilife. The professor told me he would attempt to leave Sandgem that afternoon. Once we were out of the town border, and on Route 202, I let Gwaine out of his Pokeball.

"We are there?" Gwaine asked telepathically, "The same world she is?"

"We are. We're in Sinnoh." I explained, "The professor here, the one who gives out starter Pokemon, found her and a bunch of others. The idiot sent them on some quest to a Lake on the other side of Sinnoh."

"Why?"

"Because apparently they appeared right before some terrorist group made an attack on a lake nearby to capture a Legendary Pokemon, and he reckons that the Legendary Pokemon at this other lake might help them get home." I explained irritably, "He said they're in Jubilife City, and planning on heading north and was going to meet them in a few days. They were attacked by some psycho. I am hoping I will catch up to her first."

Gwaine went silent as something got both our attention. A blue light in the distance.

"Get behind me!" Gwaine shouted as I felt a telepathic bump hit my wrist. It was enough to activate the Keystone in my watch, causing Gwaine to Mega Evolve, in a blinding light.

There was a deafening bang as the air in front of him seemed to explode, being held back by a light blue telekinetic barrier.


"What the f*** was that?!" I shouted, as I drew my sword from my back. Granted against whatever did that, it would hardly be effective.

There was a draconic roar from the sky as a green Charizard dove down, flying straight towards Gwaine. It was a Mega Charizard, but must have been shiny. However walking towards me was a figure who seemed familiar. I let out Magnitude, who began to engage the Mega Charizard, despite significant disadvantage. I had to trust he could handle himself. I needed Gwaine to protect us from the weapon this guy used, and using any more Pokemon could be a problem if he has more like this.

The man walked towards us and held up his weapon, launching another attack. This time, Gwaine was prepared. A ball of blue energy seemed discharge from the weapon. The Gallade's eyes glowed, as a light blue barrier appeared around the projectile, and quickly lifting it slightly, changing its course, causing it to directly hit the Mega Charizard, which screamed in pain. The man stopped for a second, seemingly surprised at this, before raising his arm and calling back his Pokemon. The Charizard stopped its attack on Magnitude, who then flew to my side. I called the Flygon back but kept Gwaine. The man however kept walking towards us, this time not firing the weapon. Once he was closer, I recognized him. He looked different since I had last seen him, but I still recognized him.

"Brettles?! What the f***?!" I shouted, about to gesture to the weapon in his hand, before noticing it wasn't there. Instead his whole arm seemed to be metal.

"So it is you." he muttered, "You're the one who betrayed him and left him to die."

This wasn't Brettles. This was a Brettles, and one who held a grudge against me for cutting down Brettles when he tried to stop me from killing Deoxys.

Before I could say anything else, his metal hand began to morph into some sort of weapon, which he then pointed towards me.

"Wait for my signal." I heard Gwaine say telepathically.

"For that, you will di-" He began to say, as a telekinetic barrier encased his arm, very quickly lifting it into the air as to not keep us in the firing line, before it compressed, causing the Brettles to yell in pain, as the weapon was slightly crushed. Taking that as the signal, I rushed forward past him, slicing my blade at the flesh behind his kneecap. I dashed forward, as Gwaine released his telekinetic grip on me, before teleporting in front of me, and teleporting the pair of us far away.

"What the f*** was that about?" I said loudly, "Is he the one who attacked Sophie?"

"Unless that is normal in this world, I think so..."

"We need to find her and figure out how to get out of here..." I said, as we made our way towards Jubilife, with a much quicker pace...

Amy nearly dropped her cup of coffee in shock when her X-Transceiver buzzed. She squinted at it when she realized it was Dash. Oh great, he had managed to hack her X-Transceiver. Might as well have just taken the Poketch from the start. Cut out the middle man! She groaned a little before reading the message. She had a feeling she knew what it meant as she scanned the message, but the television flickering to an emergency news alert only confirmed it.

Amy was still too tired to really care. They had new identities and new appearances, but she still understood the need for urgency. Finishing the cup of coffee she had been nursing, Amy placed it with the other nearby cups and grabbed one of the disposable cups to take another one to go. Snatching one of the bagels as well, she grabbed her bag and nodded to Sophie. “Let’s go then,” she said with a yawn, “no time to waste.”

Neith sat back on her bed and hugged Fennel tightly. Renny was really gone. She sat there for a few minutes, silently letting her emotion overwhelm her. Eventually, she regained enough composure to continue. Before Renny had come, she had been going to sort out her PC boxes. Keeping active now was important.

Heading back to the main rooms, she went over and withdrew Binary’s pokeball from the PC, looking at it thoughtfully. She wanted to transfer Binary back straight away, but it would take a while to fully transfer her without Dash’s tech, and they needed to get going quickly.
She linked a box to her new ID and placed Bi’s pokeball back inside, along with her other pokemon from her old box.

There. One more tie to before removed. She looked around, trying to spot Rae, not recognising her instantly due to her new style.

Neith tried to compose herself as she approached Rae. When she spoke, hopefully she sounded normal, though it came out sounding more like forced cheerfulness.
“Hey, Rae, I was wondering if you could help.”
She held up Binary.
“Binary doesn’t have a pokeball, and she kinda sticks out as it is.
I saw you have paints and such, and I was wondering if you could help make her look more like a regular porygon?”
Binary huffed indignantly at this, but didn’t object any further.

As they painted Neith was silent. Trying to focus her mind on the brush strokes, but she kept returning to Renny.

In the end, she spoke, in a slightly hoarse voice.
“Renny’s gone.”

Without looking up, looking like she was barely holding in tears she continued.

“He came to say goodbye to me, and asked me to tell the rest of you.”
Her voice was flat and nearly emotionless, with a slight waver to it that belied the emotions underneath.

Palila looked across at Marina, who was the only one to respond to her question about Renny.
"Hey, what was your name again?" She asked- quite honestly because she had forgotten the introduction of the day before, and because people might have new names all over again.
"I dunno if I said, I'm Rae."

Neith approached Palila, and she didn't smile. Overall, it was not a friendly or upbeat kind of morning (though probably for different reasons for both girls). Palila wondered why Neith had asked her specifically- she had never done any painting in front of the group, and as far as she knew, nobody had seen her graffiti forays.
"Yeah, we can paint your robot chicken" Palila agreed, and they both headed to the bathroom to do just that- painting in the lobby was a bad idea, and Palila was a little paranoid about spilling paint in their room. She took out the red and blues that she used the night before, but there was only a small amount left.
Sophie hadn't incinerated her cut hair like Palila had instructed, so there was still a pile of blonde hair on the floor. Palila grabbed some into a brush and began painting away, silently. Today her heart felt harder. As they finished, they headed back out into the main lobby with everyone else out there.

Neith announced that Renny was gone, with a hoarse voice.
Palila looked across at her, eyes blank.
"He's not /gone/ you dumb pyukumuku, he's not dead. I saw him a minute ago."
Then it clicked. "Oh, he left?" Palila rolled her eyes, hardness in her heart showing in her response.
"You've only known that creep for two days anyway, and all he ever did was upset you guys. He's probably better off without this group, and you're better off without him." From her standpoint, that was how it it appeared.

When her poketch buzzed, Palila read the notice from Dash. Her mouth formed a hard line as she read, and she took the trainer card out from her pocket. Dash was not the most legal of people, but he did seem to know what was going on. She unceremoniously snapped her trainer card in half.

Some of the group were watching the TV news, and Palila looked up as well, to find that Professor Rowan was being arrested on an array of charges. The most important of which, in Palilas mind, was the experimental weapons technology.
"He wasn't trustworthy at all." Palila stated, under her breath. She glanced over at Sophie, who had been the Professors main mouthpiece. "He was in with the cannon guy..." She almost whispered, incredulous.
"Right, yeah, lets go." She agreed, making a mental note to ditch every piece of technology she had been given by the Professor as soon as possible, and to ditch Sophie too.
Renny made the right choice, ****. I have got to get away from these guys.
