Tony was knocked back by the explosion. Upon regaining enough of his balance, he grabbed his first aid kit and rushed to Sophie’s side. He looked at Palila for a split second as he made his way over. “My pokemon aren’t anywhere near as powerful as the rest of yours. I’ll just slow you down if I try to fight with you.” He knelt down next to Sophie. “Plus I’m the team doctor, and Sophie’s hurt, so I have to focus on that.” he added, before addressing the injured party. “Let me see the damage.” he said as gently as he could.

Matthias gave up and looked at the galactic goon. "OK, you found me fair and square. I'll even wave the $100 dollar fee for the battle." he then spoke loudly for all the crowd to hear. "I challenge you to a Pokemon Battle! If you are brave enough to accept!"

Renny backed away slowly and watch the tv fade away. As he walked through the city he noticed some people staring at him.. The looks became slightly uncomfortable. He looked around an noticed that some place were re showing the clip. It dawned on him then.
"Damn we may have comprised are ability to film freely. If people know us they may try to get involved at a crucial moment." He said to Arrny

His focus turned to getting a little of privacy back. First he got a hair cut. His hair was now shorter. He then bought a cool top hat and a pair of military grabe boots, a black tshirt and new gloves with little punk spikes on them. Surly no one would notice him like this.

His next goal was to figure out how he could possibly get a hold of more information on the legends. It then dawned on him the best way might be finding Team Galactic. They had successfully tracked one already. Logic dictates they know something others dont.
"Excuse me citizen have you seen Team Galactic?" He asked to people as he walked. Finally a lady who was moving away from what happend with matthias bumped into him.

"Hey ... your the guy on tv! Your friend is in trouble! " she said warning him.

Renny was confused but followed the crowd of on lookers. This was a huge public scene in the making.

"Stop!" He said looking at the grunts.

As they walked for a long time, Amy managed to collect the outfit sizes of everyone who wanted a change of clothes. That’d be her first task once they got to the city. Had to make use of the fact that not only did Renny think she was nonexistent but also the distraction Palila pulled to keep her face off social media. Hopefully that’s be a good combination for success.

Then the two newbies appeared. Since they didn’t directly engage with her, Amy hung back and let Palila and Kinnie handle it. It seemed like a good thing that the boy didn’t recognize her. It was validation she had avoided the cameras to keep her cover. Still, she had to agree with Kinnie. They needed to ensure they were who they said they were.

“Palila,” Amy said, “the difference here is we saw you come out of the portal, so we know you’re who you say you are. But we don’t know if Dash bugged those poketchs and sold the information to Team Galactic or something. Or if the devices have been hacked in general. There’s a number of ways Team Galactic could’ve figured out our plan and could be using stealth to attack us.” She paused then mumbled, “Though I do think we need to double check on Cody too for that very same reason.”

Then the explosion. Amy hit the deck immediately as panic sent another dose of adrenaline through her. But this time, she wasn’t feeling confident. No, she was feeling terrified. They really were just like Team Flare!

Amy saw Palila start to trying and fight back and immediately sent out Martini. “Smokescreen go!” The cyndaquik sent off a large cloud of smoke to lower visibility in the area and buy them some time hopefully while they could come up with a plan of counterattack.

Two complete strangers approached. On of them spoke to Sophie. Said that Sophie would be expecting them? Rowan must have told her about them back when she called. But why hadn’t Sophie informed the rest of the group?

A messy looking kid who seemed out of breath hastily barged his way into the group. Woah, Deju Vu.
Neith leaned back slightly as the pointed to each of them in turn, naming them from the TV interview, before jumping away again.

This guy she could understand.
“Yup, I’m Neith. Though I don’t believe I caught you name?”

Then Kinnie stepped forwards, demanding to see ID on these newcomers.

“Uhh, Kinnie, I don’t think we need to go that far. Plus, Sophie seemed to expect them. If they wanted to trick us,it seems a bit overkill.
She turned to Amy.
“And we got the Poketchs long before the interview, so in someone had already hacked them, we would have been targeted way sooner.”


Any conversation was cut off by an explosion. Sophie dragged the new girl to the ground at the last moment, and called to take cover.

Don’t panic. Don’t panic. Just breath.

Neith quickly scooped up Binary and ducked behind a nearby rock. And tried to control her breathing. She wouldn’t just sit around this time. Reaching into her bag, she drew out Escuteon’s pokeball.

“Go protect Sophie and Tony.” She commanded, tossing it towards them. The Grotle hit the ground running and bounded over to form a wall between Sophie and whatever the attack had come from.

"An ID?" Marina had looked confused at that, beginning to fumble in her bag for her Trainer Card that she had managed to get. She would have presented it too, had she not been tackled to the ground only a moment later. Her head hit the dirt and she was dazed for a few moments after Sophie had slammed into her, the wind having been knocked from her lungs for a moment.

When she regained her composure, she rolled onto her stomach and crawled behind the same rock that Sophie had, looking around with fear in her eyes. Oh gosh...What was she going to do? What was she supposed to do in a situation like this? She had just gotten here and now they were being attacked! And by what? Oh, she just wanted to get home. Looking around frantically, she sought something to pull her back down to earth, to ground her.

The burn.

Sophie was injured.

"Hold on! Hold on a second, I can help with that!" She said quickly, shielding her eyes for a moment as thick smoke spread over the area. She searched her bag for a pokeball and quickly pressed its release, Kai appearing with a quiet "Prin...!" just beside the two of them. She watched as the Grotle approached, seeming to be a bit wary of the new pokemon before Marina caught her attention with a small tap on the beak.

"Kai, cool water please. Right here! It's going to hurt for a minute Miss Sophie, but this'll help with the burning, I promise." Marina did her best to be careful, and the Prinplup did as told. A soft stream of cool water began to seep into the burn, hopefully alleviating some pain as it began to numb the skin "Oh gosh...I can wrap you up but I don't know if we have time...!!"

Tony rushed over, as Palila and Amy let a Pokemon out each, with Amy's using smokescreen to protect us. Marina quickly let out her Prinplup to put cold water on my burn, Tony tried to work on.

I winced in pain as the water touched the burn, but also felt sweet relief. But even then, we were still in a dangerous situation. If we don't find a way out, the burn will be the last of of my worries.

"Thank you." I said quietly, trying to not show how much this was hurting.

I heard the sound of a Pokeball opening echo across the route, and then a familiar sounding, draconian roar. Whoever had attacked us was letting out a Pokemon.

I could hear it flying above us, as it roared again, before there was a loud thud, as it dropped to the ground in the space between us. I held my breath as I heard it sniff the air around it, before roaring again. It beat its wings, causing it to rise into the air, and disperse the smokescreen revealing itself and us.

It was a Charizard, however pitch black. But that wasn't all that was odd about it. Dad's Charizard Mushu stood an inch or two taller than me. This one was at least seven foot.

It roared again as there was a flash of light. Mega Evolution.

As Matthias calls out for help, the civilians run away. They want no part in whatever this Team Galactic have planned.

The grunt holding him doesn't release his grip, and instead laughs.

"You think this is some kids television show, where people solve their problems through a friendly battle?" the grunt asks, "It doesn't work like that. You and I are gonna have a little chat about where the rest of your group is."

At that moment, Matthias' Poketch buzzes with a message from Sophie.


"We are heading to Jubilife. Once you are able to, send us a message so we can regroup. Stay safe."

The grunt feels the vibration, and lifts Matthias' wrist up to read the message.

"So they're on Route 203." The grunt says to one of the others, "Let's get them?"

"There is a squad looking for them in Jubilife?" the other replies, "Should we just send them to get them."

"And let them get the credit?" the first grunt responds, "No way, they're a bunch of kids and we have the jump on them. Let's get them ourselves."

Before any more can be said, the conversation is interrupted by a newcomer.


"There is no need for this. Which one of you is in charge? I have some questions..." Renny says to the group of thugs.

"Oh this is too easy. Grab-" The first one begins, before being cut off.

"Wait a minute." Says the second one, "This is the kid they interviewed. I wanna hear what questions he has... Don't you boys?"

The rest of the group begin to laugh, and await Renny's questions.

"There's no need to thank me, I was just doing what I do b--..." The roar cut off the rest of Marina's words, and she stared wide-eyed from behind the rock as the massive draconic form of the Charizard landed with a heavy thud.

Shielding her eyes from the light of it's Mega Evolution, Marina gaped as the beast reared up before them. Oh...She had never seen something so large, and so deadly looking. What was she supposed to do now? This wasn't like the small battles she had been in before. This thing wasn't looking to have a friendly one on one brawl. She was pretty sure that if it got the chance, it would roast every single one of them.

"W-what do we do...?" Marina asked quietly as she looked back to her Prinplup, fear very clear in her eyes as she did her best to remain at least somewhat quiet. Kai was no match for this thing, not alone...And she was pretty sure that both Arc and Eider wouldn't stand much of a chance either.

Trying her best to swallow back her fear, Marina clutched her two remaining pokeballs in her hand, looking to Sophie "I...I'll back you all up if I can, if our plan is to fight off this thing."

As Neith hid the area was slowly covered in smoke. Hopefully protection via an ally and not part of the bad guys plan.
A deep roar split the air. Whatever it was, this thing sounded big.
Then the shape of a massive charizard loomed out, wing beats dispersing the smokescreen.

What was it after? Was this a pokemon from team galactic? Neith’s mind raced. This was big, no doubts about it. But it was just one charizard. And there were enough water pokemon here. If everyone worked together-

And then the blue light surrounded it, and Neith’s hopes were crushed. Mega Evolution. Even a regular sized mega-charizard could mop the floor with all of them. And this seven foot tall monstrosity looked as if it wanted nothing more than to watch the world burn.

There’s no way we can take this thing.

The only way to stop a mega evolution would be to take out the trainer. But whoever it was was obviously armed, and knew where they were.

We have to run.
But I can’t leave the others to face this alone.
