Palilas' Poketch vibrated almost instantly with a reply from Dash. She couldn't help but smile a little. Now, this was the kind of ally she needed- not that virtually absent professor who had never spoken to her personally. She stopped to type out a message, getting the hang of this Poketch thing, but still unable to multitask while using it.

Nice. Hope to hear back soon. Kinda on the run from a plasma-cannon-arm wielding maniac rn. You'd like his tech. Ttyl D. - Rae

It was hard to stay formal while using abbreviations and technology like that. Hopefully Dash wasn't some grumpy grey-haired old man or woman who would get offended easily. She shrugged, and continued on her journey to the Pokecentre.

Once there, she didn't look around for the rest of her companions, but went straight up to the PC again. The nurse might have raised an eyebrow about Palila being back so soon, but the Pokecentres were often visited multiple times a day by trainers doing expeditions into the grass, so she probably didn't notice. Also! Palila had a style and hair change, so perhaps it wasn't obvious it was the same girl at all!

She timidly tapped at the computer, which opened up a blank box. No details, nothing in it except a grey eevee. She quickly pulled it out and into her party, placing a pokeball beside the PC for it to deposit into. A shimmering light popped out from the side of the PC and into the Pokeball, and she pocketed it. By the weight of the Pokeball she could tell something was in it.

Palila moved her hands around in her new jacket pocket, realizing she actually had a full team of Pokemon in her possession- for the first time in her life. She frowned, thinking that it was a bit strange to not have room for anyone else to join the team. Maybe she would leave the strange grey eevee from Dash behind in the PC when they left town.
She cast her eyes around the room, finally looking to see if anyone else from the team had made it in.
There was a girl there writing in a journal. Wait a minute.
    Jeans- check
    Flannelette shirt - check
    Ginger hair- check
Palila rolled her eyes. So much for trying to go undercover and look different.

"Nice beanie." Palila remarked dryly, sitting down beside Amy.

As Matthias made his way over, I quickly sent off a text to Amy, hoping she was in the Wifi of the Pokemon Center. ( @Noblejanobii)

"Once it's quietened down, send me a text, and we will try and head over.

    Sophie."

"Neith, you may wanna hear this as well." I explained, as Matthias asked who I wanted something taken from. ( @Shruikan)

"Dash was able to give us some Pokemon by hacking the trainer card network and finding our PC boxes. If he could do that, I am worried that Team Galactic may have someone who could find us that way." I explained, "New appearances aren't going to cut it. We need new identities."

I pulled out my trainer card. It wasn't anything special. Just a white card with a number printed on the bottom left, and my name on a label that looked like it came from a $20 office label maker. It's real value is the data on it. The Pokemon Center staff didn't even look twice at it. We just held it against a machine, and it would register.

"Remember what Roark said to Palila? That the Pokemon Center give these out?" I asked, "Professor Rowan got ours for us with very short notice, so my guess is they keep blank cards on site, and are able to program them there. I would also say that their cards have some sort of watermark that ones from a computer store wouldn't have."

    I looked at Matthias.

"I want you to get a dozen or two of these." I explained, "Just make sure that you check the numbers. If the Pokemon centers stocks of these are in order, take the last ones, that way they won't notice them missing, and think they just ran out."

I turned to Neith, handing her my trainer card.

"Does the computer Renny gave you have the capability to read and write these?" I asked, "I want you to try and find what information is on these cards. Have a look at any you can get your hands on, just to be safe, and try and program some fake IDs for us when Matthias gets the cards."

Amy glanced up as Palila sat down. She closed her journal and shrugged. “Thanks. A friend of mine back home wears them a lot but my hair is usually too long to pull it off. But now it’s not so I figured why not.” Amy looked Palila over quickly and smiled a little. Still in her own style yet different. “You look nice too,” she remarked. “Bit more drastic of an appearance change than I obviously went for but you pull it off quite well. Suits your style.”

Amy glanced down at her X-Transceiver as a text from Sophie buzzed in. She glanced down at it and texted back, “Will do.” Casting a look over the center, Amy sighed and pulled out the room key. She held it out to Palila. “Here’s the key to the room if you want to head on. I’m keeping an eye on the lobby for a bit for the others.”

Amy kept writing in her journal for a bit as the hours passed. Then she switched to drawing. It was Marowak March after all. After doodling several Marowaks, Amy switched to scrolling through her photos on her X-Transceiver. She sighed as she looked at the pictures. Ian, Brent, Hugo, Theresa, Karl, Olive, everyone. She missed them greatly. She wanted to go home.

Eventually the center closed. Once the lobby cleared out, Amy texted Sophie, indicating they were in the clear and that she’d let them in once they arrived at the center.

    ----------------------------------

Marina had been trying to process everything that happened as she accompanied half the group to Jubilife. The city seemed rather nice, and had the events of the day not transpired the way they did, she would have wanted to explore. It almost felt like Goldenrod, with all of its large buildings. The girl stuck close with the group as they went shopping, thankful that she wasn't on any of the broadcasts. That would have been a whole other stress on her. During their time out on the town, she gathered a few essential medical supplies from the pokemart...Nothing that would be looked at strangely. Just some burn cream and bandages. Once they were safer, she could try to find something a bit more substantial.

When they finally made their way back to the pokemon center, Marina hurriedly healed her pokemon. She wanted to check over them physically, but would wait until she was in her room to do that. No use drawing more attention to themselves by getting far too fussy over pokemon she had just healed at a center. Thankfully, things seemed to work here about the same way they did in Jhoto. Maybe the PCs would work too...

Quietly, she made her way over when it wasn't in use, booting it up. Well, at least it worked in a way she was familiar with. An empty box greeted her. Or that's what she thought at first. What was that? Squinting at the small, pixilated image of a pokemon, she selected it and quickly placed a pokeball to received the bright light that bounce from one of the PC's ports. When the pokeball returned to its original size, she felt its weight for a moment before looking around. She wanted to meet whatever this was, but not here in public. Hurrying back upstairs to one of the rooms they had rented, Marina sat down in the corner and quickly checked on all of her old pokemon. They seemed fine. Somewhat shaken from the experience, but otherwise they were in good shape. Marina gave them each a few loving scratches before releasing the pokemon she had found in the PC. The small, silver quadruped appeared in front of her in a flash of light, and she blinked a few times. Wait a minute...She had seen these pokemon before.

"Oh, you're an eevee!" She said, a smile appearing on her face for the first time since their encounter on Route 203. She reached out, gently scratching the small pokemon under the chin, comforted by the feel of its soft fur "Well, welcome to the team...I'll try to keep you safe. Now what to name you..."

She played quietly with the small pokemon, taking care not to disturb the rest of the party that had also retired for the night, trying to get an idea of the Eevee's personality.

    "I think...I'll call you Luna."

The panic was starting to subside, leaving a numbness in it’s place. Nothing seemed real. This was all just a dream. She hoped it was true, even though she knew that this was reality.

Neith watched from a distance as Sophie called Rowan. She picked up that the kids name was William, and she committed it to memory.

Making the call obviously hit Sophie hard. At times like this Amy was usually around to give her emotional support. But there was practically no-one else. The only ones who might conceivably comfort Sophie were unconscious or otherwise engaged.

Just as Neith was building up the nerve to talk to her, she was interrupted by a message on her Poketch.

"Dash Corp has been working on it's cloning technology, and as a result, has left me with eight Eevee who need a home. I have transferred them to your PC systems (I was able to find those who I haven't met by hacking the Trainer Card Scanner and PC logins in the Pokemon Centers. I won't tell if you won't tell.)

Heh, she was starting to like this guy more and more. That level of hacking was no easy feat.
However, just giving them the Eevees? She wasn’t sure that was the best idea. With us, they’d simply be in more danger…

Sophie called over her and Matthias, discussing getting new trainer cards.

Neith hadn’t thought about it, but what Sophie said made sense. If Dash could access their PC boxes, who knows what team Galactic could do?

Sophie handed Neith her trainer card and asked if her laptop had the capabilities to edit them.

Neith smiled weakly. “Well, if it doesn’t I’m sure Bi can help.”

Neith started back toward where the Porygon rested at the roots of a large oak, then hesitated a moment, turning back to Amy. “I-I know we haven’t always agreed in the past, but if you need to talk, or if there’s any way I can help…”
    Neith trailed off awkwardly…

Back on the PC Neith was glad to have something to occupy her mind. She’d been in panic mode for several hours, and the logical computer systems seemed to sooth her.

Luckily it turned out the laptop was fitted with an NFC reader. So no need to hook up Binary this time. Not that Neith was even sure how to do that, or if her new body was even compatible with these cables.

Scanning in the card, the first thing she found was that there was very little protection on it, which was a bit alarming. Were the ID’s everywhere this insecure?

She quickly found that the ID consisted a single .txt file containing all the info on the card.

Opening the file, it was essentially just the standard info. Name, address, contact, etc. Neith briefly wondered how much of the info on the card was real. Obviously not the address, unless Sophie had really lived in Sinnoh and had been lying until now.
And Rowan’s first name was James?

The cards themselves seemed to be the main storage, just like that video game with the figures that she’d played back home. The Pokecenters just wrote directly to the cards.
Which meant that they were safe from too much hacking long distance at least. Anything online was just a backup, and anything changed there wouldn’t affect the cards.

Neith closed the file and scanned her own card. Yup, exactly the same format. Apparently she was from Sunnyshore city, and her father’s name is Bruce.

Speaking of wrong names, with fake ids they’d have to go under alias’
Crap, thinking up fake names was not one of her strong points.

    She looked up at Sophie.
“I can definitely do this, I just need the cards and a name. I assume we’ll be using fake names on these?” She added.

"So two dozen, blank trainer ID cards. I'll see what I can do. Let me think this through."

Matthias sat down to think with and started drawing in the dirt. The main shape was clearly the outline of a Pokemon Center. But the other shapes and symbols, could have meant anything to casual passersby.

"Wartortle!" said instinct, picking up a stick and adding wartortle shape to the drawing and an arrow pointing to the back of the center.

"Yeah but who will be lookout and getaway?"Matthias asked.

"Monferno! Mon Mon Monferno!" Kid piped in.

"That could work, but you need to be inconspicuous! This only works if no-one knows we have been there!

Matthias grabbed a pile of leaves and placed them in the center of the Pokemon center drawing. "These are our targets. We need to find a way to get them out without anyone noticing..."

The leaves he had placed were gone. He hadn't seen them go what had happened.

"Rak rak rak" laughed a quiet voice from behind Matthias.

Matthias turned to see Trapeze holding the leaves he had just placed. The little spinarak was a natural at stealthy retrievals it seemed.

"The only cameras in the Pokemon Center Lobby are here and here..." Matthias said, remembering his last visit to Jubilife.

"OK, so the plan is Instinct, Kid and I get up in the middle of the night and make our way to the vending machine to get food. Kid will pretend to notice this camera and climb up to look at it, blocking its vision. Make sure to look really cute and innocent. That will block the second camera from seeing Trapeze. Trapeze when you see the opportunity you grab the cards and get them to me."

"All right Sophie we have a plan!"

"Thanks Neith." I replied sincerely, "I get I haven't always been too pleasant when things went wrong but I am trying to figure all this out."

Matthias and Neith both got to work and before too long both had a plan. I was impressed. By this time tomorrow we would be untraceable.

It was a few hours before Amy sent me a message to let us know we were clear. We didn't light a fire because the smoke could give us away. Instead we were mostly in the dark, with the only lights being from the devices between the group members. At 11:15pm, I finally got the all clear.

"Pokemon Center is empty." I explained, "Let's head there now and try to not draw attention to ourselves."

    *********************
It was almost midnight when we got to the Pokemon Center. I called Amy who let us in. Her and Drake showed us to the rooms they booked where we were able to leave our belongings.

There was a self serve healing machine which was able to be used by those who needed it in the lobby, and a bag of clothes that Amy had sourced. From there, I found myself a pair of blue skinny jeans, a pair of black boots and a singlet and long sleeve top. But this wasn't going to be enough.

I looked deeper in the bag, finding something that may tip the scales. Hair dye. I looked through the colors eventually settling on a deep, dark red.

I compiled enough cash to cover the clothes and took it to Amy, before asking a question.

"You mentioned being good with clothes. What about hair?" I asked, holding up the box of hair dye, "I'm thinking just below shoulder length and a bit of this and I may be a bit harder to recognize. If you don't mind staying up a little longer."

Palila didn't really know what to say in response to Amy. Having a normal conversation with her was not something that happened often, and she hadn't really meant her comment as a compliment. She looked down at herself when Amy mentioned it was drastic yet suited her style, and nearly had her glasses fall off her face. Having glasses might get annoying! She noted to herself.

"Sure, I'll take a key and go to the room for a bit. See you later on."

Once in the bunkroom she did almost exactly the same thing as Neith was doing just one room over- checking all her pokemon, and giving them a scratch on the head. She was surprised at how OK they were, and figured it might have been because none of them actually SAW the death happen. They might not have even known it occurred at all.
She decided not to tell them or talk about it.

She doodled in her journal a little, feeling emotionally drained and tired. When nobody else had come into the room by 11.30pm, Palila shuffled out into the hallways to buy a snack from the vending machine. And, of course, to see what was going on out there. Surely they didn't have to wait until it was so late to come in! Maybe something had gone wrong. Her mind tried to go into overdrive imagining all sorts of horrible scenerios, but she was too tired so it just settled on a low level anxious feeling and blankness instead.

She stared across the entrance room and hung out silently next to Amy, munching another chocolate bar, until the rest of the group arrived. When Sophie turned to Amy with the bottle of hair dye and asked for help, Palila crumpled her candy wrapper and stuffed it into her own pocket, responding.
"Amy has never dyed her hair, Soph- she's a natural carrot. Me, on the other hand- I've put some chemicals into my hair that would poison a muk." She put out a hand. "So, I can do it for ya, if you're chill with that."

When Palila volunteered to help with the hair dye, I saw it as a good opportunity. This morning she wasn't too fond of me but maybe this could be a sign of change. Even if it is just indifference its better than disdain.

"Sure." I replied, "How are you with a pair of scissors?"

After waiting for hours we finally got to the pokemon center. The trainer Amy let everyone in. It appeared that even though had done nothing wrong we were now being shifted around like common criminals. This is didnt sit right with me but it didnt seem like I was apart of any of this anymore. As the others shuffled in. I stayed back. When the last of them was in and the door closed I was gone. We should have gone directly to police about this. If Sophie wasnt going to do it, I was. I did have footage clearing us of what ever the hell had just happened. Countless dead, including a younger teen and a mega man rip off running around blasting people to shreds! Oh and and a the biggest Tyrantrum I ever seen!!!

Renny talked to himself hidding out of veiw of the others taking his leave.

"Im not going to change my clothes or go into hiding." He said

" If that guy finds us it wont matter what we are wearing. He'll kill us." Renny looked down at Arnny

" Now then" he said leading the way through the dark streets to find the police station.
