Darci explained how her power was more psychic rather than physical, that made a little more sense to Brandon, but it was still beyond comprehension how she did it without Pokemon's help. Brandon opened his pack and rummaged around in it, trying to find the bottle of Tylenol he had put in his pack before he left for his journey. He found it and took 2 pills out of the bottle and gulped them down with some water.
After returning the bottle to his pack, he listened as Darci explained how she could get them safely into a nearby store to get some new clothes and also that she knew a stylist who could change their appearance and even give them some fake ids. Brandon wasn't really in the mood for shopping, but he knew they would have to change appearance since it seems even the 'President' of Kanto was after them now. So he agreed to come along with them to the store to get the change of clothes and appearance.
As they left the building they were in, Brandon didn't really trust the powers of Darci enough to keep him safe, so he decided to call Marshtomp out his ball for protection. He figured he was small enough not to attract attention, yet vigilant enough to spot an enemy a mile away. Once Marshtomp was released from his pokeball, he looked up at his trainer, then at the surrounding area wondering if there was a threat he was called out to defend against. Brandon assured him all was fine, but told him to keep a look out for threats. The water type nodded walked silently next to its trainer, scanning the area as he did so.
Once they reached the shop, Darci picked the lock (which Brandon found rather impressive) and they went inside to have a look around and grab new clothes. Brandon searched the racks looking for an outfit different from his current one. It wasn't easy as he had worn this outfit for at least a year or two. He spotted an Ace trainer outfit and knew it was the one for him. Ace trainers were a lot like him, they had balanced Pokemon teams and were cocky when they fought. It fit his personality and training style well.
Across the aisle from where he found the outfit, he found a rack full of hats. He knew that he would need a new hat as well, which was tough for him cause he LOVED this red hat he had. He has worn it since he was like 13. He found a blue hat on the rack, which he liked. He took his old hat off and stuffed it in his pack. He then put the new hat on and adjusted it to his size.
Next, it was off to the stylist. This part was the most uncomfortable for Brandon, he loved having long hair and cutting it felt like having a piece of his identity ripped away. He knew it had to be done though. When he got to the stylist's place, he was shown a few pictures of common haircuts that he could choose from, he chose one that looked the nicest to him and that was also a very short cut. It was almost like a flat top haircut, but without the 'flat' part.
Once the haircut was done, he looked himself in the mirror. The new cut seemed so weird to him, but he would get used to it. He put the blue hat back on his head and looked at Marshtomp for feedback on the new look. He said "How do I look buddy? Do I look good?" Marshtomp nodded his head in approval at the new look.
With the new look now complete, he made his way back to the building they had been staying at. He was still very tired and decided to lay down on one of the couches in the room. Marshtomp sat down on the floor in front of him, silently and vigilantly standing guard over his trainer. Brandon patted Marshtomp on the head and said good night to him, then fell fast asleep.
