Brandon woke up to the delicious smell of breakfast. He said good morning to Marshtomp, who was still sitting vigilantly by him. Then he walked to the table and started to shovel down the food. As he did, the group discussed the local gym.

Some Gym Leader named Sloane that he had never heard of. Apparently she was a very tough gym leader though., When Brandon heard it was a dark gym he wasn't too worried though. He had like 3 pokemon that were strong against Dark types, not even counting his strongest pokemon Skipper.

Meghan suggested they split up into teams, which they did. Brandon got teamed up with Meghan. Brandon grabbed his pack and they headed out.

As they did, Brandon decided to release Sparky and Skipper from their pokeballs. Brandon released Sparky first and introduced him to Marshtomp, who gave the little electric type a friendly smile and wave. Next Brandon let out Skipper. When Skipper came out of his ball and saw the Rotom flying around his trainer, he instinctively got protective and let out a growl at it. The little Rotom, frightened by the huge Charizard, hid behind Brandon.

Brandon held up a hand to Skipper and said "Skipper it's alright, he is on our side. His name is Sparky and he is the latest edition to our team, he hatched from the egg I was carrying". Skipper instantly backed down. When the Rotom slowly floated next to Brandon again, Skipper let out an apologetic "Char" and then welcomed it to the team.

Skipper then noticed his trainer's new look, he stared at Brandon curiously, studying the new look. Brandon chuckled and said "Yeah I know, I look different. But I kinda like it, it suites me don't ya think?" The Charizard nodded his head.

After that, Brandon instructed Skipper and Marsh to teach Sparky the defensive positions as he walked beside Meghan. As they walked, Meghan asked him about his black eye saying "Did you get that in the hospital? It got kind rough in there for all of us." Brandon chuckled a little "Yeah, but you shoulda seen the other guys. They discovered me trying to get our Pokemon back and were gonna try and stop me. I dealt with the original 3 pretty well, but then like 10 more showed up with stun sticks and did this" here he pointed to his black eye. "I was almost ready to pass out when Morty showed up and helped me".

He stopped to take a breath before answering her about the training session. Then he said "Yeah I am up for some training, my team is probably a bit rusty from not battling during the time we were there. I think they could use the practice..." here paused and looked at Skipper and Marshtomp "What you think guys, you up for some training?" the pokemon let out excited cries at the idea of being able to battle again finally. Brandon laughed and said "I'll take that as a yes then... Let's do it Meg."
