I came in like a wrecking ball...
I entered the gym, trying to not be cocky, but not expecting much of a challenge. Whilst I never beat Dad, I had years of practice against a much tougher opponent with much stronger Pokemon. And the gym system is highly flawed. The fact that they are all monotyped. One Pokemon has a disadvantage, they all do, and the typing is usually advertised. Nothing like battling another trainer, where you are mostly in the dark, and can't prepare a team.
When it was my turn, I decided to go for the harder challenge.

I managed to beat almost the entire gym on hard mode with a single Pokemon. Had Emperor been a little stronger he could have finished off that final Pokemon, but for now, he had done really well. I was curious to see what type the next gym would be and if it would pose more of a challenge? After the training with dad, how many badges did that equal? When would I be breaking a sweat?
