Pikachu-themed weddings arrive in Japan!

People often describe the day of their wedding as one of the most important days of their lives, so what could make the event even more special and memorable than a Pikachu with a veil and a top hat? In Japan, ESCRIT, a company specializing in wedding ceremonies, has joined forces with the Pokémon Company to offer official weddings based on the popular video game.
Guests at a Pokémon wedding can expect to see the happy couple accompanied by two giant Pikachus – one male and one female. Not only that, people will get to try some Pokémon-inspired wedding food, including some extravagant deserts.

There is also, most importantly, a Pokémon wedding cake. It’s decorated with Pokéball macaroons and even more images of Pikachu.

They’ve even decorated the wedding certificates with Pokémon!

Unfortunately, for now, these are a Japan exclusive phenomenon, but perhaps maybe in the future we’ll see more Pokémon themed weddings across the world. Would you have a Pokémon themed wedding if you could? Would you use the Pikachu theme or would you prefer to see another Pokémon theme on your special day?

Don't get me wrong, I really like the little flying squirrel dude, but I still think this kind of thing is over the top. Although I did go to a wedding and the reception was very Disney-themed because that kind of thing runs DEEP in that family's blood (their cake topper was Mickey and Minnie Mouse and they're nuts enough to go to Disney World every year in fact).

Still, if I were to arrange my own wedding, I'd likely go for something more on the fun, casual, and have a good memorable time side rather than the overly formal, lavish, and gaudy side, but that's something I'd need to discuss and work out with the wife-to-be, of course.

Nah yeah I get it. This is a bit over the top for me too, though I wouldn't mind a shaymin topper on my cake. I don't think I could do a whole pokemon themed wedding.

I would.....maybe, but I'd need a woman that follows the same passion with Pikachu I do. I can't go through it alone. Even then it'd be up to her as well.

Still this looks interesting. Japan always trying to make things more interesting when it comes ways to make marriage....interesting.
