Celadon City Gym: Sloane Jackson

Brandon was about have Skipper attack the Sableye when he remembered Beedrill had a type advantage. He called back Skipper at the last second and sent in Beedrill.

As Beedrill eyed up the Sableye, Brandon issued instructions to the bee Pokemon saying to it "Beedrill use Poison Jab!" Beedrill buzzed excitedly and flew full speed at the Sableye, stingers pointed at it.

The attack was success and the Sableye fainted after doing only more damage to Beedrill then he expected. Apparently he had forgotten that Ghost types had an advantage over poison types.

Brandon commended Beedrill on a job well done, then called him back to his Pokeball.

Next up to battle was Skipper, against an Alolan Muk. Brandon knew they were evenly matched typing wise, so he allowed Skipper to use whatever move he wanted to.

Skipper flapped his wings, getting above the Muk, then he released a wall of flames from his mouth, scorching the muk in flames as he circled him in the air.

The Muk had fought back well, however, it released several Sludge Bomb attacks which hit Skipper spot on each time. The attack injured Skipper significantly, but he had the upper hand thanks to being a higher level and his persistent flame attack paid off in the end. The muk fainted.

Skipper landed in front of his trainer, exhausted but willing to keep fighting if that was what Brandon wanted him to do. Brandon patted the Charizard on the back saying to him "Good job Skipper! You did well, you come back and sit next to me and rest, Swampert will take it from here!"

Skipper nodded and walked next to his trainer and sat down to catch his breath. Swampert walked over and took his place as Sloane sent out a Houndoom. Brandon could not believe his luck! The Houndoom would be at a massive type advantage against Swampert.

Brandon instructed Swampert to use Watergun. Swampert nodded, and launched a streak of water at the Houndoom, thoroughly soaking it and weakening it.

Though wet and injured, the Houndoom fought back valiantly, getting off a feint attack which hurt Swampert badly. Brandon knew it was time to finish the fight and he said to Swampert "OK Swampert... Finish it off with Mud Bomb!"

Swampert threw a ball of mud on the Houndoom, hitting it directly on it's head. The force was enough to knock out the Houndoom.

Swampert was swaying on his feet now, so Brandon commended him on a job well done and told him to come back and rest. The Swampert walked next to Skipper and sat down. The 2 Pokemon gave each other a high five and complimented each other on their fighting.

As Skipper and Swampert quietly talked to each other about their battle, Sloane had her confident looking Umbreon walk on to the battle field. Brandon looked at Parasect and said "Your up Parasect, let's finish this thing!'

Parasect quietly walked up to the Umbreon, who was staring him down and licking their paw confidently. Brandon told Parasect to use X-scissor on the dark type. Parasect immediately jumped on top of the Umbreon and starting slashing away at it with his pincers.

The Umbreon was at a slight type disadvantage, but it was a strong Pokemon who out leveled Parasect. It bit Parasect several times and launched a feint attack, which threw Parasect off of it. Both Pokemon were now badly injured and a move away from fainting. Parasect and the Umbreon both decided to use tackle to finish the battle. The Pokemon charged each other and collided head first, causing both of them to faint instantly.

It was a hard fought victory, but Brandon had come out on top, with all but 1 of his Pokemon having the health to fight another day. Brandon bowed at Sloane out of respect and said "It's been an honor to meet you! I hope me and my team impressed you here today."
