Figuring that you should go and ask a grass-type pokémon about anything they've seen or heard, you determine that Pinlock the ferrothorn is a good place to start. You manage to find her rather easily in the bazaar, standing by a cart filled to the brim with goods. A makeshift stall is attached to the side of the cart, where you assume she sells goods to those who pass through.

As you approach, she quickly spots you, and uses her three green vines tipped with spiky ovals as legs to prop up her hefty metallic body. She gives you a shallow bow, extending one of the vine-legs as if an open hand. "Welcome to Pin's Paraphernalia, young leafeon. Tell me, what haven't you ever done before that you wish you always had?" She gives you a thoughtful look as she waits for a response, but continues before you can reply. "Let me guess--skydive? Swim for hours without having to go up for air? Well, my friend, I have just about anything a pokémon like you could ever want." If a ferrothorn could smile, she is smiling.

You politely decline her offer and instead explain why you sought her out. However, halfway through your explanation, you get distracted by the strangest feeling. It's as if all of your happiest memories piled together at once and flooded your mind with their pure, light feelings. You feel yourself drawn toward the left-hand side of the cart, and as you hurry over to it, Pinlock follows.

"Hey now, I don't believe you were done talk..." She stops herself, realising what you're looking at: a white, round medallion that looks very, very old. "Ah, that's my prized item. I'm waiting for the right buyer for that one. Isn't it beaitful?"

You ask her if you can have it, but she laughs, then realises you're serious, and laughs again. She insists that it's a rare item and she cannot simply hand it over. She had not set a price yet, but it looked like a valuable piece of history that she planned to potentially bring to the town's priestess. You try to explain to her that you believe it's imperative for stopping the Stalkers, but she seems to doubt you, wondering how you, a single leafeon, could possibly stop the dark forces flooding the town.

It's then that you lock eyes with her and begin to tell her about the mission you have been sent on. You call on every persuasive technique you have, presenting yourself as professional, dedicated, and more than capable. The ferrothorn seems taken aback by your words as you continue, crafting an image of yourself that nobody could doubt. You tell her that you having this item is potentially the difference between this town being saved, or being completely wiped off the map--with the world to follow.

Pinlock the Ferrothorn is now COMPLIANT.

Upon hearing your lengthy spiel, Pinlock's demeanour changes quite significantly. She appears to take you more seriously, and you can even detect a hint of a smile in her eyes, like she's impressed. She rotates her large, silver body down a little bit.

"Very well. You've convinced me. I see that you possess the power of the silver tongue, just as I do." She uses one of her long, green vine-legs to reach into the cart she has nearby, and is quick to find the artefact she had been teasing. She directs the vine back to you, and places it in front of your paws. "You know, charming pokémon make good merchants." She gives you a knowing smile. "Think of me when you save the world, kid."

[Safeguard Seal] was added to the Team Inventory.

You thank her and leave with your new item, thankful that you were able to convince her in the end.

After your success with Pinlock, you're feeling rather confident, and make your way towards the miscellaneous guilds in the Guild Sector of town. It seems to be fairly lively, and as you begin your walk through the grounds, you take note of several guilds that were not listed on the map you were given: the Barking Brigade and the Painters' Guild. You spot various pokémon here as well, and figure that one extra leafeon around won't draw too much attention. You get to work, going through many of the different sectors. Most of them are fairly small, which gives you less to search per area.

Just outside the Anti-Hygiene Guild, you spot an odd-looking patch of grass amid mostly dirt. You go in closer, lowering your head to see if you can see anything from a different vantage point, when you suddenly feel your feet begin to give way. Instinctually you attempt to push yourself to the side.

Dodge Roll Attempt: 30% dodge rate. Rolling... result: 39! FAILED!

Your paw slips on the crumbling soil and you fall a number of feet before you're staked in the leg by one of the many pointed spikes jutting up from the bottom of the pit that just very unpleasantly greeted you. You cry out in pain, then notice that many of the other spikes got you as well, cutting into your skin at multiple points. Luckily, you weren't skewed on the spikes in ways that could have been much worse.

#Pitfall Spike Trap# 3 Health damage was added to the Team Records.

You stay there a moment to recover, and that's when your eyes fall to a strange looking weapon that looks just as pointy as the ones you fell onto, and possibly made out of bone. The second your paw touches it, though, a mental assault is launched against you, and images flash before your eyes of stabbed and mutilated victims. You hear their screams and feel their pain for but a moment before the flash is over, and you stare at the spear.

Verde the Leafeon suffers 2 points of Sanity damage.

It definitely has Stalker resonance...so you know you have to take it.

[@Bloody Bone Spike@ 2S damage] was added to the Team Inventory.

You take a moment to figure out how to wedge yourself out of this hole without falling back down again, and manage to leap out fairly easily, thankful that the pit isn't too deep. You take the grizzly Stalker weapon with you as well, hoping to put it down at the clubhouse and never have to touch it again.
