I still need to even play Three Houses. Maybe it'll be what gets me back into it. Cause Fates ruined it for me personally. The mechanics were ruined and dlc was pointless.

The time is upon us...
. Pika Pair with the yellow bundle of fluff Chibi Altaria..
(The Heirs of Fates DLC was good though, but the selling other games as DLC thing was kinda lame.)
Three Houses has a lot of changes to the fomula. So it's not much like Fates or Awakening.
Weapons triangle is gone. Every character can use every weapon regardless of class, but each class gets extra EXP for certain weapons. (Myrmidon gets extra Sword exp, Peg.Knight gets extra Lance & Flying exp)
Weapons are breakable again, and each character learns weapon skills, that add extra effects to that weapon type, at the cost of more uses of the weapon each attack.
You get most of the main cast right away, instead of recruiting them bit by bit. The optional recruits are outside of battle, and mainly characters froom the other houses you didn't pick.
There's the whole Persona 3-5 style mode between battles, where you build up supports between characters and give them more weapon exp.
None of the characters can get married in the main game, and only the protagonist gets and S-support, so no shoehorned in children characters.
Storyline wise, it's got all the FE tropes, but everything is much better written thatn Fates. Essentially it's what Fates' story should have been.
If you're not sure about it, Joe Zieja (Voice of Claude, one of the main characters) has done a LP of the Gold Deer path, so you could watch through the first few chapters to see if it looks good. But I would definitely reccomend playing it.
