CASSANDRA SILVERS
Spoiler:
Name: Cassandra Silvers
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Role: Operative
Appearance: (Image Ref)
Physical: Standing 5’11”, Cassandra has long blonde hair, blue eyes, and a slim and charismatic figure. Before her fall from grace four years ago during the first Pokémon High Seas Tournament, she was most renown for her attractive appearance in addition to her ability to easily triumph over her adversaries. Now, she doesn’t flaunt it around, playing it as if she was never once a celebrity in the first place. She also isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty and take a physical beating, whereas before the idea of something bruising her and damaging her appearance would have really bothered her.

Attire: Unlike her “pre-incident” days, she now wears mostly baggy blue jeans and graphic t-shirts with a black backpack, black sneakers, and a black cadet cap. Having been an Eevee for years in the Starglade sanctuary, she prefers loose-fitting clothing and doesn’t like to wear anything that feels too tight. Meanwhile, she doesn’t care for expensive clothing and jewelry like she once did. Most of what she wears now is cheap and easily replaceable.

Costume (Optional): Trying to stick with a theme that bonds Cassandra, Jarena, and Violet together without giving themselves away too obviously, they settled on going with butterfly Pokémon, as the theme bears no correlations to the kinds of Pokémon they used before and doesn’t give away their identities. Cassandra’s costume is based on a Butterfree. While not quite mascot in style and more like a onesie in format, the wings however are proportionally-sized, which looks impressive, but makes moving through doorways tricky.

Personality: Cassandra is cunning, smart, and level-headed, although at times, she can get emotional, and she was at her lowest during her fall from grace four years ago when it seemed like the entire world was against her and her two friends Jarena and Violet. But since then, she has shed her previous conceited and haughty nature and has become someone more selfless and empathic, although she knows how to have a good laugh every once in a while but also be a badass when she needs to be. And while the world still hasn’t forgiven the Diamond Ladies for what they did all those years, she has discovered the world thinks the Diamond Ladies are dead and are out of the picture. To her, that’s good enough, though she’s out to still try to do some good from the shadows while most others have started to forget about her and her two friends.

Having spent the last four years as an Eevee in hiding with her two friends Jarena and Violet, Cassandra has gained plenty of survivalist knowledge and skills at foraging, but at the cost of some hygiene. She’s gotten a bit used to doing human things again like wearing clothes, showering, and using electronic devices feels a bit odd to her, but she’s slowly getting back into it. Meanwhile, unlike before, she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty. Living as an Eevee in the wilderness with dirt everywhere and eating food off of the ground wasn’t the most sanitary of things to do, but it did get her to not care very much about cleanliness and etiquette. At the same time, walking upright on two legs still feels a tinge bit odd for her considering how long she was an Eevee for.

History: Cassandra was born to Victor Silvers and her mother Lauren Silvers in Goldenrod City, Johto. As a child, Cassandra was always out to try and outsmart others and gain influence and she relied on cunning tactics as a trainer instead of pure brawn. Meanwhile, she liked to battle her older brother Shawn quite often, as he liked to tease and taunt her that his team was above hers, although they were pretty evenly split in terms of win/loss records when it came down to Pokémon battles.

As a teen, Cassandra gained a fascination for mysticism and occult artifacts. Anything surrounding superstitions, tarot cards, and other supernatural paraphernalia caught her interest, though most of it she found was fake. Through a slumber party she was invited to, she made friends with Jarena Farrell and Violet Radcliffe, who also had some fascination with such things. But it wasn’t until Cassandra had discovered Shadowcraft that their lives had changed. Unlike previous occult memorabilia she had discovered and tossed away, Cassandra found Shadowcraft was truly authentic witchcraft that was not only genuine, but reliable despite its learning curve. With Jarena and Violet, they delved deeper into Shadowcraft’s secrets and then started using it. It started with using it on wild Pokémon to make them easier to capture by confusing them and bewildering them. And then they used it as a prank to win trainer battles. But as time went on, it was soon relied upon as they started to gain fame, fortune, and attention after using it to win tournaments. One of them would enter a tournament while the other two assisted from the grandstands, hexing their opponent’s Pokémon and assisting their own to help their friend achieve victory. They soon gained a high reputation and the three of them were known as the Diamond Ladies. Meanwhile, those that tried to discover their secrets were dealt with and discovered for themselves what the receiving end of Shadowcraft entails…

However, after winning almost every tournament and achieving Champion titles, the three of them had been invited to take part in the Pokémon High Seas Tournament. Unknown to them, a hidden investigation was performed to delve into their mysterious winning streak, and through many incidents and mishaps aboard the S.S. Wishmaker, their secrets of Shadowcraft were discovered, their reputations were destroyed, and they took a lifetime ban from the League, along with all of their prize winnings, titles, and reputation lost. However, Cassandra had decided to come clean, confess to her crimes, and attempt to cooperate with the League. Despite trying her best to make amends, her once loyal fans and the general public had loathed them once they learned the truth, forcing the three Ladies to take another path in life and become the three Pokémon they had been inadvertently turned into, with Cassandra becoming an Eevee. Their journeys into the wilderness had allowed them to find a hidden Pokémon sanctuary in northern Johto called Starfield, where she, Jarena, and Violet had become healers for the Pokémon that lived there. Had things continued normally, they would have spent the rest of their lives there as Pokémon.

After the first year, Cassandra had an encounter with Latios, who had approached her and informed her about a crisis involving Rayquaza and the military’s attempt to kill it. Knowing the consequences of that could involve serious damage to the world, Cassandra had agreed to go, embarking on a mission with Jon Drake once more to capture Rayquaza for its own good. Once the mission had been completed, Cassandra returned to Starglade and met up with Jarena and Violet once again, still feeling it might not be the last time she would see Jon…

A year later, Cassandra, Jarena, and Violet had encountered a familiar face they were never expecting to see again. Jimmy had found his way to Starglade, but not under the best of circumstances as he had been knocked out cold and lost his memories through amnesia. Through their experiences with healing some of the other Pokémon of Starglade, Cassandra and the other two Ladies were able to restore his memories and help the Pikachu get back on his feet again. After making a full recovery, he had been on his way, though he had promised to keep the truth about the Ladies a secret with most of the rest of the world believing they had perished in the cabin fire.

Two more years had passed before Cassandra, Jarena, and Violet had received the dark rallying call from Agatha to head to Akala Island in Alola to join their fellow Shadowcraft witches and grow stronger within this new dark alliance. Sensing something very dark was about to go down on the resort island, the three Ladies, after much discussion, had decided to temporarily leave the sanctuary, travel to Mossdeep as three Altaria, and warn Jon Drake and Champion Steven about what they had heard.

Not wanting to take any chances, the League had decided if the situation was dire enough for the three Ladies to come out of hiding, there had to be some authenticity behind the warning. In exchange for their trust and for Cassandra’s assistance with a League mission involving Rayquaza, the Ladies offered to return to being human and provide support in terms of dispelling whatever dark Shadowcraft might be used against this second League investigation.

Now, the Ladies themselves join the operatives from the shadows, with only a very select few knowing about their secret presence. But it’s anyone’s guess as to how long they can keep this presence a secret…

Pokémon Team: Having had to let her previous team go on their own (though Violet’s Pokémon were stolen), the League has assisted Cassandra, Jarena, and Violet in obtaining new Pokémon, Pokémon that were previously abandoned by their trainers, dropped off at a daycare and never reclaimed, and once belonged to trainers that passed away and never declared a beneficiary. Also, to keep hidden among her fellow humans, none of the Pokémon that Cassandra uses now bear any resemblance in similarity to the Pokémon she had before. However, the drawback is these new Pokémon haven’t spent too much time with their new trainers, and are still in the process of building trust with them…

Gale the Frosmoth – Gale once belonged to a trainer named Oliver Holden, who had passed away after freezing to death around the Snowslide Slope in Galar. Since then, Gale, previously without a name, has been residing in an adoption center until she was given to Cassandra to help with this mission. They still haven’t gotten to know each other, but Gale finds it fascinating that Cassandra knows the language of Pokémon, and seems to have her own secrets as well.

Angel the Swanna – Unlike Gale, in Angel’s case, he had once belonged to a trainer that lost their trainer privileges due to Pokémon abuse and battling misconduct. In fact, he was in rough shape when he was first confiscated and taken to a Pokémon shelter. For some unknown reason, he has been there for at least a year with no one willing to adopt him, but Cassandra decided to give him a chance and hope he can be a great asset to her new team. Meanwhile, Angel has taken a liking to Cassandra, captivated by her ability to speak to and understand Pokémon.

Nami the Purugly – Nami is the tragic tale of a young girl trainer named Sophia that loved Nami as a Glameow, but then when Nami evolved into a Purugly, Sophia was so horrified at Nami’s new appearance that she just outright abandoned her by leaving her Pokéball off on the side on Route 210 in Sinnoh. Despite the negative connotations about her species, Nami is a kind and gentle Pokémon and doesn’t fit the negative stereotype at all and even smiles much more than scowls. She sees good in Cassandra while Cassandra sees a gentle, abandoned soul that deserves a chance to do good for others and Cassandra hopes to make that possible.

Berri the Lilligant – What happened to Berri’s trainer is a mystery, as Berri was found still in her Pokéball in the backseat of a car that had been abandoned off to the side of the road. The car itself had been registered to Jude Maxwell, though she had been labeled as missing for three years. For now, Berri has been adopted by Cassandra, though it seems quite unlikely Jude will come looking for her, whatever she’s doing now. In essence, Berri is just happy to have a new trainer who can understand her.

Marche the Sandslash – Marche belonged to a trainer named Francis, who was killed in a drive-by-shooting after a rival gang mistook him for one of their opposing gang’s lieutenants. Marche is still on edge, still unable to grasp that Francis is gone, just like that, but he understands what death means and eventually he needs to move on. He never thought he’d find a human trainer that could understand him, but while Marche has told his story to Cassandra, she has done the same, and Marche realizes that despite Cassandra being human for now, she still seems to have the spirit of an Eevee…

Ace the Ampharos – Ace once belonged to a millionaire named Walter Frederickson, who lost everything at the high-roller table. Unable to support his own Pokémon, Walter had to sell them much to his dismay, and after some time, even the pawn shop really didn’t want to hold onto Ace after they couldn’t get a buyer. Still, Cassandra seems great potential in him and feels while he might not enjoy the millionaire’s life now, she can relate to what it feels like to go from riches to rags, but they both agree they’d rather be poor and happy as opposed to being rich but sad.

Other: Like Jarena and Violet, Cassandra has a strong knowledge of Shadowcraft, although the three Ladies now excel more along the lines of using it for healing, dispelling, and annulling curses and hexes, though they haven’t forgotten its darker side. But where Agatha and her witches have their knowledge of afflictions, the Ladies know much more about its curative properties. In addition to that, having lived in a natural habitat as Pokémon for four years, they have found ways to link and align their Shadowcraft with the terrain and nature around them, allowing them to harness druidic-like powers not even Agatha and her witches know how to do…

JARENA FARRELL
Spoiler:
Name: Jarena Farrell
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Role: Operative
Appearance: (Image Ref)
Physical: Jarena stands 5’9” tall with long brunette hair, brown eyes, and with a jubilant and whimsical aura about her. She has a slim figure and is usually wearing a calm and mischievous smile. Like Cassandra, she doesn’t care much about getting dirty now.

Attire: Like Cassandra, Jarena wears baggy, loose-fitting clothing, and sometimes even jokes about “missing fur” because “it was just easier.” If Jarena had it her way, she would just wear pajamas all day, but she feels she can manage with t-shirts and baggy cargo shorts, especially in Akala’s tropical weather climates. She also likes cargo shorts because pockets, pockets, and more pockets. In addition to that, she also likes sandals and flip flops because “socks and shoes just feel weird now.”

Costume (Optional): Following the butterfly Pokémon theme, Jarena’s costume is based on a Beautifly and is akin to onesie style with the large colorful wings. Quite frankly, Jarena loves it and feels like she could wear it all day and all the time.

Personality: Playful, cheerful, and comical, there’s only a few things that can bring Jarena’s spirits down, although certain things like losing her Pokémon after the Wishmaker incident and nearly being attacked by Lance were enough to devastate her. Still, she’s quick to look at things in a fun, comical, and optimistic way. She also loves cute Pokémon and has a warm, soft spot in her heart for them.

With this new incident, ever since Cassandra had become a bit of a hero saving Rayquaza’s life, Jarena has wanted to do something heroic as well. While she has enjoyed her time casually living as a Buneary in Starglade, she welcomes the opportunity to do good, even if the rest of the world may still look down upon the Diamond Ladies. She feels maybe… just maybe, there’s hope in turning it all around. Meanwhile, like Cassandra, hygiene and sanitary behavior haven’t somewhat been discarded for Jarena. If her lunch were to spill on the floor, she’d have no qualms about just eating it right off the ground, five second rule be damned. She also doesn’t shower every day and doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty at all.

History: Jarena was born in Ecruteak City, Johto, to Alex Farrell and Joanna Farrell. As the youngest child in the family of five, Jarena had two older brothers, Hank and Adam, who were always trying to outdo each other while Jarena was off on her own to get into her own wild mischief. Sometimes, just to have fun, she’d play a prank on one of them and frame the other just to have a laugh.

As time went on, both Hank and Adam had started their trainer careers in Johto but got swept up in going to League after League, never winning any championships, but both of them had amassed a collection of badges. Jarena took things easy at first and battles were a bit of a struggle for her when she started, but it wasn’t until she met Cassandra and Violet at the slumber party did she have her whole life changed.

Like in Cassandra’s case, Shadowcraft started off with innocent intentions, but then took a dark turn as they pushed the boundaries and rules went from being bent to being outright broken. But things escalated to a point where Jarena felt it was just impossible and crazy to say “okay, yeah, let’s just stop” and not raise any red flags. Instead, they continued to use witchcraft in every tournament, simply timing each spell to look like the Diamond Ladies were just that much more effective at taking down their opponent’s Pokémon.

She tried to stay optimistic even during the S.S. Wishmaker incident had clearly squeezed the truth out of them and left them scrambling as Pokémon with all their secrets about Shadowcraft spilling out. But like Cassandra, she decided coming clean and cooperating was the only real choice after everything that had went down. Unfortunately, they didn’t get that opportunity to really make amends as the public outcry against them had gone widespread and viral. As things looked bad, her heart aligned on just running off into the wild as cute Pokémon and just living simple, happy lives away from humanity’s negativity.

Now, with this new situation surrounding Agatha, while Jarena still loves her life as a Buneary, she feels Agatha is up to something really terrible and it could spread around if left unchecked. Plus, she’s hoping maybe the three of them can be frontline heroes and maybe perform a climatic reveal of themselves helping to save the day to hopefully get people to realize the Diamond Ladies aren’t so bad after all. But for now, she agrees with Cassandra’s plan to keep things quiet as the world still thinks the three of them are dead.

Pokémon Team:

Jubilee the Bellossom – A boy named Dave once loved a girl named Haley, and Haley had a special love for flower Pokémon like Jubilee. For Dave’s 20th birthday, Haley thought he might enjoy having a flower Pokémon of his own and she was interested to see if Dave could raise her to be a competitive fighter. Except Dave was a spineless jerk and only cared about outright dominating battles with nasty, beastly Pokémon, so Haley’s suggestion to add a not-so-competitive Pokémon like Jubilee to his team was met with a disrespectful distain and it eventually led to a terrible breakup as Haley realized Dave cared more about his battling record than love and respect. Meanwhile, to no fault of her own, Jubilee ended up in an adoption shelter as Haley just felt depressed every time she looked at Jubilee reminding her of something she wanted to forget. Life hasn’t been too good for her, but she feels a bit better now in Jarena’s company, although she still needs time to warm up to people again. To her, Jarena at least seems like a better person than Dave. Screw Dave.

Ruckus the Plusle and Mischief the Minun – Jonah was the story of a young child trainer that wanted to see if he could raise a spunky Plusle and a goofy and childish Minun as an amazing tag-team for double battles. And he had made it halfway through the Johto League before succumbing to a terrible battle with cancer that left his family and Ruckus and Mischief devastated. As the family was unable to financially support Jonah’s Pokémon, Ruckus and Mischief were put up for adoption, but now have found a new friend with Jarena. They seem to like her and her fun-loving nature, though something about her captivates them as mysterious and admirable…

Yogurt the Goodra – Yogurt is a fun-loving and happy Goodra, though the story and background of her previous trainer isn’t a pleasant one. Her previous trainer, Dani, ended up getting killed by her own Charizard when she lost control of him and he had become violently aggressive. Dani’s family was against her owning Pokémon in the first place, so all of Dani’s other Pokémon had to be put up for adoption. While Yogurt misses Dani, she’s optimistic, feeling Dani is likely “happier in a new and better place.” But in the meantime, she likes Jarena and her idea of striving to be a hero.

Comet the Clefable – Comet is a very chill, easy-going Clefable that likes a good adventure, but doesn’t take things too seriously and never really stresses out about things. His story isn’t all too bad, as he was just put up for adoption by a trainer named Brad that just decided to replace him with another Pokémon and didn’t like the idea of keeping him in a box, so he just decided maybe someone else out there could use his help. Comet had different visions for what his next trainer would be like, but he still likes Jarena’s personality and thinks he’ll do just fine with her.

Maxi the Dewgong – Maxi once belonged to a water Pokémon trainer who had fallen on hard times and really couldn’t afford to continue a Pokémon battling career, so Maxi was put up for adoption. Normally, Maxi was recluse with her previous trainer, who expected too much out of her Pokémon, but she’s enjoyed being with Jarena and finds it’s a much better experience and she likes Jarena’s playful and comical nature.

Other: Like Cassandra and Violet, Jarena knows a decent amount of Shadowcraft and in the past, Jarena enjoyed turning victims into cute and adorable Pokémon. Truthfully, she still does, but now she feels it should only be done with good purpose instead. She does like the feeling that comes with helping a person or Pokémon recover. But, if needed, she’s ready to go all out if she needs to and the situation calls for it.

VIOLET RADCLIFFE
Spoiler:
Name: Violet Radcliffe
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Role: Operative
Appearance: (Image Ref)
Physical: Standing 5’10” Violet keeps a slim and attractive figure. In addition, she has short black hair and passionate green eyes. Before the S.S. Wishmaker incident, Violet didn’t mind getting her hands dirty, but now even more so. She gives off a very rogue-like aura and keeps a very dark and guile presence about her.

Attire: Prior to the Wishmaker incident, Violet liked expensive black leather clothing in addition to keeping up with fashion. However, losing almost all of her material assets and spending the last four years as a Furret have completely destroyed that kind of life. These days, like Jarena, she only wears loose-fitting, very casual clothing, mainly denim shorts or cargo shorts with a t-shirt, usually in dark colors.

Costume (Optional): Violet’s butterfly Pokémon themed costume is based on Vivillon and like the Butterfree and Beautifly costumes that Cassandra and Jarena have, it too features the large and impressive wings that resemble a Vivillon with a meadow-colored wing pattern. Normally Violet didn’t care for dressing up for this occasion, but she realized she would look like the odd lady out if she didn’t, but she’s alright with this one.

Personality: Somewhat hard and serious in nature, Violet usually lets Jarena do the joking around while she thinks more about the logistics of the situation. Sometimes Violet can be hard to read and she’s seen plenty of absurdities in her life, but generally, she tries to remain focused and not get easily distracted. Overall, while the rest of the world has turned on the three Diamond Ladies, one might wonder why a dark angel like her would try to help at a time like this. In essence, Violet would like to prove everyone who doubted them were completely wrong and while the Ladies could play the deception game, they can excel at the right side of things as well.

Meanwhile, Violet still has an instinctive habit and tendency to be wary of Furret tail behind her getting caught in a closing door or snagged onto something even though it’s not there anymore.

History: Violet was born as an only child to Barry Radcliffe and Natalya Radcliffe in Olivine City, Johto. As a child, Violet never really saw too much of her father as he was constantly on the go with a sales representative job that required 90% travel. Most of Violet’s upbringing came from her mother, who taught her early on to question everything and never to dismiss a premotion.

In school, Violet excelled in her studies, but she hated the work. The ability to memorize and understand the classroom material was there, but the passion was non-existent. Once she got the A as a final grade, she couldn’t give a damn about what she actually learned and she found very little of it actually benefited her or prepared her for the future. Very little of it seemed worthwhile from a practical standpoint.

She liked Pokémon battling, as it required wits, quick-thinking, and strategizing. It was also something where she didn’t need to pretend to adopt a teacher’s opinion or theory just to get an A and then promptly forget they even existed. It was clearly you have what it takes to win or you lose and need to rethink what you’re doing.

On the side, Violet liked to delve into the supernatural, mainly because it was never covered in school and it was something most people didn’t understand. She saw that as a challenge with dark secrets to uncover. It’s what led her to find Cassandra and Jarena at a slumber party and how discussions of such things made her find two new friends. To Violet, Cassandra was level-headed and Jarena, while whimsical and mischievous, was not the complete foolish goofball some believed she was. At the same time, she found it interesting to share what she knew about mysticism while Cassandra and Jarena shared their experiences.

Together, after meeting several times after the party, they had delved further into occult relics and it’s what ultimately led them to study Shadowcraft and realize its legitimacy once one commits the time and energy into it. Ultimately, it led to Violet and the others using it to hex and disorient wild Pokémon to aid in their capture before it was used on trainers’ Pokémon. It was something that had never been done before, and yet as they discovered, it was surprisingly effective, though inherently dishonorable. But after winning tournaments and massive prize earnings, trying to pull the plug in itself would be more suspicious than continuing.

The S.S. Wishmaker incident, however, turned her life upside-down. The cruise had started well, with Cassandra making it to the semi-finals easily thanks to Jarena and Violet hexing her adversaries’ Pokémon during battles. However, things went downhill when their guest room had been broken into and the number of infiltrators getting turned into Pokémon from a protective hex placed on their witchcraft belongings kept going up and up. But when Cassandra had accidentally turned herself into an Eevee due to her forgetting to dispel her own transformation hex, things went from bad to worse and it ultimately led to Violet and Jarena getting turned into a Furret and Buneary respectively, though that incident was caused by friendly fire from Jarena and Violet losing her cool enough to target Jarena out of distain for her mistake.

Though they tried to break away after their Shadowcraft books had been confiscated, ultimately they surrendered to the operatives of the League and tried to cooperate and make amends. Unfortunately, news of what had gone down was leaked and they were never forgiven or forgotten with all of the cheating they had done throughout the many tournaments they had been in. After Violet’s Pokémon were stolen and after far too many incidents of harassment and death threats, they decided to act upon Cassandra’s “Plan B” as Jarena was a strong advocate for it. Throwing it all away, they had decided to revert back to being Pokémon and start a new life in the northern Johto wilderness.

Their journeys had taken them to Starglade, where they found their niche as healers after they had saved the life of a Teddiursa cub that had fallen from a tree and nearly died. At one point during their four-year stay, Jon’s Latios had arrived, requesting Cassandra’s help. Violet wasn’t too fond of their past life trying to interfere with the new life they had chosen, but she decided to let Cassandra decide for herself. And then, just a year after that, Jimmy Kendo had found his way to the Starglade sanctuary, stricken with amnesia. After Violet and the others had helped him recover and return back to his Pokémon, it left Violet wondering if perhaps it was impossible to really retreat from what they had been involved with before.

And then came Agatha’s dream rallying call. It seemed odd at first, but it wasn’t until Violet discovered Cassandra and Jarena had the exact same dream. While there was reluctancy to interfere at first when they discussed it amongst themselves, Violet brought up the point that if they did nothing, whatever Shadowcraft hex or affliction was inflicted upon those innocent people on Akala Island would be impossible to undo unless another Shadowcraft witch dispelled it, and dispelling hexes, curses, and curing wounds was something the three of them had learned to excel at. Jarena also added that if they did nothing, they would likely never stop thinking about all the people and Pokémon that would be suffering, and how that suffering could have been prevented if they had only decided to help.

After discussing it, they had decided to become Altarias and fly their way to Mossdeep to give Jon the details, hoping he still had a connection to the League to warn the others and prepare for a counter-operation. Knowing Jon was one of the few people in the world that still would be willing to hear the Ladies out and trust what they were saying was true, it was the only choice they had besides doing nothing.

Now, with the operation against Agatha’s Shadowcraft witches in action, they know their roles in this undertaking will be invaluable, as they suspect Agatha’s pack of witches are not going to be at all forgiving…

Pokémon Team:

Ankh the Luxray – Ankh was once the loyal Pokémon of Martin Harrison, a police officer that was killed in the line of duty when he confronted a terrorist that had killed themselves with a suicide bomb. Ankh himself was also seriously injured and it took months for him to recover. But when he did, Martin’s family couldn’t bear the sight of him as it kept reminding them of the incident, and felt Ankh had to find a new home and start a new life. While now he is with Violet under very different circumstances now, he senses something about her, something selfless that he knew Martin once had.

Azura the Milotic – Abandoned by her trainer because of her aggression, Azura simply didn’t want anything to do with humans and their ilk, and had been known to be disobedient. For a while it seemed like there wasn’t anything that could be done for Azura, and then Violet decided to try adopting her. Surprisingly, it seemed to work, although Azura felt Violet was different, and Violet’s four years of living in Starglade as a Furret and her ability to understand Pokémon gave the Milotic the feeling that Violet and her friends are as close as you can get to having fellow Pokémon be a trainer without actually being Pokémon. It’s a situation that could very well work.

Razor the Zangoose – Razor is a devastated soul that comes with a dark history. His previous trainer, Derek, was killed in a house fire along with his whole family and the rest of his Pokémon. Razor only survived because he had been put outside for misbehaving. But as horrid flames consumed the house, Razor could only watch from his outside pen, and no amount of thrashing and slashing could allow him to break free to try and save them. In all, he feels endless guilt that he wasn’t stronger to break the confines and rescue them, and feels he needs to do something to atone for what had happened. With Violet and this new mission, he feels a sense of purpose and an objective, especially with a trainer that understands his emotional pain.

Cray the Mawile – Cray is sneaky and guile, and likes to take advantage of those that just don’t prepare themselves. Even his last trainer got so fed up with his behavior that she put him up for adoption and couldn’t wait to get rid of him. Almost no one seemed interested in Cray and he felt he could care less, but then Violet came along and he had to say she was definitely more his time. And yet the one time he thought he could make a snarky comment about Violet while Razor was still around, he didn’t realize Violet had the capability to understand exactly what he was saying, only to get a snippy comment in return. Though he would be lying if he said he didn’t feel drawn on from that.

Kano the Dusknoir – Kano faces a tough stereotype in the belief that ghost Pokémon are up to no good. And yet, as Violet discovered, Kano possesses a philosopher’s wisdom that very few care to spend just a minute to learn from. It had been frustrating and even his previous trainer didn’t feel like Kano was even being much of a ghost or a battler, thinking logically and objectively rather than trying to focus on the battle to win it. Kano doesn’t battle very much and only when he needs to, but he makes for a very good mediator.

Indigo the Mienshao – Indigo’s previous trainer, Seth, was unfortunately killed in a bus accident that killed four other people. Unfortunately for Indigo, Seth was the only member in the family who trained Pokémon and never left a will or beneficiary to pass down his Pokémon to. While Violet is very different from the kind of trainer Seth was, being very open and transparent, he feels maybe he can warm up to Violet. But he does still reminiscence about Seth and the kinds of things he said and liked to do.

Other: Like Cassandra and Jarena, Violet knows many kinds of Shadowcraft spells, although like the other two, her specialization has been to dispel and cure hexes and afflictions, as well as undo injuries. However, she hasn’t lost her knowledge of the afflictions and hexes either…
