Personally it's those cold months I'd love to. But you all know me like that by now xD. I much prefer the cold anyway. Feels better for being able to explore around the city. Rather than sweating to death outside. Maybe one day, but probably won't be anytime soon seeing NYC again at least.

I mean I definitely wouldn't go during like the summer months that's just asking for trouble. Sometime like April or October I think would be ideal for me. Not too hot and not too cold.

I haven't been to NYC since COVID, but yeah, it's taken a tumble in terms of crime, homelessness, and crime. And a lot of the reasons why we went before (mainly Broadway shows) have been canceled, so I haven't really been itching to go back.

There's a few good ones. I can't recommend Chicago, though, I feel like the movie was vastly superior. Mama Mia is good fun, though.

I also should have seen Spamalot while I had the chance.

I’m not sure what’s on Broadway right now but definitely recommend the classics like Mary Poppins and Phantom of the Opera. Having seen them both on Broadway and in smaller theaters, the on Broadway versions are just vastly superior experiences.

Hamilton, of course, is also one I’d recommend seeing but in my experience I don’t think it matters where you see it because they choreographed it well enough to be very adaptable to most theaters. Aladdin is actually pretty good too. It’s a Bit different from either of the movies, but I think that makes it a more fun experience, plus the soundtrack is SO good. Finding Neverland was alright on Broadway but I also think it falls into the category of “just as enjoyable off Broadway”.

I haven’t seen many shows on Broadway itself but have seen my fair share of musicals including Kinky Boots (loved it), Wicked (absolutely loved it), and Sister Act (really really enjoyed it). So if you need recommendations I can give you some haha.

That would be assuming I even go anytime soon xD. Would love to see one in person one day. Back when I went there were a few, but we weren't interested in (can't even remember the names). Wicked and Sister Act (those movies were fun xD) seem interesting. Not sure on Momma Mia. Never saw that movie. Not sure about Chicago either. Never saw it.

I can't think of Aladdin being on Broadway now without thinking about Impractical Jokers doing that one punishment on Arabian Knights in Broadway for one of the Jokers xD.

Would be interesting to go see one to say I've seen one.

I haven't seen the Wicked movie so I can't say how it compares to the musical but I'd highly recommend it regardless. I've seen it like 3 or 4 times and loved it every time. Sister Act is a lot of fun too. It's different from the movie but not in a bad way. I'd say it's equally if not moreso entertaining as a musical than it was as a movie.

Still definitely would say Phantom of the Opera or Mary Poppins would be the top two picks to see on Broadway though, just because of some of the choreography and stage work they do. They try to replicate it off-Broadway but it's not the same experience and is far superior on the Broadway stage.

I've seen Les Miserables, Mama Mia, Chicago, Jersey Boys, and Ain't Too Proud. I think Chicago was the only one that was a bit disappointing as there was absolutely no scenery and little use of props, so it was a bit hard to trace what was going on. Performances and singing were great, but that bit of context would have been nice. Meanwhile, the Chicago movie makes it much, much clearer as to what is going on and it plays out pretty well between what's happening to Roxie in the real world versus the performances that are going on in her head. The Broadway show makes it significantly harder to tell the difference and I can imagine anyone who saw the musical but not the movie would have trouble understanding what exactly happened.

The others, however, were fantastic and quite great. I haven't see any of the ones Noble mentioned, but I'm curious about Wicked and I've only heard good things about Phantom of the Opera.
