Part of it, I feel, was because exploring and clearing out dungeons just didn't feel like it gave too much of a reward. Plus while Fallout mainly focuses on guns and distance weapons, Skyrim is a lot more limited in those, forcing you to do a lot of combat melee-style. Plus, Fallout just felt like it had more comic relief moments (heck, a lot of the dialogue and stuff like the vault boy, Nuka-Cola, and some of the absurd weapons and items just made the game much more fun), while Skyrim didn't really goof around with stuff like that at all.
How could you not get into Skyrim? ;n; The Elder Scrolls games are my life <3 Well not really, but they are pretty damn awesome. I told myself that I would finish every single quest I could find, but there's just so damn many of them! Skyrim fetch quests do get pretty old, though. To that end, Oblivion dealt with quests better.

I've never actually played a Fallout game myself, but I've been wanting to get into 'em since Fallout 4 looks pretty cool. I've heard that 3 is better, though?

I'm playing Life is Strange at the moment, and loving it! Totally gotta thank @Xanthe for getting me hooked on this one. Like, urgh. I've never played such an emotional roller-coaster game in my life. Currently up to episode four!
