Thank you!
Honestly, I've always been neutral on poetry. I really only took the class because I'm going for a Creative Writing Immersion and the classes I wanted to take (Fiction Workshop and Game Based Writing Workshop (or something like that)) either were focused on something I didn't want to write on (playwriting) or filled up really quickly D: That being said, I've been enjoying poetry very much this semester C: Basically for each week we have to write two poems. One that is in a specified form and one that can be freeform or in any form. But the actually theme or subject can be whatever you want which is nice C:
I forgot the post the past couple weeks, whoops XD Here's some more!
Creator
Great creator with gifted hand
Craft carefully to final drop
Canvas turn to bountiful land
Until come full stop
And spoke while stand
“I forgot that one prop”
Keep Moving
Forward he moves
Frost burrows into solemn cracks
Releasing blood from internal slumber
Drawn ahead by starry skies now bathed in cloud
Who watch destiny reeling in a fickle skeleton
Forward he moves
Vision wrapped in white like clouds
Breaking for but a moment
Revealing shattered light
Dropping to harsh tundra
Forward he moves
Curious but an understatement
As he reaches broken nest
Of cracked ice, earth, and light
Smashed egg of starborn lies below
Forward he moves
Cautious of this never-seen
A hand to steady the injured
But star bodies are not broken
Only pure heart can be corrupted
Away he moves
Fight or flight choose flight
Infested monster of heaven’s darkness
Gifting plague like Pestilence
Seeding death to those who meet
Away he moves
Unknowingly cursed
Riding borrowed pale horse
A hand to steady the injured
Breaking bodies all around
Livestock
I’m a chicken,
White unkempt feathers contrast your best attire.
Gold adornments turn yellow at first sight.
I’m a cow,
Soulless eyes glaze upon verdant salad.
Aimless wanderings bring no sustenance.
I’m a pig,
Muddy mess treading over golden crop.
Waddling about for scavenged scraps.
I’m a sheep,
Dirty graphite below silky diamond.
Just another cloud pulled by sky’s wind.
I Wanted to Draw
I wanted to draw Wednesday,
A ruby hearted warrior of life (and death)
A white prince cast from society
A black masculine manly-man (in a dress)
A yellow heroine whose name is secret.
I wanted to draw Thursday,
He has a cool horse, cool like a corpse’s pun
Though sometimes he doesn’t listen
I ask him to jump but he falls
Then he respawns, since he doesn’t die.
I wanted to draw Friday,
But someone else wanted to.
I like watching other people draw
But I wasn’t the only one to gather
Like a river others poured in
I should stream my art more.
I wanted to draw Saturday,
I told myself I wouldn’t let it
Free isn’t free in a room walled with money
For the low-low price of free I waited
At least I can play without pay.
I wanted to draw Sunday,
I could have written sooner
But the words enter when they please
Though poetry is an art form
I still want to draw.
I wanted to draw now,
While words are fun to spin
I’m done with this poem now
Which means my time is free
So I’ll go draw now.
