The rain was coming down really hard, and Zenith could hardly see. She saw Max approach her, Moon and Tyler and tell them to head back to Viridian City.

"This rain doesn't seem natural. It must be a Rain Dance from a pokemon," Zenith said. "Let's head back and check things out!"

Zenith returned Qeb to his Poke Ball and ran back to Viridian City with the others, frowning as she saw half the city had lost power. "Who or what could have done this?" she said. She then headed to the Pokemon Center and ran inside, spotting Nathan and Ethan.

Just then, one of the nurses came running out of the back. "Someone has stolen the shipment from Hoenn! Loks they they were trying to get more but I scared them off." She cried.

Zenith frowned at the news. "Someone stole the pokemon? That's not good... Whoever did it must be the cause of this storm and the Mankey going crazy in the city. We need to find them and get the pokemon back."

Meghan and Rose had found themselves in the choas of Manky running through the now every worsening storm. The were clear across town form power outtages at the pokemon center. After capturing a pokemon she frown.

"Im running out of pokeballs.. This is insane." She looked around as Mankey broke windows and trampled through the town.

"Rose, lets work together and start scaring them off. Maybe that Ralts can use a calming move to get these things to relax."


Max had watched people scattering all over the place. He put his fingers to his mouth and blew out a whistle that caught all the near by trainers attention.
" I realize this crazy right now but we need to focus here. The Poke thief has to wait. Their are Mankeys breaking windows and trashing the city. We need to start clearing the city of them. We dont need to give chase to someone right now." He called out in the rain so that the others heard him.




Meanwhile in the far back office of the Viridian Gym Giovanni sat near a monitor. A big smile came over his face.
" This plan has gone exceeding well." He said creepily petting the Persian next to him. Two grunts stood in front of him.
"Yes, sir... The plan is marvelous!" Thomas said.
"More than that sir, sending Genie out to pretend to be a stupid trainer was brilliant." Jermie Laughed.

Giovanni's eyes focused on the three dancing Lucdicolos.

" The sweet scent worked perfectly. The Mankeys fell for the bait..Then all we needed was a sucker to fall for the Genie ploy. So that people couldnt possible think anything beyond dumb trainer choices. The icing on the cake.. Releasing Oak's pokemon just in time drew these trainers here. Now the streets are crowded are a wreck an noone is paying attention to what we really want." He said turning away from the dancing pokemon back to his monitor.
"Plus their is the added bonus of testing the trainers out..."


*The Giovanni thing is not known by the trainers so I swear by the powers of asgaurd if someone tries to write anything about what I said. There post and them will be shot into space ;)

Tyler had encountered Max as he ran towards Route 22. Max had been over there when the rain really grew and informed Tyler, alongside Meghan and Zenith that the main issue was Viridian City. As Tyler turned back, he could see the rain was worsening still, becoming fully torrential - the city was suffering slight power fluctuations here and there.

"I think there's more of a problem in Viridian than the Mankeys!" Tyler shouted to Max as he started to head back towards the city. "We need to make sure everyone is safe!" He looked at Zar'roc again, whose blades were still glowing, a light beacon to follow back to Viridian for the group as the rain worsened and the sky darkened further.

Tyler was out in the rain. He could just about make out Max with him still. He called out about a Pokemon Thief - something to do with Hoenn - and then mentioned the Mankey's trashing the city again. Tyler frowned.
"How are we meant to fight in this weather? We can barely see where we're going, let alone fight!" He said, frustrated. "I've battled in complete darkness before but this is an entirely different ball game!"

Might be worthwhile to update the capture form in that thread the to prevent future confusion.

After Brandon got to the pokemon center he went into the bathroom (of he pokemon center, I assume there would be one) changed into the extra set of dry set of clothes he carried in his bag for emergiences such as this and wiped down the tarp with some paper towels. He gave his pokemon to Nurse Joy to heal.. even though his pokemon were fully healed he wanted to make sure. When he got them back he clipped them to his belt, but let Mudkip out again. If a Manky tried to attack him, Mudkip being out of his pokeball already will allow him to quickly come to his defense. Brandon turned towards the door just as the power flickered then went out at Pokemon Center. Reaching for the door handle and pulling it open Brandon (Mudkip following right behind him) went outside to assist in the efforts to get them Manky under control.

Big news everyone! The count down to the story splitting starts today! 3 Days until he teams break up. You should make the time to interact with the characters because when it splits you will not see most of them ever again in the story.

Max shouted over the rain at the other trainers.
" These things are dangerous and unpredictable. If we are going to do this we can not get to close to them. However they are easily taunted and we can use that to lure them away from the city."

Tyler nodded at Max's comment. "Easily distracted, huh," he said to himself. He looked over as Zar'roc. "Ready to distract some Mankey, Zar?" The Absol nodded, blade readied for a blast of energy when Tyler spotted - or rather, heard - a Mankey. "Max, can we get back to the Pokemon Center? We need all the help we can get!" Tyler looked around, noticing a car that had been trampled on. The Mankey weren't just here and fleeing, they were rampaging... Tyler wasn't sure why - surely fear would cause them to hide in the city and not attack everything that moved?

When Brandon got outside, the Manky were going crazy, well crazier, they were smashing windows in buildings, breaking things and running around. Only a very small handful of trainers were trying to keep them under control, the ones that were did not have very strong pokemon, though the ones they did have were doing a good job of staying alive and standing thier ground. Brandon nodded at his Mudkip toward the majority of the Manky's that the other trainers were battling. Brandon said "Alright time to finish these Manky's once and for all... Mudkip use hedroplane, then follow it up with water gun then finish it up anyway you please" Mudkip responded with a 'KIP KIP' and created a huge wave from alot of different puddles and luanched them at the big group of Manky's.

Rocky sat by the window and enjoyed a quiet cup of tea. He enjoyed the serenity of the Pokemon Center which seemed an island of calm fro the chaos outside.

The other trainers kept running out into the storm. Some came back soaking to heal their Pokemon, and then ran back out to get soaked again! Rocky shook his head at the idea. He was fine with training in the rain if necessary. He had spent moan hours in weather like this running up and down a football field, but why not sit back and relax while you could.

He pulled out his Poke-Ipad, and continued reading a book on Kanto history. It was a wonderful day to sink into a book and not stress about things. The storm and chaos that he could see on the other side of the window could have been a million miles away for all the effect it had on Rocky's pleasant day.

Then the Power went out! Rocky looked up from his book to see people running. Some were screaming, which did disturb him, slightly, but he calmly turned back to his book. He wasn't an electrician, so that was someone else's job.

Then one of the nurses "Someone has stolen the shipment from Hoenn! Looks they they were trying to get more but I scared them off." She cried.

Rocky didn't like thieves. He didn't see the point of stealing anything. If they wanted something why didn't they just have their parents' buy it for them? He got up to ask the nurse about the theft.

"Excuse me Ma'am. Do you need any help about that theft? I have nothing better to do at the moment." He politely inquired.

"You are one of those trainers aren't you? Why aren't you out there with them?" She looked outside.

"Outside in this weather? Why am I not outside, in this weather? I can list about a hundred reasons why not if you like. Or I could help you with the theft." Rocky replied.

"One trainer's not enough, get the rest of your group back here and we'll talk." the nurse said with finality and left.

Looking outside Rocky sighed. Fair enough he would go and let the others know about the theft. He quickly finished his cup of tea, grabbed his umbrella and let Speedy out of his ball. "We have to go out in this to find the others. My other Pokemon do not like water, so it's just you and me" he said to the Ratatta.

Speedy smiled a happy smile, "Ratatta, ta tatta".

"I'm glad you're happy! This going to get very wet very quick." Speedy ran up to sit on Rocky's shoulder as they left the safety of the Pokemon Center, in search of the rest of the trainers.

(P.S. Rocky started to wonder what Giovanni was doing, but got sidetracked thinking about what it would be like for the Powers of asguard to shoot him into space!)

Before Brandon could call his move a powerful pokemon broke through the storm


The tail of the pokemon swung hard ko'ing the starter. Brandon was helpless to stop it.

A man followed the pokemon out of darkness. He stayed calm and collected looking at the trainers.

"That would have been a very foolish move young man. Think before you call moves. You could have harmed not only those pokemon but your friends. You may want to sit this one out." The shadow man stepped forward

None of the trainers recognized him but they felt a cold shiver when he spoke. The mans tone demaned respect.

"Now then..Lets see if we can't solve this before anyone does anything else."


"psychic" The man said.


a pokemon now appearing out of the shadows.



The wave went out all over the place effecting the very weak minded Mankey who began to pause in place.

"Now make them use Sunny Day together.." The man said.


The Mankeys all around stopped and began to glow a moment later a massive beam of light into the sky breaking the clouds.

As the rain clouds started to break apart. The man turned calling his pokemon back and headed to wherever he had come from.

Brandon watch the mysterious man finish up all the Manky's like they were nothing. Then he loudlg asked the man " Did you really have to take my Mudkip completely out... the poor thing was only following orders.. you could atleast have injuried him so extenisively Surf was out of the question... it does take quite a bit of energy and focus to use."

Shaking his head at his jump the gun decision making... he should have known such.... he read that in 'the pyshics of water moves'. Reclunently withdrawing Mudkip back to his pokeball he releases Skipper from his pokeball. The little Charmander came out gleaming at the big pyshic pokemon that stood in front of it and was hopping up and down due to the enormous water puddles all over the place, he was VERY careful to keep his tail on the air.
