Sloane pulled the egg from her bag and handed it to Max. "I thought I recognized you but it's been so long and my memory being as bad as it is I had to make sure first." She explained. "Ho-oh would have been displeased if I gave this egg to the wrong person." She looked up at Max before blushing in embarrassment. "A-Ah right. Lord Ho-oh. I've been away from the Kimono Girls for too long it seems. I'm forgetting my etiquette to the legendaries again." Sloane rubbed her arm nervously before bowing to Max. Sloane looked up, confused at Max's sudden laughter. Was this normal? What was so funny? Had her messing up been that humorous? Sloane just felt more embarrassed until Max continued to talk. She listened carefully, seeing the man as somewhat as a mentor.

"My… goals?" Sloane repeated. She frowned and looked up at the sky. "Um… I guess becoming a Kimono Girl and a master of dark types." She said. Sloane looked back at Max. "To be honest I haven't put much thought towards it. Being raised in the Kimono Girl orphanage there seemed to be no other choice for me. You know?"

Sloane listened carefully. She didn't quite understand everything Max meant by what he was saying, but she understood enough. Sloane looked up at the sky again and thought it over. Her journey had barely just begun and she liked this new found freedom. She had rarely ventured out of the temple let alone Ecruteak City. Now she had been thrust into a whole new region and it had been great traveling with Altea. She didn't think it would be right to go back just yet.

"You think the Kimono Girls sent me out here to expand my outlook on life? To show me I don't have to be a Kimono Girl?" Sloane murmured. She hesitated at the "boring day" joke that flew straight over her head. Did that mean they were always getting into trouble. The adventurous streak in Sloane immediately began to work its way through her. "Not a boring day huh? Sounds like a blast." Sloane looked over the ragtag team before saying, "Well… it seems like a waste of a trip to another region to just… leave after I've only arrived… I guess I can join you guys… but only if Altea wants to."

Fascinated by their conversation, Altea practically was beaming as she listened. When Sou came up to introduce herself, Altea was still so moved by the reunion that she clasped their hands together and jumped in excitement. She had caught Sou completely off-guard and they immediately fell down on the uneven ground.

"Ahh!" Altea let out a surprised scream as they went down but was too happy to feel any injuries. She looked at Sou, who looked just as surprised to have fallen.

She quickly apologized to Sou, but then she started tearing up and giggling.

Vermillion ran up and stared suspiciously at Sou, whom he thought had injured his trainer. "It's okay Vermillion, it was my fault," she managed to say, wiping at her tears of joy.

Honestly she was always little worried they wouldn't be able to complete their errand, or the egg would hatch before they could find its recipient. But all her worries disappeared at that moment; Sloane had delivered the egg safely, and to a Champion at that! She felt so relieved and it was just an unbelievable turn of events.

When Max asked Sloane about her goals, Altea learned a little about the past that Sloane never really talked about.

"Of course she'll come with you!" Altea jumped to her feet with determination when Max invited them to join. Without hesitation, she added, "It's the opportunity of a lifetime, and I wouldn't dream of missing it. After all, our Charmeleon are twins! How could I separate them like this?"

"If you'll let us come?" Altea implored Zenith, Sou, and Ethan.

Zenith listened as Max and Sloane talked. She was taken aback at the mention of Max having Ho-Oh for a partner. How did Max have a connection to a legendary pokemon? Her ears perked as she heard Max ask if Sloane would like to stay and join their group. She smiled at this.

"Yeah, you and Altea should totally join us, Sloane! We'd love to have you! The more the merrier!" Zenith said. "It definitely seems like we're a lively bunch, so you won't get bored, that's for sure!"

Sloane smiled a little at Altea. The determination in her traveling partner's eyes was something rare in current times. It was great to know that Sloane had someone to rely on in times of need. She laughed at the twins comment, the fact that their starters were twins almost slipping her mind given the recent turn of events.

"You're right. That would be a little cruel to separate siblings. Especially after we've traveled so far together." Sloane agreed. She followed Altea's gaze to the other three in the group. Sloane looked at them expectingly, hoping they would not be opposed to two new companions. The more the merrier, they always said, but not everyone actually agreed with that.
