Orion was glad that the group had finally decided to move on. Mt. Moon is a large cave with many floors and connectors. The interior of the mountain is comprised of caves spanning three separate floors. The most common Pokemons a trainer could expect to encounter here were Zubats. Orion was definitely not going to give up his chance to get his hands on one, but his traveling companions had other plans.

"Lets try not to make to much noise..These caves are packed with Zubat.." Max said with a smile keeping his voice a little low.

Pfff. Why would they try to avoid such a wonderful Pokemon? Orion thought. They were Pokemon trainers after all. It was their mission to complete the Pokedex.

Sou gave him an opening. Sploosh. Her right foot hit a small puddle of water. ”whoops…sorry” she muttered with a nervous look as she then shook any excess water off of her boots.

That's it. That girl is so clumsy. Let's make her trip ; that's is bound to attract some attention and nobody will never know. Orion schemed. He still hadn't recalled [Aetropos] and who better than a Ghost-type Pokemon to pull a trick on someone.

The Shuppet channeling the negative energy of its trainer knew what it had to do and used Shadow Sneak on Sou's right foot.

Nobody noticed a thing.

Just before she had stepped into the puddle of water, Sou had also been listening to Zenith speak a bit on her past. To be honest, she hadn’t expected her to open up so easily to her, but was happy Zentih felt she could be trusted. The story was a bit hard to take, with the talk of psychic powers, bullying, among other things. Her life, quite naturally was so drastically different to the one Zenith lived it made it that much harder to believe at first. But then….what would be the point in lying to a stranger? To someone she had just met? Not only that, but what would be the point in lying about such a background? That’s because there wasn’t any reason to, and because of that, Sou found herself believing in her story. ”You’ve….had it really hard haven’t you..?” she asked and that was about the time she had stepped into the puddle.

Sou sighed as she shook what water she could off her boots, when something just a little ahead got her attention. She blinked a bit as she focused in, her eyes widening slightly as she caught the sight of a familiar pink outline. It was that Igglybuff! There was no doubt about it this time as she turned to the group. ”Hey, remember that Igglybuff I said I was playing with before? Its here! In this cave! Right over-“ she had said and pointed in the direction she had seen it, frowning. ”…there….well….it was anyway.” she said with a sigh, scratching her forehead with her right pointer finger. That Igglybuff sure knew how to play a game of hide-and-seek, not to mention, making Sou look like a bit of a fool at the same time. ”you believe me right..?” she said with a nervous expression turned towards the other trainers, before turning back to Zenith.

”Sorry I broke away from the moment there. But anyway, while its true its a little hard to believe….you know, I believe you. I don’t think of it so much of a sob story, as its made you into who are you today. Its those…experiences that’s shaped you right?” she said with a smile. ”And I have to say, while we haven’t known each other long, I like you the way you are. And you know, the idea of psychic powers sound pretty neat. I think that makes you a bit special you know? Maybe even like a super hero or trainer…or something” she said and then giggled. ”Anyway, I’m glad I met you and this group. My own backstory isn’t all that interesting, but thats okay. I think, as long as I can get along with all kinds of people and pokemon….thats all that matters to me. Its enough. But the reason I came on this journey was to see how far I can go. So I intend to see it through. “ she said with a nod.

She was about to take another step when she felt her right foot slip as it made contact with the cave floor. "Whoaaaa!" she exclaimed. It felt a little weird as she was sure she had gotten enough of the water off and it felt…a bit different, though she couldn’t quite put her finger on it. Sou fell back, but caught herself from falling directly onto her bum with her right hand onto the cave floor, gritting her teeth. ”ah…wrong move….should have just taken the fall” she said as lowered herself a bit more and then pushed off until she was in a squatting position, looking at her hand. Thanks to it being bandaged and in a glove on top of that, she didn’t sustain any damage, opening and closing it. She shook her hand a bit before standing back up, getting the dirt off her glove. ”Think I hurt my arm a bit with that stunt….you guys should be careful too. This cave is a bit slippery” she said as she scratched the insides of one of her ears. ”Had I not been use to dealing with falling while learning to hunt, I think my bottom would have taken that completely” she said trying to laugh it off a bit, but was a bit embarrassed she was causing a bit of commotion between the puddle and the fall.

As the group walked forward Zenith and Sou started talking. Max didnt pay much mind. His mind was back on the mission at hand. When he heard Sou say

”Hey, remember that Igglybuff I said I was playing with before? Its here! In this cave! Right over-“ She said stopping and then speaking up again. ”…there….well….it was anyway.” she said with a sigh.

Max looked around but couldnt see anything the distance. The tunnel was pretty wide so there could be pokemon hidding in the cracks.

Then it happened..

"Whoaaaa!" The girl called out. Max hadnt seen it happen but knew immediately that the sound was going to draw attention. he turned around quickly to see if Sou was alright.

"You sure you're okay?" Max said slowing down just to make sure she wasnt cut.

Suddenly a sound in the distance could not be heard.

Sou had already stood back up by the time Max had run over, asking "You sure you're okay?”. She smiled. ”Thanks for the concern, but I’m fine really. See, I wear gloves:?” she said showing the front and backs of her hands, the right side just a tad bit dirty and wet. ”On top of that, the hand I landed on was bandaged up underneath my glove, so no cuts or anything. At most, there’s just a temporary pain from landing on my hand, but it should go away soon. Sorry about yelling out though…” she said the last part with a bit of a frown. She had hoped she wouldn’t be a liability on their mission, but they had barely even started and here she was already causing trouble. ”Sorry about the trouble…” she whispered before taking a breath, her ears catching the sound of something in the distance. There was no doubt that she had drawn the attention of something, and hopefully whatever it was, it wouldn’t be too dangerous. If they were lucky, if you could call it that, it would only be zubat but….you never really know what you’ll run into in the middle of a cave, especially in the dark.

Zenith was surprised by all of what Sou said, unable to respond for a while. She was glad that Sou turned out to be one of the ones who shrugged it off. She hadn't expected Sou to be so accepting, and it made her happy. She smiled, having a feeling that she and Sou would definitely be friends.

"Wow, Sou... I'm... not sure what to say," Zenith said. "But, thank you. I'm glad you like me the way I am. I think we can definitely be friends. All the experiences I've had have shaped me into who I am, and I wouldn't change it for anything. People who have had hard lives rise up stronger because of it, and that's the case with me. I may be different because of my powers, but then again, everyone is different. So I don't see why people would make such a big deal over those who have psychic powers. In fact, I read somewhere that the Saffron City gym leader, Sabrina, is a psychic like me. And so is Olympia, the Anistar gym leader back home in Kalos. They're my idols, I guess you could say. They've risen above adversity to get their jobs as gym leaders. I want to be like them, and show people that we psychics aren't any different from anyone else."

As Zenith and Sou continued to walk, Sou suddenly tripped.

"Whoooaaaa!" Sou exclaimed as she hit the ground. She slowly picked herself up and brushed herself.

Max had gone over to Sou to see if she was okay. "You sure you're okay?" Max asked slowing down just to make sure she wasn't cut.

Just then, Zenith heard a strange noise in the distance. "Um, guys, do you hear that?" she asked.

Zenith whimpered as she soon recognized the sound as it came towards them. "Zubats...." she whined.

"Guys take cover...we are about to be hit with a wave of Zubats..." Max said.

Zenith didn't need to be told twice. She quickly got down on her stomach and grabbed Freefall's Poke Ball.

"Freefall, get rid of these Zubat!" Zenith said.

Sou face paled a bit as she could hear hoard of zubats coming right for them, taking cover behind a rock. There was quite a bit of them and while she wanted to catch pokemon quite naturally, she wasn’t as interested right now. She reached down to her belt, grabbing Lyna’s poke ball and tossing it just a little out before her, a Kirlia appearing in a flash of light. ”Lyna! use confusion to either take out or confuse some of these zubats!” she called from behind the rock.

Lyna turned in the direction of the zubat, its eyes starting to glow as it cast confusion.

With Lyna's attack, the kirlia managed to take out a zubat or two, staying outside her pokeball. "why did i have to fall and cause this commotion...!" Sou said with a sigh, looking over at Zenith who was completely down on the cave floor. "She must really not like zubat....I wonder if she's now cursing my name because of this though...and just after we had been getting along so well..." she thought, frowning a bit.
