Max pulled back out the crumpled paper handing it over to Sou. The paper was covered in random notes all over it. Facts about the cave and its history were scribbled onto it.
"You should always read up on the places you are going to visit just encase." Max smiled putting his hand over the back of his neck embarrassingly.

"As for the pokemon whispering its a skill youll learn along the way...To be a champion means you have to spent a lot of time alone on your journey with only pokemon to talk to you start to pick up some of what they are saying. I can fully understand everything pokemon are saying. If I focus I can make out what the are inferring though." He continued down the path slowing as they started to climb stairs leading them to an outside cavern. Cleffa stayed right next to Zenith...before they reached the opening to the outside she started to pull on Zeniths leg.
"CleffA!!!!" It warned her.

As they walked through the tunnel, Sou had asked Max if he could talk to pokemon, and Max explained that he could after a very long time of only talking to pokemon and slowly figuring out what they were saying. Zenith thought that was amazing, and she hoped to be able to do that someday.

Sou also asked how Max knew so much about Mount Moon, and he sheepishly showed her a crumpled piece of paper with tons of notes all over it. Zenith giggled. Even an experienced champion like Max had to look up information every once in a while, it seemed.

They continued along through the tunnel for a while, eventually coming to a flight of stairs that led to an outside cavern. Before any of them could exit the tunnel, however, the Cleffa suddenly began to pull frantically on Zenith's leg.

"Cleffa!" the Cleffa said.

Zenith didn't need to be able to communicate with pokemon to understand the warning tone in Cleffa's voice. She stopped and looked down at the Cleffa. "What's wrong, Cleffa?" she asked. "Guys, I think something's out there, Cleffa's trying to warn us about something."

Sou blinked as Max handed her a crumbled piece of paper. All over it was a bunch of notes, most of them facts about the cave with some history mixed in as well. He spoke up after handing her the piece of paper, "You should always read up on the places you are going to visit just encase.” he said, a bit embarrassed from the looks of it having admitting to it. She chuckled a bit. ”I guess thats not a bad idea, especially when you have business in a place elite this. That solves one mystery” she said scratching the side of her head. She felt a bit embarrassed herself that she had questioned it earlier when the answer was as simple as keeping notes. She had been essentially started in Kanto blind essentially with nothing but her map, a pokedex and her pokemon after receiving it. She didn’t know anything aside from what she’s seen or experienced herself. ”Knowledge certainly goes a long way…” she whispered as she looked through the notes herself when her second mystery was being addressed there. ”Pokemon whispering..?” she thought as Max explained how he had been able to translate the Cleffa from earlier.

”How long did it take you to hone that skill….and you said to be a champion….but I don’t remember you mentioning anything about that before.” Sou said as they walked on down the path, coming to the entrance of an outside cavern. She stopped as she heard the Cleffa by Zenith’s leg, looking down at it, Zenith speaking up just seconds after that Cleffa was trying to warn them. Sou frowned and reached back, unclipping one of her pokeballs from her belt.

Cleffa shook her head telling Zenith she didnt want to continue.
"Will continue this later..." Max said stopping short of the exit.

He looked back watching Cleffa.
"She doesnt want us to go through there..because...." he paused

"Cle cleffa!" she said hidding in Zeniths sleeve. The poor Cleffa had come to them covered in layer of dark soil. Inside the cave it was hard to see but as they got closer to the moon light it was clear that the poor little pokemon had been somewhere near lots of digging. (Sorry didnt mention hat earlier!!)

" She says that the angry girl is out there." He said a little confused. Max paused looking at the light shine off its skin."Look at that.." He said walking over wiping off some of the ash.



"Are you a beautiful little shiny..." he smiled.
He looked up at the girls.
"Zenith you take the back. Ethan stay with her and protect the cleffa..i think she knows where the key is being used. Sou you and Orion be prepared." Max said grabbing a pokeball walking out into the big open field. In the field they noise wave got much louder.


At first they couldn't see anything...Then a trainer showed up.


"Well lookie what we have here...intruders.." Veronica smiled

She noticed the Cleffa.

"Oh and they brought back my slave.."

Her gengar started to laugh.

Sou nodded as Max stated that they would continue the discussion later. ”alright” she said as the Cleffa appeared to be terrified, hiding in Zenith’s sleeve even. She frowned a bit. ”The poor thing is terrified of something” she thought. Max had said prior to her hiding in Zenith’s sleeve that she didn’t want to go in there, but what was in there that had her frightened this much? As they came into the moonlight, it became apparent that this Cleffa was oddly colored, and covered in dirt! It was about then Max mentioned the Cleffa was warning them that an angry girl was out there. ”Angry girl…?” she muttered when Max told Zenith to take the back, and her along with Ethan to get ready. She was still holding onto her poke ball from earlier as she walked out into the big field before them, a trainer there as clear as day with a Gengar.

Sou blinked as she saw this trainer, she was wearing black clothing, a big R in the center of her shirt. ”Black clothing….and an R?” she whispered as the trainer spoke. "Well lookie what we have here...intruders.." she said, looking in the direction of Cleffa, calling it her slave. This made Sou frown, the Gengar laughing behind the strange girl. ”How could you say something like that? Pokemon aren’t our slaves! They’re our…partners and our friends.” she managed to say, not particularly in anger, but in concern. ”What kind of trainer…..makes their pokemon terrified of them..?” she said, gripping her poke ball a bit.

Sou was caught a bit off guard as the woman scoffed at her response, frowning a bit more as she responded to her question. ”Naive…? but…they aren’t tools…” she muttered when Max spoke up. He was pretty straight to the point, asking right out what they were after essentially. But the woman seemed more interested in hurling insults then anything else and even trying to make a deal with them for her information in exchange for that Cleffa. ”We need that information…but we can’t give her back the Cleffa…she’ll just treat it badly again. Couldn’t she have asked for something else instead or just told them?” she pondered as she looked back at Zenith with the Cleffa. Sou shook her head as she turned back to the woman in the black suit. ”What does that R on your shirt stand for…?” she asked, hoping for a direct and non-insulting answer this time.

The Cleffa was getting more upset by the moment, and it climbed into Zenith's sleeve, shaking badly. Max walked over and wiped the dirt off of the Cleffa. Zenith's eyes widened as she saw it was actually a shiny Cleffa.

"Whoa...." Zenith said, staring in awe at the Cleffa.

"Zenith you take the back. Ethan stay with her and protect the cleffa..i think she knows where the key is being used. Sou you and Orion be prepared." Max said grabbing a pokeball walking out into the big open field. In the field they noise wave got much louder.

"Alright," Zenith said, heading to the back of the group with Ethan as she held Cleffa in her good arm.

Just then, a girl dressed in a black outfit with a red 'R' on the shirt walked up to them. "Well lookie what we have here...intruders.." Veronica smiled. She then noticed the Cleffa. "Oh and they brought back my slave..."

Her Gengar started to laugh.

Zentih glared at the girl, holding the Cleffa tight with one arm. She immediately got a bad feeling from this girl. "Pokemon aren't slaves!" she said. "They're our friends and partners! We help each other!"

Sou then responded with something similar.

Veronica scoffed at their responses. "Please... don't be so naive... pokemon are tools for humans to use achieve their goals."

Max scanned the area. "And what "Goal" brought you here?" he asked, seemingly trying to keep the girl talking.

What do we do? I'm not about to let her have Cleffa... but we need the information on what they're doing here... Zenith thought, gritting her teeth. She looked over at Max, a questioning look on her face.

Max looked at the group with a frown on his face.
"Look..I know this is a tense moment but this girl has us at an advantage. She seems pretty full of herself. If handing over the Cleffa gets her to talk then we have to do it." He said realizing Zenith was not going to be happy.

"That Cleffa has survived through all this crap without us, I think we should trust that it can handle a little more..We gotta find the source of the waves.." He said so only the team could hear. He paused looking at Zenith in the eyes.
