Sloane bowed to Zenith in thanks. "I appreciate it. Dylan, my ah… boyfriend," Sloane blushed a little and smiled shyly, "he's a huge fan of fairy types is all. We send letters to one another a lot since he works in Sinnoh. When he found out I was going to Kanto he made me promise to sketch and take pictures of all the fairy types I saw. I told him I'd do my best but I think he'd really like it if I sent him a picture of a shiny fairy type given that shiny Pokemon are so rare. He'd probably frame it or something if it was really good." Sloane said with a short laugh. "Ah geez. He's a goof but what can you do." Sloane paused, realizing she had just ranted about her boyfriend to a girl she barely knew. Sloane had barely discussed Dylan with Altea, and only after Sloane had caught Immortality. Now she was discussing this guy with Zenith, who was a great listener, but Sloane barely knew this chick. Sloane glanced away shyly. "Yeah. A friend of mine named Anthony who visits the shrine a lot would kill for a chance to see Kyreum. He'll be totally jealous when I tell him. Though with him claiming to have seen Zygarde once, I don't know how impressed he'll be." Sloane sighed and waved. "Well I've talked your ear off long enough, I'll leave you be."
Sloane looked up as Max began to offer crackers. She gladly took one, but didn't eat it herself. Sloane sent out all her Pokemon and smiled at them. Breaking the cracker into six pieces, she offered it to all of them before digging into her bag for some real food. Sloane didn't have that much. She was running low again and would probably have to buy some more in the next city. Sloane pulled out a few cans. "Alright let's see. Ascalon, Carwennan, here's your fire type food. And share you two. I have less because there's two of you so share. Uh let's see… Clarent and Arondight, here's your normal type food. We're running low here too so don't eat too much if you can manage. Since you guys are fully evolved if you eat it all, I'll understand but if you can spare it then try not to. I don't want you guys running out before we reach the next city. Immortality, here's Dylan's special mix for you. Don't be too greedy because even though we have a lot of it, if we run out of food for the others then you might have to share, plus I don't know when we'll be getting more of that mix. And Kavacha, you can't eat much but here's some bug type food in case you're hungry. Just keep saving up your strength, I'll know you'll evolve soon buddy. Just be patient like you are." Sloane pet every one of her Pokemon before digging into her bag. She pulled out a small cube of cheese. She scowered her bag for more but realized quickly she was really low of food. "Oi. You'd think after Viridian forest I would have learned about stocking up on everything." Her Pokemon looked at her with concern, Kavacha even going so far as to push his food towards her. Sloane shook her head. "It's ok guys. I'll be fine. Remember I'm used to fasting." Sloane's stomach growled loudly and she sighed a little before biting into the small block of cheese. After two more bites there was only a little bit left. Sloane wrapped it up and put it back in her bag. Her Pokemon ate quite a bit, but only after some encouragement from Sloane. When they were finished, Sloane put all four cans back into her bag. Her Pokemon curled around her, Clarent allowing Sloane to lean on him as she flipped open her journal to start another entry. The combination of the moon and Ascalon's flame allowed her plenty of light to see and she wasn't cold at all thanks to her Pokemon curling around her. She smiled and gazed at the sky, the writer feeling happy despite the somewhat crazy day they had had.

Sloane was still fast asleep at 7:30. She had not fallen asleep until very early that morning, being more of a night owl than a day person. Carwennan and Kavacha were both awake right now, standing guard over their trainer.

"You ever gone fishing Ethan? I cant really tell, you dont look much a fish but yet again you dont speak much." Max said a little distracted. Looking at the shaking egg.
"...Im going to fill up my water bottle walk with me and we can talk." Max said grabbing the bottle letting Lila sleep a little longer. Mankey followed behind looking around the beautiful landscape.
Ten or so minutes later they reached small lake with a stream passing through.
"What did you man?"
"It's been a big few days." I explained, "Usually I tend to quieten down when things get intense."
"I wanted to ask you about a certain Pokemon. What you know about it." I said, "Raikou. It saved me when I was a kid, and I have been studying it for years."

Max walked along the lake until he reached the stream flowing into it.
"What part of Johto are you from again??" Max asked
Sou had eventually gotten inside of her sleeping back and went to sleep alongside Puff and Lyna. It was a fairly easy night to fall sleep as she was exhausted from the previous day. Max had gotten up fairly early and while Sou was an early bird herself, she was getting up quite that early. She remained asleep, Lyna and Puff sleeping on both sides of her, content expressions on their faces.
Zenith listened as Sloane talked about her boyfriend Dylan. He seemed like an interesting guy. "Not a problem, I don't mind helping you show new fairy-types to your boyfriend. He sounds kind of interesting."
Zenith was surprised she was getting along with these other girls. She felt she could have fun with them, and become friends maybe. She then got a surprised look as Sloane mentioned a friend of hers named Andrew having claimed to have seen the legendary Pokemon Zygarde.
"Lord Zygarde? Really? So he came to Kalos?" Zenith said. "I'm actually from Kalos myself. Lumiose City to be exact. I'm surprised he traveled to Kalos to try and see a legendary Pokemon."
Sloane then stopped speaking, clearly embarrassed she had talked about such personal stuff to a complete stranger. Zenith hadn't minded at all, though. As long as people were pleasant toward her, she had no problem talking or listening to them.
After a while, Zenith returned Qeb to his Poke Ball and headed back to her tent. She climbed into her sleeping bag and soon fell asleep.
* * * * *
The next morning, Zenith was still asleep at seven-thirty. The event from the previous day had taken a toll on her mentally and somewhat physically, and she was exhausted.
"I grew up in Ecruteak City, and have been living the last two or so years in Goldenrod City because of university." I said, "But I have also travelled around the whole of Johto a couple of times during my breaks, chasing leads on Raikou."

"What a small world, that new trainer Sloane lived there all her life..I wonder what contact she had." Max said finally stopping at the right spot. He bent over taking a big jug out of his bag.
" Training with Ho-Oh gave me a chance to run across many legendary pokemon. The beasts dont often leave Johto. However in my experince battling Team Aqua and Magma the legends work together when they are needed. For example I could tell you that if you track a certain weather system you would be likely to find the footsteps of the thunder god...but here in Kanto..Raikou would be crossing into Zapdos territory..This is not to say they would fight but there would need to be some major power dispersal for Raikou to be drawn here.. You area also likely to find Thundurus in a bad storm or electric field."
Once he had enough water filled and a couple of extra bottles for the others they started back.
" Back in agent villige the elders told me that the gods have favorites..people that are connected with them. Im not sure I am that person to Ho-Oh but I can tell you she always knows where I am...I have run into a few trainers like that. I met a white haired man in Hoenn that was connected to Jurachi. The two seemed connected in more than just friendship..maybe you and Raikou are connected in that way.." He smiled
" Making a real connection with a god is something life changing.."
"Zapdos and Thundurus?" I said, "I had never thought of it like that. I had once tracked Suicune in order to find it, as I knew those two and Entei were connected, but I think you are onto something. Thanks."
"Maybe you're right." I said, "Raikou could have left me to die but didn't. I always wondered why."
