For me, it's not knowing what to get. Usually if I want something, I just go and buy it. So yeah, when the birthday or Christmas comes around, I'm not exactly sure what I really want for those days. The only things I'd actually want would be pretty expensive, at least a hundred bucks most of the time.
I'm okay with getting gift cards. Better the money gets spent on something that will actually be used rather than just wasted on something that won't even be opened up out of it's packaging.

Gift cards are ok, but I just feel like during Holidays it's nothing now but giving each other money or gift cards. Which is basically like giving each other money that you only get back in return to another specific place.

It actually happened to me one of my family members last year when it came to them finding me a gift for Christmas. They couldn't figure out anything for me so they just got me a jersey from our state's baseball team. It's more common than it seems now. Though it's hard to say that for every family because it's hard to go out and NOT see a young child (maybe 7+) on an iPhone or some high tech cellphone now. So price isn't always a matter for everyone I guess.

For some reason, for birthdays and Christmas, I get a lot of beer-related things. I got a beer calendar, beer t-shirt, and of course, the actual beer to drink. I'm not even that big of a drinker, but hey, I appreciate it anyway!

Sheesh you're just as paranoid as Tazz is. They have 48 hours, not 24!
