Okay its time for the update to kick start Emearld.
After the events of omega sapphire the team woke up in a hoenn that was blanketed in a darkness. The team found themselves confused and lost deep in the woods. Lucian woke up and found a strange egg which he took with him. After a bit of confusion the team raced through the dark towards a bright light in the distance. As they got closer they realized that they were looking at a whole town in flames. The team rushed to help and try to save as many people as they could. The losses in the town were tragic...a flight broke out between the team members the disagreement on what direction they should go in. The building tension between Lucian and the team caused him to take off first in search of his brother and the shadow cult. Rain, Joseph, Clea (with Emma) and Reggie @Dragotech would all pick their own direction. The events of the town would remain mostly a mystery as would the blackout they experienced.
Five Month Later. Each person has gone their own route never having finished the pokemon league run. Increasing violence in the towns and increased shadow pokemon appearance is getting more and more attention. The story starts back out as a message goes out to all the team. Its an encrypted message from the missing Dr. Sarin which gives them each coordinates to cave on the western cost of Hoenn. @Suicune's Fire @Dragon Master Mike @DHPflareon
Some basic things to keep in mind
1. Its been five months it logical that your start will have reached its final stage.
2. In that time you can add the rustboro gym badge
3. You will also be able to add on pokemon that you missed on catching. (Im sure a list will be needed!)
4. Your backstory is up to you! However you will need to post it here first so we can make sure it doesnt conflict with any long term continuity!
5. After the backstory info is posted we can start up as early as next week!
6. Feel free to attach a list of things you will need. This can include new pokemon you would like that can be from any region! If a certain pokemon is important for your character please list that and explain how it fits into the backstory. These wont be for sure poekmon but they will be considered!

Rain's backstory
After team Emerald split Rain set out to look for Dr. Cain to get some answers about his shadow condition. Wanting to keep a low profile Rain kept away from the resulting conflicts over the region since it’s decent into darkness. During his search Rain traveled to Rustboro and defeated the gym leader before he continued north. One month later Rain found the doctor in Fallabor town where he explained to the old man what had happened. After seeing how much pain Rain was in Cain agreed to give Eris to Rain since the boy needed the espeon more than an old man like himself but Rain had to promise not to seek out the shadow cult. Agreeing on the old man’s terms Rain took Eris to train but Rain knew that he wouldn’t be able to keep his promise, not that he would look for the shadow cult but he was pretty sure they would find him eventually.
With Eris at his side Rain went to route 113 outside of Fallabor town where he spent day and night training, fighting against his friend Mint who had been transformed into a Shadow minccino by the Songbird cultist and he also managed to capture a strange psychic pokemon that could help boost up Eris’s powers. The training combined with the dark and gloomy atmosphere of the ash covered fields created by the thick ash clouds coming from mount Chimney began to change Rain mentally. He stopped talking, letting Eris speak to others for him telepathically instead. The training also changed him physically over time as Eris lowered the power of the psychic barriers his arm began to transform into something else. The skin on his arm developed into a scale like texture that seemed to be quite durable and the new change had also made the arm physically stronger. Claws grew out on the tip of his fingers and were sharp enough to leave marks but Rain decided to never uses them intentionally. The arm itself was now mostly covered in black scales and the old wound was now a deep purple scar, the inside of his palm and his fingers also had the same purple coloring and seemed to be constantly glowing, the strength of the glow appeared to be linked to several factors. Those include how much focus Rain was putting into it, Rain's own stamina and emotional state, and presence of some important objects (like Shadow pokemon or an area covered in shadow energy). Even though the wound had healed Rain still felt some pain around shadow energy if Eris lowered the protective barriers to much. Because of this drastic change Rain displayed discomfort with his arm, hiding it from other people more than he did before when it was just a bleeding wound but he needed to hide it from public eyes which were a problem now that the arm had changed so drastically so it tore up the right sleeve of his jacket so he fixed it by ripping the sleeve off and wrap pieces of leather around it.
Rain was just about to leave route 113 when he suddenly felt something or someone with shadow energy nearby, the source of the energy was a boy who was followed by an absol. Rain reacted on instinct and commanded Eris to attack the boys mind and hold him in place, this proved to be a bad idea as the absol attacked the espeon relentlessly but before it could deal a lethal blow Rain jumped in and grabbed the absols horn with his newly changed arm and threw the dark type into its trainer. The strange boy now freed from the espeons psychic hold got up and then rushed forward and attacked Rain who also rushed in fists first. After trading a few blows the boy shouted that he was not an enemy and the fight stopped as suddenly as it had started. Explaining himself the boy named Jacob told Rain that he had a vision of him and the other members of team Emerald meeting up in a cave in the nearby area. Hearing this Rain realized that it may be the same place he received coordinates to not too long ago by that strange signal. By simply waving at him to fallow Rain first took Jacob to Fallbor town so they could heal their pokemon and then the two began to look for the cave that Jacob had seen in his vision.
Pokemon List
Espeon (Rains translator and guardian of sorts, she protects him from the shadow energy inside his mind)
Espurr (is later going to be a psychic support booster for Eris so she can protect several people at once since she usually only tends to one person at a time)

Thanks Dredd for all the talking with me you did to help me figure out how to go about this.
Spoiler:
I came in like a wrecking ball...
Spoke to JD about this. Jacob is moving to Emerald with the closing of Ruby (Poor Emerald)!
In the final days of Scope's life, the team took on the trick house, in which Jacob was the first to escape. Since this was the only chance he would have alone, he used it to follow some Coordinates given to him by Team Magma after he made a deal with them in secret, which lead to an abandoned underground research facility. In there Jacob found a strange stone, and after touching it, saw a glimpse of the legendary pokemon Deoxys before blacking out.
Whilst unconcious, Jacob had a vision of the future, in which Deoxys had been corrupted and made a shadow pokemon. Everyone from Team Ruby but Magnus and Jacob had been killed, and Magnus was then brutally murdered in front of his eyes. Little did he know that this stone had corrupted his mind with Shadow energy.
When in Mauville, Jacob along with the rest of Team Ruby witnessed Scope Sacrifice his life to save many people, and was deeply impacted by it.
After moving on, Jacob began blacking out regularly, having more and more visions. He also began to show signs of paranoia, feeling as if he was being stalked. Every so often he would see deoxys in the corner of his eyes, though this was the shadows that infected his mind becoming present.
Then it happened. Hoenn was attacked, and thrown into all hell.
Team Ruby and Sapphire joined the armed forces in fighting back, however Jacob was not allowed. Due to his mental history, regular blackouts and paranoia, he was deemed mentally unfit to be involved in such a war. He left the group, trying to find some way to help elsewhere.
The first place he went was Fortree City to see that Phoebe (not of the elite four. Friend from school) was okay. Fortree wasn't hit too badly. The trainers there were strong, and they had the environmental advantage. Phoebe was shaken up a bit but not too hurt. However she showed Jacob something he wished he didn't have to see. The list of confirmed dead in the attack. Under Lilycove, he saw a few names of people who were in his graduating class, but they meant nothing to him. It was his father's name that stood out most from the list.
Jacob travelled to Lilycove as fast as possible, making his way to the ruins of his old home. The house where he grew up had been torched. There were blood stains on the pavement outside. He only stayed a few minutes, knowing he had no more reason to be in Lilycove any more. Every reason he had to be there was gone. Burnt to ashes. There was only one place he could go.
Jacob travelled to Mauville, and found himself knocking on the door or a house he hoped he wouldn't have to. The house of a woman who left him and his father when he was an infant to start a new family. His mother. He hated her for what she did, but had no other choice right now. Jacob needed to rest and to come up with some idea of where to go.
When his mother answered the door, it took her a few seconds to recognise him. it had been over fifteen years since she left. Before he could speak, Jacob said two simple words that changed the situation.
"Dad's dead."
Elizabeth and Noah (Jacob's Mother and Stepfather) took Jacob in, and he officially met his siblings for the first time. Jamie who was eight, Melody who was six, and a few days later, Laura who was fifteen and had only returned home from her own travels. Jacob got along well with Laura, Jamie and Sally, and even Noah. However there was a space between him and Elizabeth as he avoided talking to her whenever he could. He wasn't ready to forgive her yet. Jacob lived with his new family for 3 and a half months. He spent this time mourning the loss of his father and Scope, whilst training to avenge them.
The blackouts and visions never stopped, nor did the hallucinations of Deoxys. He kept seeing visions of people in different places and situations. After a few weeks he had learnt all of their names from what other people had said. Rain, Joseph, Reggia, Emma, Clea and Lucian. The one constant place he always saw was a cave. Meteor Falls. This was the only direction he had.
Eventually Jacob knew he couldn't wait any longer. He had to go to Meteor Falls. When he informed Elizabeth and Noah he was leaving, Elizabeth gave him something. A Pokeball.
"I know this can't possibly make up for what I did. Sixteen years is a long time, and I should have done more. But this is the best way I can say I am willing to try and make amends."
She didn't say where she got the Pokeball, but it contained an Absol.
Jacob left his new family in Mauville city, and folllowed his visions westward to Meteor Falls...
Whilst traveling on Route 113, the Shadow Energy that infected his mind made itself present, due to the presence of another infected person nearby. Rain. Rain felt the disturbance as well. Jacob had a slight glimpse into the future again, but before he could say anything to Rain, felt what felt like a knife in his head. Out of panic, Rain had his Espeon attack Jacob's mind.
Jacob responded with Absol, who very quickly disposed of Espeon, however continued to savagely attack it, near killing it if not for Rain intervening. Rain grabbed Absol using the shadow infected arm, and threw him into Jacob. Absol's blade cut Jacob across the torso. Getting tired of this, Jacob ran at Rain, throwing a punch, that he caught with the infected hand, and began to squeeze. Jacob headbutted rain in the face knocking him back, and finally was able to talk some sense into Rain.
After explaining his visions of Rain and the rest of Team Emerald, they agreed to travel together to Meteor Falls.

After the group split up following the events of the burning town, Clea asked Emma if she wanted to travel with her. However, Emma declined, saying that there was something she had to take care of. She left without giving Clea any details of her destination, but both had the other's PokéNav number if they really needed it. Clea was a little scarred by what she had seen in that town, as well as the fact that so early into their journey, they had lost two team members. It was a horrifying experience, and her mind remained a tomb for the memories she held from it.
Clea didn't like travelling on her own, which resulted in her having out at least two of her pokemon at one time. One was always Fyn, her faithful marshtomp who had been with her the longest. Along the way to Rustboro, she met a few travellers who she thought she might like to hit the road with, but after being double-crossed and having her money and half her supplies stolen while she slept by someone she had been travelling with for three days, she began to lose trust in the general public. Had Fyn not woken up when he did, the same thief could have taken off with her pokémon. Once she reached Rustboro, she defeated Roxanne and added her gym badge to her case.
However, travelling without her CYCLONE comrades just wasn't the same. She had made friends out of most of them, and the one she thought most about was Rain. He had always been in an unstable mindset due to the wrestle with shadow energy that he was constantly facing, and although she was glad for him that he would be able to find the old man he had been seeking, she also worried for him. She worried for all of them. Lucian had practically changed into a different person after the events with the Songbird Cultists, and she feared he would never recover.
Clea stayed in Rustboro for another week, merely trying to contemplate the best course of action. However, by the last night she stayed there, she realised that she felt lost without CYCLONE. It was the entire reason she came to Hoenn. She had mulled it over for a good few days, and she kept returning to the same conclusion: it was time to return home.
After catching a flight to Johto the following week, Clea returned to her home in Olivine City and stayed with her parents for the following four and a half months. At first she found it difficult to sit still, so she volunteered at a pokémon shelter on the other side of the city. She grew close to the people who worked and volunteered there as she did, as well as some of the pokémon with whom she constantly interacted. Her pokémon ran around freely at her parents' house in their backyard, and every few days Clea would take them for walks and training sessions by the beach. Septimus evolved into a breloom and Fyn evolved into a swampert, who she had trained with well in water. He was an excellent swimmer and exceeded his species' average expertise just as successfully with her atop his back. Clea reunited with some of her old friends, telling them all about her journey around Hoenn and omitting the details which plagued her in her quiet time. It was nice to catch up and return home for a time, but she couldn't shake the feeling of having an enormous hole in her heart.
One day, after she got home from volunteering at the pokémon shelter, her mother greeted her at the front door to inform her about her PokéNav's relentless buzzing. She said she had tried to check the message in case it was important but did not know the password, so she had left it for Clea. When Clea returned to her room, she was ready for the many notifications to pop up, but there was only one. It was a message detailing coordinates to somewhere in Hoenn. The oddness of the message itself wasn't what shocked Clea, however; it was the fact that it was from Dr. Sarin. Sarin was missing.
The first thing Clea did was inform the shelter in person that she was unable to continue volunteering there. The administration wrote her a reference letter for her solid dedication and tireless work ethic, and asked her if, before she left for Hoenn, she wanted to adopt any of the pokémon at the shelter. There was one particular pokémon who she had grown attached to after she had shown nothing but a bitter attitude towards humans. Months of attention from Clea had softened her, however, and she was the one pokémon who Clea always looked forward to seeing, no matter what: a girafarig named Elo.
After receiving encouragement from her parents, Clea and her pokémon left for Hoenn and headed toward the west coast, where the coordinates had taken her. She had planned to take the path from Rustboro up to Meteor Falls, but had heard too many times how arduous the journey was. Instead, she decided to head towards Fallabor Town. With all the recent destruction in Hoenn, she found herself avoiding most of the main cities and steering clear of any trouble she could. Currently she treks through the ashes covering Route 113, wondering who and what she'll encounter once she reaches Meteor Falls.
Requirements:
Clea's marshtomp into swampert
Clea's shroomish into breloom
+ A girafarig
Awesome ! Ill get mine up today and we should be able to start this week !
