Well, other than that, I'm confused by the gym? If you don't want to do hard mode, can you just take on Roxanne without facing the gym trainers? Is that how it works?

Also, can we clarify evolution bonuses? I don't really get them :/ (or understand why they're necessary)

You can only use two pokemon in the gym. Thats why its the harder challenge !
