Question regarding the Gym Battle.

Concerning the Three vs Three Match (So you can only use three pokemon!)

The hard mode consists of 2 battles.

If I choose the hard mode does the only 3 Pokemon rule mean:
a) that same three Pokemon have to be used in both battles; or
b) each battle can use any 3 Pokemon?

I need to know before I challenge the gym.

It means you can only use 3 pokemon for both battles. I would focus on flying types !!!
