For the same reasons as above, too. Hatched Pokemon do get the Birth Ribbon to play with (which is good), but the Gift pack sounds better in all aspects.
In other news, I am about to do some awesome verbal smack-down with Dresden against Magnus. Well, hopefully awesome, anyways. Awesomeness is in the eye of the beholder.
