X and Y has a very limited amount of pokemon. My concern was putting out to many pokemon from x and y would take away from any later chance of getting one. really I knew people were seeking out the starters and I thought the first batch would make people happy.

Fair reasoning, despite the fact that it kills the Katie. Am I correct when I pick up implications that we can get other Kalos 'mons like Goodra sometime in the future?

Yes there will eventually be another x and y event with the some of the others like the snot dragon :)
