That's what I like about these Mystery Dungeon games. It's fun to try guessing what happens, but it's very unpredictable at times. Yeah some parts are, but the most part it keeps you guessing.
From what I remember, Gates actually had the highest Famitsu scores. While Explorers of Sky was the lowest I believe at 34 or 35/40. I'd have to look back at that.

Sky was the LOWEST!? Sky was awesome, the amount of after storyline content was enormous, it was practically a whole new undertaking in its own. After the original credits roll, heck, you practically had a whole new game to play.
Plus the extra side missions were great. Playing as Team Charm was absolutely hilarious, although the whole cave exploration thing was kind of dry and didn't really seem to fit with that whole team's personality. The one where you play as Grovyle and Dusknoir teamed up also put in a whole new component into the storyline, which was definitely interesting to explore.
Sky having the lowest score... pft, that's just ridiculous.
Yeah Sky got a 35/40 while B/R rescue Team and Explorers of Darkness and Time both got a 36/40. Gates got a 38/40 (it was a Famitsu review on some other site so it may not be accurate).
I prefer Sky over the others just because it IS those games with tons more content. So I dunno why it's worth giving it a point less than the others.

There's very few people who wouldn't prefer sky over the others. I played both time and darkness, so I wasn't new to the story. Then I got sky, and it was a whole new (world) game. It blew my mind even if I did know the main story already. I wonder what the reviewers didn't like about it.
Well, it is Famitsu (which seem to really like Pokemon and always give it good reviews). I guess it was the rehash thing is all. They never expected a extended version of a spin-off. Frankly at the time neither did I. I even found it was a vast improvement from how the game ran, new areas, faster saving, more story, etc. I could see it easily making a better rating than the previous two. Hopefully I can find both Famitsu reviews later and find out why.

Yeah, I'm honestly surprised, because I felt Sky was everything that was great about Darkness/Time with so, so much more stuff to enjoy.
Usually I don't bother with the third release of a Pokemon generation, but Sky was a definite must have. And even though I had already played through Darkness before, the game is so good that I honestly enjoyed going through all of it again and then some afterword.
Well Pokemon decided to try and start the 20th Anniversary year strong with an actual Pokemon iOS and Android game next year. Hopefully we hear much more soon for the upcoming year. On future games as well such as main series. I expect some big stuff.
Still holding out hope for the PSMD N3DS (possibly even XL since they are doing it with the Zelda one) State side xD.
Edit: woah I just did more research on PSMD and reminded myself what Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde were based off of. Seeing as we keep seeing that tree in the trailer (and the one on the cover art), it being based around something called the Yggdrasil Tree would make sense that the other Mystery Dungeon worlds are in the game if so since that tree would be the connection between the supposed "9 worlds."

That's a lot of worlds, which is of course a good thing. Still, while in the world of fiction this isn't really odd, but just how does one pronounce yggdrasil?
There are two pronunciations that I've heard. It's ancient Norse mythology, so I don't know which is real, if either, but I've heard it as:
ig (like fig) dri (like drill) zil (like Godzilla)
Or
Eeg (like eek, but with a g) dri zil.
(I actually did a research paper on Norse Mythology.)
