    Scars!

    Scars!

Love 'em? Hate 'em? Have any? Have many? List them here! Tell me where they came from and why you like or dislike them! :D

    I have a few...

    1. On my scalp - this was a doctor's fault. He scraped my head with a utensil when I was being induced. (Got my first scar before I was born! xD)
    2. Middle finger - on my right hand, I have a scar on my middle finger where I tried to wrestle a stanley knife off of one of my brothers when we were kids. He had the plastic end. I tried to pull on the blade. I was such a bright child.
    3. Right knee - I have two scars on this knee, actually. One was when I was about 5/6 and I wanted to ride my bicycle without the training wheels. I fell off and scraped my knee and it scarred. xD
    4. The second scar is to the left of the knee, and it was from rolling around in mud when I was 14. I encountered some broken glass. Or, rather, it encountered me.
    5. Upper right arm - I reached past a star picket and one of the points scratched across my arm.
    6. Underside of my chin - When I was little...like, 3 or 4, I was hiding under these steps we used to have in the house which had "cleverly placed" nails sticking out from underneath. When I went to slide back out, my chin caught on a nail and ripped it open. Yay.

A have a few little/faded ones that I either don't know the cause of or were from my cat, but those are the main ones. xD

What are everyone else's scars?! And how did they come to be?

If we're talking physical scars I've got technically 4 but one can be classified as a birth mark so I'm not sure.

    1. Right breast- probably my favorite scar and the most infamously known one amongst my friends. When I was… in middle school I guess, there was this odd growth that started appearing on my right breast and at first the doctors just said it was puberty (which was BS since I started puberty like a year or two prior to this), but otherwise we really didn't know what it was or what caused it. Then one doctor claimed it was a cyst and might be cancerous so I had to get it surgically removed. They gave me four shots and I still felt the entire thing when they cut it open. Why? Because it wasn't a cancerous cyst. It was a growth of nerves. Very active, very sensitive nerves. They literally just ripped out a clump of nerves out of my breast and we like "oh well". To this day, I have left sensitivity in that breast. Half the time if something touches or hits it I just don't feel it and we know exactly why. Needless to say, it scarred. The skin's softer where they cut me open and it's slightly deflated as well as a whiter color than the rest of my chest.
2 & 3) My knees- so my freshmen year of high school I dislocated my left knee cap. I had to go through therapy and I ended up straining both my knees terribly by over exerting them. As a result, both knees are now permanently bruised. They're a blueish purplish color and it's not that bad unless you stare but they've been there for four years so I think they're scars.
    4) My scalp- so, I was a c-section baby because I got stuck. Apparently during that process, the contractions damaged my skull and it's supposed to incapacitate a child but instead my skull turned out just find except this one part on the top of my head where it dents in. At that same spot is a small red mark that doctor's have classified as the birthmark the angel's kiss.

I've got two important ones. There's one on my left knee, which was from when I was about eight. I tripped and fell on my knee on a gravel driveway, and it tore that thing up. I really should have gotten stitches, but my family and I were kind of just "... Eh." The second major scar I've got is on my right shin, an almost perfectly circular one. I slipped and fell in a small bamboo forest type thing while I was camping, where people had the tendency to just cut down as much bamboo as possible, leaving the decidedly sharp stumps in the ground. So, what happens when 11 year old me slips in there during a game of hide and seek?

Well, I'll tell you what wasn't happening. Walking, for the next few weeks.

So unfortunately, (and I don't tell many people this as it is pretty gross), I am a compulsive picker. Any sores or scabs, I have to pick. It is so hard not to. Because of this, just about every cut I get turns into a scar.

    Main ones that stand out.
    1. Long scar on left elbow. I fractured my elbow 13 years ago, and had to have surgery on it to pin it together then more surgery months later to remove them. Looks pretty badass.
    2. Small scar on my eyelid. I have these weird white fatty things on my right eyelid. I've had them for years. It is possible to pop them like a zit, except due to the eyelid being so delicate and hard to handle, it is near impossible. I have been trying to get rid of them for years and have only gotten rid of one. I tried to get rid of the second by breaking the skin and making a sore, hoping I could hold off picking at it until it healed. However as usual I broke so now there is a small scar.
    3. Small scar from a cut I received sometime in the last twelve months.
    4. Small scar on my wrist from when I accidentally cut myself at work.

I only have three scars that stand out. since everyone is doing it in list form...

    1. I have a scar on my right foot that I got from ringworm when I was very young.
    2. I have another scar on my right foot that I got when I was like, five. I was in preschool and I tripped and scraped the front of my ankle. I don't know how exactly, but I remember much tears.
    3. I have a light scar about half way between my elbow and the inside of my elbow. I think it's from my dog scratching me.
    4. I have a few very faint or small scars on my knees from when I used to trip and scrape them a lot. I don't even remember where exactly they are all from, especially considering most of them were faint to begin with and have faded over time.

I have one on the top of my left hand; it's tiny and looks like a weird spoon. Or maybe a brush or something, Idk. Anyway, there's a fun story behind it: In January 2010, my entire tenth grade (I was in a tiny private school; there were fewer than ten people in my grade) went to study in a sister school in upstate NY for a month. One of the things we studied was some form of chemistry—I can't remember the specific category. At some point, our teacher put a tiny bit of hydrochloric acid on our hands. After a few seconds (he wanted to wait until it started burning), we were to immediately wash it off. I was a bit too late, and voila! I got a scar.

There's also one around my hip area. I got it from my friend pulling me off the stairs of a wooden playground set back in eighth grade. I was still sitting as he did so and slid off. The set pretty much scraped my sides. It hurt like hell x_x

    Honestly...very few scars here.

    1. Is on my left arm from when I was pretty young (can't remember exact age), but I tried grabbing something off a high shelf in a store and my arm caught on one of the iron barrings (that prevent items from falling off) and scratched my arm up about the mid point a good 3 inches length. Still can barely see the lining today.

    2. On a more recent note (2012) I had a lung collapse. To fix it, I had the get a tube placed in my chest wall for a while. So I have surgery scars. Right side of my chest still today has some scars left behind from where the doctor had to cut me open to place the tube. Yeah it was stitches back together after it was removed, but the scars remain!

    The time is upon us...
