I think you really do have to be patient. I mean, put yourself in others' shoes--when have you ever bid on a person's character on DeviantART? Personally I don't have a spare $10 (or more) to spend on DA art. D: It's not surprising that after only a day there hasn't been any bidding, because like Latias said, you're probably not known enough at this point, and people have food to spend their money on, or bills, or what have you. I don't know, I just think that you need to wait, or spread them around more, or something.
