    First Pokemon Memories: Chakramaster

Pokemon is celebrating 20 years as a franchise and we are celebrating by sharing some of our forum member’s first Pokemon memories. After all, when else will you be able to reminisce in some of your first fondest Pokemon moments.
This time we are featuring Chakramaster and their love for Pikachu. This electric rodent Pokemon has been with Chakramaster for a long time and is the reason why they are such a devoted Pokemon fan. Read below to see how Pikachu has pulled Chakramaster through the good times and the bad times.

Well it’d be a seriously long story for something like that to be answered. Long enough to need to be blogged lol. So here’s a short, cut, and easy version.
I started out with Pokemon Blue. Everyone here knows my favorite now, but back in Blue era….my favorite was Blastoise. It wasn’t until a year later I got stuck with Pikachu. After that everything was Pikachu for me. I got the special Pikachu Gameboy Color (with Yellow Version). Pikachu plushes, rings, cards, T-Shirts you name it. First movie came out and seeing Pikachu on the big screen made me one small giddy little kid lol. Enough to smile so much I had it basically trying to hide right in the back of someone’s head in the theatre (seriously no joke I remember being pulled back by my dad in the theatre because I was all over them without them even noticing). My brother couldn’t stop laughing at me either.
After being “out” of Pokemon for awhile around the Ruby/Sapphire gen….it’s all really thanks to the Mystery Dungeon games for pulling me back in. Seriously again the whole thing with Pikachu kicked in again (even though the online version of the test gave me Machop). The first time playing the actual game I got Pikachu. After PMD Explorers of Darkness…I’d say officially I made Pokemon one of my games to play again.

Honestly I could have provided way more to that story too! Pokemon has a long history with me and so many more. Yeah yeah xD Pikachu is my number 1! Couldn't just turn on the little guy (or girl) now! Honestly the only reason I picked up Mystery Dungeon while being "out" of Pokemon was because of Nintendo Power and how they showcased the game and the fact they introduced "YOU" as the next new Pokemon. It made me think, "just how much different could this game be and....what would it be like to be a Pokemon. Hey, now I can finally be a Pikachu!." Even though I was reluctant as all and worried someone would see me buying it. I managed to buy it and give it a chance. The story alone sold me (since I didn't play it with sound up often).

Luckily come the next ones Explorers I played it with sound on and everything and got the full effects to the game and there you have it! I was sold on sticking with the series from then on. Trainer or Pokemon, it didn't matter.

    The time is upon us...

There's something about that yellow electric mouse that says "you love me, spend money on my everything!" And boy did I do that! XD

You're not alone, I still have tons of Pikachu stuff also and I haven't exactly stopped getting more lately. XD

Damn. Pokemon did an amazing job in picking a mascot for Pokemon.

And damn yes. I am looking at Pokemon Center website and staring at the Chef Pikachu and thinking about all my other Pikachu plushes at home. I shouldn't buy them but I want them!!!

Also, thanks for sharing your story!

My first Pokemon memory begins not long before Red/Blue's arrival in the USA.

I had just received my newest issue of Disney Adventures in the mail, and the ad on the back intrigued me--a bunch of weird creatures about to be caught in a giant net. One of those creatures stood out to me--a tiny yellow mouse with a thunderbolt tail. I kept the little guy in mind as I put the finished magazine with all my back issues.

The next day at school, I asked one of my best friends what this "Pokemon" thing was that was taking the school (a middle school, to be clear) by storm. He showed me a figurine of the mouse creature, and told me its name was "Pikachu".

He spent the rest of the period telling me all about "Pikachu"s world and the weeks ticked by to release day. The Friday before, I saw the famous bus commercial on TV, and that was that--I got Blue that weekend.

The rest, as they say, is history!
Everyone has a dream that fills their heart. A journey they must take. A destiny to fulfill. As close as your imagination exists a magical place, where wondrous creatures with incredible powers help make dreams come true. It's the world of Pokemon!!"

Oh I didn't mind sharing at all! It's a great time for us all to share these great stories! 20 years of stories to tell! =D

Yeah all those special Pikachu....I want them all, but I'd go broke before I'd even find space for more or before I even buy them all. Even if I did there would be more on the way next month xD

I remember first seeing Pokemon on TV. A commercial on Kids WB in the morning. I didn't have any ads in a magazine that I had (I wasn't subbed to Nintendo Power until sometime about 4 years later). It is really interesting to hear everyone else's story about how they found "Pokemon." I guess to some, Pikachu just has that great appeal huh?
