Lol well it'd be interesting to see. I can't make one right now as it is without brushes. It'd look a bit plain if I did xD

Some very silly people are very anti-brush for some reason, which to me, is like complaining that someone used a hammer and nails to build a house. To me, brushes have always been tools, and relying on them alone doesn't even create something very good (hammer and nails don't do anything on their own, you need the wood, know-how, and be aware of good implementation practices to really make them work to their full potential).

I'm not even sure if it can really be called a gift. It's really all about passion, dedication, and commitment to building skill. I'm sure Gemma's been doing art for many, many years, and all that practice, time, dedication, and desire for improvement is what allowed her to become as good as she is today.

Try since I was five. :p Although I didn't draw as much as I do now back then, and I kinda sucked ahaha. But I was always good for my age, even if I look back now at how terrible it was. xD I was told my mum used to draw - she wanted to be a fashion designer. But then she had my brother and I and that kinda flew out the window. Although no matter how many times I asked her, she'd never draw something for me. I guess she didn't wanna drag up memories of what she could've had? I dunno. 3:

@Chakramaster Your banners aren't bad, but there's definitely room for improvement. You know I see a LOT of people making the same mistake, where they treat text as text rather than imagery. But you see when you combine text with imagery, the text automatically becomes a part of that image. So when you look at a banner or something, the text shouldn't just look like it's been 'dumped' onto it. In fact the text should help it flow, and make it look better. If the text doesn't make it better, then what is it doing there in the first place? We learned in design that each element should enhance a piece, or you don't need it.

Which do you think looked the best and why out of curiosity? Ok, a Neo and Gem Photoshop tutorial sounds like it would be perfect to help me learn more now xD

No. xD I mean THINK of text as an image (of course you're still gonna create it with the text tool lol). So you can still add effects to it to blend it it, such as colour overlays and layer styles and whatnot. Btw you can rasterise text so it actually IS an image if you go to Type > Rasterize Type Layer (or whatever it says). That way you can erase and edit parts of it, if you want. :3

Uuuum... I think I like the very top one? xD Mainly for colour scheme, although it's a tad busy and the hierarchy is making my eyes implode ahaha. Also a good thing to do, once you've placed all your renders and text and stuff is to create a new layer and Apply the image, then throw a gradient map or photo filter over the top to blend it a little more. I'm pretty sure this is confusing for you so I'll have to do a tutorial. :p

Haha, yeah. Maybe a little tutorial would help one day xD. I have a little knowledge of PS, but it's not much. I've never really messed with text other than a select type and color I think.

The very top one? That....was the first one I ever made =3. xD yeah everything around it just looks....eye popping everywhere lol. Yeah I've still got a lot to learn really. Mine are all so basic really. I don't mess with the effects as much as I probably should.

Well every little bit helps right? So best to start off with the head/ears (which I kind of predicted xD), then body (so draw those lines across the face?), then arms/legs, then tail and facial features, then deepen the shading and extra features?

I will try it it sometime soon and let you see. Meanwhile it will still take a few attempts I gather xD. Maybe during one of your livestreams one day. Until then, this will probably be a BIG help =D thanks Gemma!
