I totally agree with you there. I don't have any handguns, mainly because in NJ, there's tons of extra paperwork involved and honestly, I'd rather have something that's got more stopping power like a shotgun or a rifle. I also have bigger hands, and having them all over a pistol just doesn't feel as comfortable.

I'm curious, what handgun do you have? The shotgun I have is a Mossberg 590A1 and the rifle is an AR-15. They both fire pretty well and my dad and I do great at the range. Cleaning the AR-15 isn't too hard and I've done it twice now, but the 590A is tricky business. I definitely need to study up on the YouTube video that shows how to clean it and put it back together again.

I have a Berreta 92FS. I think it's also known military wise as the M9? I've fired a few, including a Mossberg shotgun and an AR-15. I actually went to a shooting range for a shotgun a few years ago and came in second place by like a few milimeters. It was my first time shooting one too.

As for the handgun I tried a Berreta Storm and Berreta 91FS. I preferred the 91 over the Stofm because of the light weight, low recoil, and accuracy.

Sweet! Yeah, it's funny how you could buy guns for personal protection and then it kind of can turn into a hobby. :P

It's fun watching what a few slug shotgun shells can do a target. Those things can really rip it apart! And yeah, needless to say, that is NOT something I would want to get hit with.

Yeah and each different she'll type has a different type of spread just each shotgun is a bit different. The range we shot from was a bit more intimidating than I thought too. Luckily I almost won (it was a $10 entry and I would have won a $100 Walmart gift card xD. Oh well it was still fun!

My dad is crazy knowledgable about this gun stuff. So he's been trying to teach me, but I still have a bit of a hard time. It is something we should all learn though with how things are today.

I've been learning quite a bit about guns lately. They may seem very intimidating at first to people, but once you've been trained on the basics, tried firing it at the range, and learn about all the parts, it's really not a big deal. But yeah, I think everyone should just try it at least once to flush out the nonsense that movies, video games, and the media have stuffed in everyone's heads. If people still aren't crazy about them after that, then it's fine, but I think people can be very judgmental about them without giving learning a chance.

As for the shooting contest, better luck next time. You came close, so definitely don't pass up on the next opportunity!
