You're a mage. Playing on Siren.
That's ironically hilarious. xD
My best friend on there used to main Dragoon and paladin I think it was, but he swore that if they ever made a 2-handed sword class he would main it. They made it (Dark Knight) and he hit the max level for it in less than a week.
Personally I always loved the magic classes (even in FF the electric element is my affinity). I'm one of the few people that get something called Thundercloud (a random chance skill that activates after the use of an electric move). It makes it where there's no cast time on it and it increases the damage of the DoT electric effect, BUT it makes it so once it hits it deals all the DoT damage it would've dealt originally and places the DoT effect. Most times in a row I've gotten it has been 16. No lies. It used to be 12 until the expansion where they added a skill that ensures the activation

Never understood the Dragoon love. Always found that class to be so boring.
And holy crap, that sounds insane. I didn't like magic classes till I played Sorcerer in Tera. But I'll tend to choose archer classes in everything (even non-MMOs) and get tired halfway through and pick something else. Dragon's Dogma has the Magick Archer class which is probably my favorite class in any game ever.
Guys, can you believe we're actually having a normal conversation?
Usually I'm not big on magic classes. I've tried a few, especially during WoW, and I wasn't too crazy about them. VERY glass-cannon feeling. The idea of DPS from a distance sounds good at first, but usually soloing with a mage is not easy stuff.
Magic classes are the most fun for me honestly. Heck, some magic classes ARE close range based. So they get in close on the action either way sometimes.

I don't really like WoW's caster classes. Too immobile and really just worsens the game's grindy-ness in general. I too am a mage type of player; melee just ain't my style.
Melee is sometimes just too basic for me. Unless it's specific to the game and really unique melee just isn't the class for me most of the time. In Vindictus though, the first mage class has a second primary weapon. A scythe which is my absolute favorite class in that game.

Scythe. SCYTHE. I don't care if it's a farming tool. It's my favorite weapon in anything.
