Hello.

There's a stray cat that keeps hanging out under my dad's car. I have no idea where he came from, but he doesn't have a collar or anything like that. Meanwhile, he's been hanging around our place for at least a few weeks now. We don't feed him anything, so I wonder if he's still going to stick around or if eventually he'll move on.

I kind of feel bad for him, though.

You said it's a stray right? My advice, just because of my experience with strays, if you have a lot of mice or squirrels or chipmunks in your area, you might want to keep it around. That's what my family does. I mean now we have the Hawks and coyotes but before they settled in we used the feral cats. We usually just left milk in a plate out on our back porch everyday with a little bit of cat food. It wasn't uncommon to find them hiding under our porch when it was raining either.

Yeah, we definitely have a LOT of squirrels and chipmunks around, and I saw him in the backyard ready to pounce on a chipmunk the other day. Usually we don't try to drive them away, though. The chipmunks make a lot of holes in the backyard, but they don't damage anything. We also don't grow anything in the backyard either (our neighbors do, but their stuff gets poached by them before it even ripens).

I don't want to call animal control. I have a feeling they'll just put the cat in a shelter and kill him if no one adopts him.
