Problem: I'm extremely vulnerable to jumpscares. EXTREMELY. And while I have watched earlier playthroughs of Alien Isolation without losing my mind (Isolation is a scary game to itself), I cannot tolerate jumpscares on that level.

Second Problem: The Jumpscares are one thing, but FNaF's plot itself is another. Short: Nobody wins! Oh, and the main villain aren't those aufully murderous animatronics-it's about a child murderer! Who works in a children's pizzeria! The dead kid's souls are haunting the suits and from the sounds of things it's not terribly fun for them! Oh, and they think you did it because you look like the murderer (or in one game, possibly are)! Enjoyable! And that is what is almost definitely explained. And that's ignoring the hallucinatory sequences and the entirety of 4. 4 is not only scary, but also depressing in a horrible, horrible way.

ON the other hand, this did birth one of the funniest fangames I have ever laid eyes to.

While I enjoy this fan game series with endless enthusiasm, we probably shouldn't discuss it. You know how the higher ups are with swearing. :P

Also, the scariest part of FNAF isn't the jumpscares, it's the anticipation for it. To quote SomeCallMeJohnny, "you are your own worst enemy." You don't want to get jumpscared, so you put up your guard, and unintentionally lower it at the same time, making the jumpscares more effective (at least, depending on the person). Heck, FNAF4 even forces you to put yourself on the edge in order to survive.
