Yay! Thanks Neo for the awesome banner and avi! The banner one looked familiar at first and I realized why xD it was the render in the ERR one too right? Still pretty awesome regardless :P
Lol well I wanted to, so I think I need to try it out sometime.
Honestly I think I'd be more into the RP stuff if I was able to interact with the others more often. Plus I think, like in your Hoenn RP I liked the idea of being something else other than just human (which is kinda why I'm still holding out hope for the PMD RP)

Yep, it's the same one. I tried a few other Pikachu renders, but I still think that one worked the best. It makes Pikachu look superior when you look at him from below. :D
But if you have another Pikachu render you want me to use, I could work with that one instead. :D
I could make a PMD RP. I feel like RPing Emolga anyway. :D
Or was there a specific PMD RP you were hoping for? When you say the PMD RP, it sounds like you're thinking of a specific one you have in mind.
Oh no this one is fine, I just noticed it looked familiar (says the guy who's seen what I would consider A LOT of Pikachu pictures/renders xD. I totally does and that's originally what I thought you were going for since you know me and Pikachu lol.
Well I thought you said at one time you wanted to work on one, but couldn't get it to work right. Honestly I think if one was started, depending on the turnout, teams would need to be set or we would need to form our own. It'd be more player dependent if say like Noble, you, and I were on a team because then we'd have to make posts and wait on each other before pushing too far. Somehow I'd love it to be like that, but I think it'd be a bit harder. it'd just be more fun that way. Either way a PMD RP at all sounds like it would be super fun! RPing as a Pikachu (outside of the chaotic PSG) would be super fun! :D
So no, no real specific one. If there's a story to come up with, then that's good enough.
Yeah ever since I got behind on your RP I kinda dropped off from it sadly. Itt was heck of a lotta fun while it lasted, it's just. One) I think I went the wrong direction with the whole Eevee and him first becoming a Furret xD. I didn't wanna just instantly drop with the Pikachu thing, but I think that was the wrong decision there lol...and 2) aside from kinda "pushing" my friend to join and things matching up to have him meet with my character for that short lived time...there wasn't any interaction or chance to interact with others. Would've been hard enough to lead it there too where I left off after the transition. After all that I dunno how to shift it over sadly to focus on what I wanted without it seemig like I'm breaking the rules where "everything just goes his way."

Ah, no problem about the banner, just wanted to make sure. :)
The whole PMD: Striders of the Stars thing was something I had to drop because of how messy it was becoming with stats, attacks, dungeon layout, and all that junk. But after seeing how GCEA works, I think a PMD rendition based off of a simplified system like that would be the only way it could be possible (GM-led adventures, simplified battling/leveling system, more focus on RP than stats/mechanics, etc). There would still be some pretty significant differences, though. If anything, I would use GCEA's system as a catalyst, and build and change off of that accordingly to fit a PMD environment. GCEA makes it so much more simplified and this was exactly what PMD: SotS needed (and it just never came to me at the time). Some items, like the orbs, seeds, and berries would appear, but some of the other stuff like Max Elixir, TMs, and stuff like that wouldn't be needed as moves/specific attacks aren't really taken into account. Battling would also have to be changed a lot as player characters would be expected to take on a lot more enemy Pokémon, something more akin to the PMD games, as characters only have themselves and not a whole team of Pokémon to rely on. So yeah, HP and inventory, aside from a few other things, would really be the only thing you need to keep on your stats card.
Dungeon exploring wouldn't feel so randomized and tedious either. There would be landmarks, NPCs and buildings you encounter along the way, specific events that happen, and the Pokémon you rescue or bring to justice bear much more significance to the ongoing, GM-led storyline. Also, there would be only one guild, but the upgrades and additions could be worked toward by everyone. But the same way GCEA is run with GMs, this would need to be handled the same way.
The more I got into GCEA, the more it opened my eyes up that yes, PMD: SotS could have been possible if I implemented something similar in style. And heck, I wouldn't mind being the GM in this case. Even if I didn't directly go on adventures, it would be fun to play a seer/sage Emolga character that hangs out in the guild and has clairvoyance and a special prophetic-like power that initiates the adventures that the player characters go on and the storyline occurrences that the players get to be a part of.
Meh, I just wish I thought of all this earlier. It would feel very much like GCEA's PMD-themed cousin, but it would still be very plausible. Sigh.
Yeah for sure everything will have their differences to compensate for making it look or act more like PMD rather than a trainer bases RP adventure. Heck if you want or ever need it, throw some idea my way and I can throw some your way to help try to get it going if you want.
Dungeon exploring is where I get stumped right off. Cause even if as you say, there would be landmarks/buildings/NPCs or such, it still seems random. Cause if the player doesn't go the way you intended it to, then it's time to come up with a new idea =3.
Yeah in a way it could. There's certain things that seem really interesting in how to run something big like that. Well just because you may GM doesn't mean you couldn't make an additional character to participate. I mean, you may get a small advantage in planning that way, but you could still participate as your much wanted Emolga that way while having a different Pokemon be the one "GMing" or leading the guild.
Oh well, now that you/we know ideas can just flock off like crazy now. The possibilities are limitless! Doesn't mean it's pointless to try something now
