Name: Nikolina 'Niko' Vale

Appearance: Niko didn't care very much about appearances, leading to her constantly looking messy or rumpled. She had rather short light brown hair, usually somewhat frizzy, and bright blue eyes. Clothing she picked out was usually for comfort and practicality, rather than fashion or the like. Most of the time she's seen wearing a slightly worn white-blue t-shirt, and green cargo pants containing no less than four pockets, and some rather muddied sneakers. When it gets colder, she usually also puts on a charcoal and black colored hoodie, and a dark purple scarf.
Niko is a casual contest-goer. When she does participate in a contest, she changes into what's more or less the only good clothing she has. That clothing is a white longsleeves shirt, and black dresspants.
She keeps all of her things in a black backpack. The backpack looks old, and is close to bursting most of the time, but it hasn't yet, and is therefore sturdier than it looks.
In terms of height and weight, Niko is about 5'4", and weighs somewhere around 116 pounds.

Current State: Currently she is an Eevee. The two of her Pokemon that are 'eons are greatly amused by this.

Personality: Niko can be a bit blunt and to the point when sharing her criticisms and observations. Most of the time she is rather honest, and has accidentally hurt people with her honesty before. She is, for the most part, outgoing and friendly. If you manage to upset her, she will hold a grudge against you, but her grudges rarely last for extended periods of time. While holding a grudge against you, she will probably ignore you unless it's a life-or-death situation.
While friendly with most people, Niko considers there to be a difference between people she is friendly with, and people who are actually her friends. Niko will do favors without hesitation for a friend, but she's a bit more cautious about what she does for other people. She considers someone a friend if they've known each other and mutually been friendly for a few months or years.
Niko's a bit dense about people flirting with her, and sometimes does not notice it. When she does notice it, she'll probably ignore it anyways as she is not particularly into romance, nor does she have any interest in dating or having a relationship with anyone,
When it comes to Pokemon Niko uses, she more or less uses any Pokemon that strikes her fancy at the time of capture. She likes to have a good relationship with her Pokemon, and generally enjoys walking about with them outside their poke balls.

History: Niko was born to parents who, because of their jobs, had to spend a lot of time outside of the house. Because of this, they gave Niko a Pokemon to watch over her while they were gone, and keep her out of trouble. That Pokemon was Marina, a swanna who would eventually become the first member of Niko's team.
While Niko and Marina were alone at home, Niko usually ended up watching the television as it showed Pokemon Contests. She had shown some interest in battling at a young age, but contests captivated her. She found the idea of winning a battle with strategy, style, and flair to be a fascinating challenge at a young age.
At about nine years old, she decided to begin preparing her future Pokemon team. She found a Wurmple, and captured it, trying to train it up to someday become a Beautifly. Instead it evolved in Cascoon, but kept it anyways as it had already grown rather attached to her, and she to it.
Once she finally reached trainer age, Niko received a treecko as a starter, attracted to it for the Dragon typing it gained when its final evolution Mega evolved.
Niko journeyed through Hoenn, trying to participate in the Contests, and managing to win a few of them, but never actually making a name for herself or becoming truly successful. After a little while she decided to take a minor break from contests, and simply go about Hoenn seeing multiple sights. The Trick House was not on this list, but at the time she thought 'what harm could a short stop do'?
Now she knows better than to jinx these things.
