Not that simple. I have. Multiple times. It usually ends up with a needle in my hand, a ton of crying, and a lot more blood on the fabric than there was to begin with.

I've wanted to make my own cosplay for years but sewing is just a natural talent I do not have. I don't have the steady hands for it, I shake too much so I usually end up accidentally stabbing myself while sewing.

Ooh that's a really interesting way to do it, with the tape. I think I would even be worried about taping them haha!

You should try! You could make a cute Shaymin :D

Even if you don't turn out to be a natural plushie-making genius, sewing is a really useful skill. I got to impress a boy I liked by offering to sew up a hole in his favourite t-shirt. XD

Saw your edit... ouch! xD I am paranoid of needles so I'm always crazy careful. They still get me sometimes though :/

Are you trying hand sewing or machine sewing?

I don't think the tape should harm them if you want to try that. I put tape on my stuffed animals as a kid (not for pattern copying, just for random/weird reasons XD) and they were just fine afterward.

And yeah, getting stabbed with needles is kinda inevitable with plushing. xD I'm careful so it doesn't happen often, but every once in a while...

Yeah I distinctly remember the sewing badge from Girl Scouts being one of the few badges I didn't get with the troop. To explain, in Girl Scouts (or Girl Guides I've heard they're called outside the states?), you usually work on badges during troop meetings and outside of them. It's rare to not succeed in getting the badges you work on during the meetings, but sewing was one of them and I was bullied relentlessly by my troop members because I stabbed myself in the finger with a needle and then started sobbing like a five year old. To be fair having a huge needle in your finger is not a great feeling.

My mom has offered to teach me to sew, we just always ran into the little problem of my not steady hands. Maybe this summer I'll be able to sit down with her and learn.

Haha that's cute. xD I used to put texta makeup on my dolls. o_O Sadly didn't come off that easily. XD

I had to sew up a hole in my brother's jeans a few weeks ago. It was really difficult as it was in the leg and I couldn't see anything. xD I was so scared of stabbing myself! Like 2 days later he went and tore an even bigger hole in another spot, so that was a waste of time haha.

Girl scouts always sounded like fun. We had girl guides here but I never joined. My friend was a member and I went to one of the "bring a friend" nights and we had to dress as aliens. That's all I remember haha. Maybe you could try knitting or crochet instead! I have made crochet Pokemon before. It's a lot less dangerous (no needles! xD)

It was fun when the girls weren't being jerks. Once they left the troop and I took over with my mom it was actually a lot of fun! Though I never did appreciate having to sell cookies in the freezing winter. XD Lots of good memories with my mom though! I could but I can't knit cosplay... probably. I mean, my mom has offered to teach me how to sew both on a machine and by hand, but she wants to start me with hand first because she said it's easier and more useful to learn how to do it by hand than by machine because machines are expensive as hell and can't always do the job.

People are always jerks. I played a lot of sports growing up and had to deal with the same sort of thing. I was really quiet though which somehow kept me out of most of the drama. xD

Yeah that's fair enough on her wanting you to learn by hand first. I was actually REALLY surprised by how easy machine sewing is though! I've only done it like 3 times and it was so simple and quick. I was amazed. xD I'd love to learn to make clothes, too. I've been keeping an eye out for nice fabric at the second hand store to make a skirt or dress :D

I was a really common bullying target for some reason that to this day perplexes me. Maybe it was because I was really trusting? I don't know. All I know is, if someone's mean to me I'm either mean back or start crying.

I've seen her use the machine before and she's said I'm getting it as inheritance but Mom said I'm more likely to have a needle and thread lying around in an apartment than a sewing machine.

I would accidentally get pen marks all over mine. XD I'd be writing stories and the ink would get on my hands then on the plushies. Luckily we had a good way of washing it off.

That does sound really difficult; there are some spots that are just really hard to sew because of how the pieces fit together.

Aww :) Did you act out your stories too? xD I don't know what I was trying to do haha.

Yeah, I didn't do a very good job, but luckily he wasn't too fussy about it being super neatly sewed. xD

Poor kid-Noble :( I cry really easily, mostly when I get angry. It's so annoying because people think you're upset but I'm like NO, THIS IS RAGE!

That's cool that you get it as inheritance! My mum has an antique sewing machine. I don't think she's ever used it, it's more of a decoration. But I think it still works. I'll have to try it one day!
