Lol I did a bad bad thing on my sapphire and had to restart due to mass deaths. I'm doing pretty good on White 2 though! I'll update tomorrow/later today

TODAY IS NOT A GOOD DAY.

You guys know how it often works with a Nuzlocke. You've got a team of six. Everyone's caught up to the level they need to be. You're feeling perfectly happy with your team and can see yourself with every member at the end of the Elite Four.

Unfortunately, you know that Nuzlocke isn't like that. But you ignore this anyway.

The most tragic deaths are often the ones that take you by surprise. In this case, it was in Mossdeep Gym. A double battle, with a Kadabra and... a Wobbufett.

I was busy training my newly obtained Snorunt, Fedora, who was now level 38. Axol, my Swampert, was helping out. I think you can see where this is headed.

We managed to take out the Kadabra with a mixture of Crunch and Mud Shot, but the Wobbufett was worrying us. Reluctant to use Fedora to take out the Wobbufett, Axol tried to lower its HP and defense with Rock Smash. It used Counter to hit back, and so we thought that it wouldn't use Mirror Coat if we tried a Surf. How wrong we were.

We watched as Axol's life was sucked away, down into the abyss, back to the earth from which all living beings once formed.

It's always the most difficult having to bury your starter. But it happened in the worst of ways. A completely avoidable death. Whoever follows Axol has big shoes to fill - it'll take a while for the team to recover from this loss.

Right, I need a Pokemon to replace Swampert. I can either catch a Water type off of the coast of Lilycove or Mossdeep, or I have these Pokemon in the box. Above is my current team, so bear that in mind:

I'm really tempted to go with Poochyena just so I can have an easier time with the Mossdeep gym and Phoebe of the Elite Four, but I'll pick whichever Pokemon somebody suggests first.

So the options are:

• Lilycove / Mossdeep Water Type
• Spinda
• Poochyena
• Illumise
• Zigzagoon

What do?

Hmmm, I would go with Poochyena for the Gym Battle, but it is quite a frail Pokemon. Sad to hear about loosing your starter and they way you lost it. Good luck with Mossdeep!

Darn, you're right.

Sorry Digital, but I guess lack of a Surfer makes Poochyena a no go. I tried to combine the best of both suggestions though - I went to catch a Corphish in Petalburg City, so when it evolves I'll still have a Dark type, but a Surfer as well. I've never used a Crawdaunt before, so I'm interested in how it will serve me.

Also, I plan to be doing something very special for my next Nuzlocke...
