New Rumors ahead of E3

With E3 only a month away, new rumors have begun to surface about the future of Pokémon.

Since the Switch’s release and the announcement that Pokémon UltraSun and UltraMoon would be the final main series Pokémon games on the 3DS, a Pokémon game for the Switch has been on everyone’s minds. Pokkén Tournament has displayed what a main series game could possibly look like on the Switch, both in art and battling style. However, for the most part Nintendo has remained silent on a new Pokémon game prospect, until this week.

On Wednesday, May 15, rumors about a new Pokémon game for the Switch suddenly exploded. While there had been rumblings prior to this, it wasn’t until a logo went up on various messageboards around the Internet which showcases the name: Pokémon Let’s Go! Pikachu that the rumors came in full force. Following the alleged leaks on May 15, the next day, the website domains for Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee got registered by a company that has, in the past, been used by Nintendo to register domains, such as when Pokémon Sun & Moon were revealed in February 2016.

There are a variety of theories being discussed as to what these new games could possibly be. However, at this moment in time the most popular theory seems to be a set of Pokémon Yellow remakes given this is the twentieth anniversary of the game’s Japanese release. Nintendo has not made any comments about these theories, leaving fans speculating for now. It appears we will not get an official answer until E3.
