More pictures from the Detective Pikachu movie has been detected!

Detective Pikachu, the first Pokemon live action film, starring Ryan Reynolds in the title role, has recently begun filming, and thanks to a source at EverythingNintendo, we now have pictures from the set.

The source claims that there will be various changes from the original game, mostly in terms of characterization, but the film will surely open even new doors for the fanchise as the videogames make the move to the Nintendo Switch sometime within the next year.

In the photos shown by EN, we see large groups of people dressed in costume as various types of Pokemon. It’s of course unknown a this moment whether the extras are meant to be the Pokemon themselves, or if there may be some sort of festival going on in the city.

In other photos, you see someone in a full green jumpsuit, signifying Green Screen and CGI on location. Could this be a placeholder for Reynolds’ titular Pikachu?

Detective Pikachu, starring Ryan Reynolds, Justice Smith and Katherine Newton, is scheduled for release on May 10th, 2019. You can see the photos here.
