Podcasters Questionnaire: Lake of Rage #PokePodMonth2024

podcast questionnaire
This lake is raging with some TCG content!

It is Pokemon Podcast Month and we got some exclusive content from your favorite Pokemon podcasters! From GO, TCG, talk, to tabletop and beyond! We have sent out the classic Podcasters Questionnaire to see what your favorite Pokemon podcasters have to say about podcasting!

And today we have….Kevin Clemente from Lake of Rage to talk about podcasting and everything in between!

So what does the Lake of Rage have to say about…

What type of podcast do you have? Why do you make the type of podcast that you make?

Lake of RageKevin: We are a competitive Pokémon TCG podcast, I chose this type of podcast because I am a competitive player and for a while there were very few TCG podcasts when we started and there was a hole in the community that needed to be filled.

What drew you to the Pokemon franchise?

Lake of RageKevin: I grew up in the 90’s, we were all playing it.

What inspired you to podcast?

Lake of RageKevin: It was started as an addition to my Twitch streaming and YouTube channel and has stuck as my primary content because of the flexibility of the schedule compared to streaming.

What keeps you going when it comes to podcasting and Pokemon?

Lake of RageKevin: I continue to come back because I feel our podcast fills an important niche in the community. Tens of thousands of competitive players exist and unlike other podcasts that focus on the same 2-4 voices we do our best to get a diverse cast of temporary guest hosts to not only inform our audience but provide different prospectives in the community.

What kind of feeling do you wish your listeners to have when listening to your podcast?

Lake of RageKevin: Content, happy.

What is the hardest part when it comes to podcasting?

Lake of RageKevin: Editing, which is why our episodes are drastically under edited. haha

What has been the best Podcast moment you have had?

Lake of RageKevin: I’d say my best moments come from hearing people talk about how appearing on the podcast is a goal for so many and a sign of “making” it.

If you can suggest an episode of your podcast to a new listener, which episode would it be? Why?

Lake of RageKevin: Our episode about owning a card store and the importance of community in the game with Tabletop Village owner Brian Myers. (The Truth About Owning a Card Store)

What a great episode to suggestion! I remember listening to that episode. As a TCG player, I know owning a card shop has came across my mind a few times. So hearing this episode was really fun to listen.

Thank you for Kevin from Lake of Rage for answering our questions. We hope that you give Lake of Rage a listen if you haven’t already. If you are a listener then let us know!

Signing off! Until next time!
