Here’s the summary of the new announcements!
It’s the first of two big pokémon related announcements, ladies, gentlemen, fruits, and characters of all ages! I’m your host, NobleJanobii, and here’s the summary of events of today’s announcement!
The first announcement had to do with the languages the news is presented in. In addition to the usual Japanese and English, they planned to cater to more Chinese native speakers. As a result, the conference was presented in three languages.
The second announcement surrounded the arrival of Detective Pikachu to the Switch.
In addition, there will also be a new Pokémon Center opening in Shibuya as well. It set to open in Fall of 2019. It will feature different aspects of the Detective Pikachu movie such as a lifesize Mewtwo in a tube.
Pokemon Quest in China
The third announcement was about Pokémon Quest. The Chinese version was re-revealed following its soft announcement a short time ago. It is to contain PvP and social system integrations.
Pokemon Home
The fourth announcement revealed a new program called Pokémon Home. It appears to be a more social concept of Pokémon Bank, allowing trading between software and hardware, including Pokémon GO, Pokémon Sword and Shield, Pokémon Bank, Pokémon Let’s GO Pikachu and Eevee, and potentially more in the future. It is dubbed “a place where all Pokémon can gather”. It also allows trade features online and with friends straight on mobile.
Pokemon Sleep
Next, the conference continued with a trailer for a new project. It spoke on how Pokémon made walking entertainment and now they were taking the next step to turn sleeping into entertainment. Called Pokémon Sleep, it reportedly uses your sleep patterns to affect gameplay. It set for release in sometime in 2020. Niantic will be working with Nintendo again on this project.
In addition, they announced a new device called the Pokémon GO Plus +. It appears this will be the device used to help train your Pokémon in your sleep, as it appears in the Pokémon Sleep trailer. It can be used as a Pokémon GO Plus for Pokémon GO and works in Pokémon Sleep when put on the bed to attract information about how long you sleep
Sleeping Snorlax in GO
To further promote Pokémon Sleep and to encourage a healthier lifestyle with a healthier sleep schedule, Snorlax will also begin to appear more frequently in Pokémon GO for a short time. Snorlax will also be fallen over in order to promote this new development and it has the move Yawn.
Pokemon Masters
Next, Nintendo announced another new mobile game titled “Pokémon Masters”. It appears to allow for triple battles and includes both Mega Evolution and Z-Moves. Brock, Misty, Lance, and others also appear set to be making appearances in the game. It’ll be launching sometime 2019 on iOS and Android. More details on the game will be revealed in June.
Pokemon Shirts
Pokémon Shirts were also announced. They are set to be released in the US and Europe at a later date.
