The Season of Alola continues into April
The region of Alola has a lot to offer, and there is more to come this month for Pokémon GO players. We have already touched on the timeline of events as well as the recently announced April Community Day and Community Day Classic. Let’s look at everything else that was shown, from Raid Bosses, and Spotlight Hours, to new weekly events.
Pokémon in Raids
Five-Star Raids
Each Pokémon will be around for a short time so be sure to get some Raids in quickly so you don’t miss out. As usual here, any Pokémon denoted with this symbol * has a potential to be shiny.
- Tapu Lele will continue to be in Raids until April 5th
- Therian Forme Thundurus* will be available from April 5th to April 12th
- Tapu Bulu will make it’s Pokemon GO debut from April 12th to April 26th
- Therian Forme Landorus* will be available from April 26th to May 3rd
Mega Raids
- Mega Charizard Y* will continue to be in Raids until April 5th
- Mega Manectric* will join Raids from April 5th to April 12th
- Mega Pidgeot* will be available from April 12th to April 29th
- A mystery Pokémon will be in Raids from April 29th to May 3rd
Raid Hours
As usual these will take place every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
- April 6th: Therian Forme Thundurus*
- April 13th and 20th: Tapu Bulu
- April 27: Therian Forme Landorus*
Spotlight Hours and April’s Research Breakthrough
The Spotlight Hour takes place every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. These hours features a different Pokémon each week along with a bonus. Here is what you can expect this month.
- April 5: Stunky 2× Candy for transferring Pokémon
- April 12: Bunnelby* 2× XP for evolving Pokémon
- April 19: Oddish* 2× Catch Stardust
- April 26: Sunshine Form Cherrim 2× Catch XP
Beginning on Friday, April 1st at 1:00 p.m. PDT and running to May 1st at 1:00 p.m. PDT you will find Alolan Marowak as the Research Breakthrough reward for collecting seven Field Research stamps. And if you were wondering, yes, it can be shiny!
Upcoming Events This April
- April Fools’ 2-Oh?-22: Could this be a trick? something mysterious will be happening on April 1st.
- All-Hands Rocket Retreat: Team GO Rocket will be out in full force during April 3rd to April 7th
- Spring into Spring: From April 12th to April 18th a spring themed event will be taking place.
- Sustainability Week: From April 20th to April 25th, another Pokémon originally discovered in the Alola region will make its Pokémon GO debut!
April is shaping up to be a month full of new Pokémon and new things to do. By the way, if you play on an Android device, a new feature is coming your way.
Adventure Sync Widget will allow you to see when your eggs are ready to hatch without needing to open up Pokémon GO. iOS users have had this feature for a little while now, so it’s nice to see that Android users will also be able to enjoy this quality of life update.
