The following article will revolve around Victini, the Victory Pokemon. Victini is known to guarantee victory to the Trainer who own it. Victini is also overflowing with energy and also capable of sharing it to other creatures.

The following myth is about the birth of Victini and why it is associated with victory.

During the olden days, people held a tournament of games and sports. The best players fight with each other to weed out the best of the best. Sportsmanship prevailed to the players and excitement flowed within the spectators. It was an event that everyone was looking for, even if it only happens every four years.

The tournament starts with a grand entrance. Runners are positioned for a relay run on the track. The first runner runs fast while holding a flaming torch that will never be blown away by the wind. The torch is passed to the next runner, until the last one reaches a big bowl for the bonfire. The bonfire bowl consists of easy-to-burn objects like hay or dead leaves, fruits and vegetables as offerings, and a live animal as a sacrifice.

That one event, the bowl consisted of apples and a pure white rabbit. The ceremony continued as follows, until the bonfire was lit up. At first, it burned like a bonfire should, but it glowed even brighter by the second, until it blinded everybody. When the light died out, a mysterious rabbit-like creature came out from the flames. It was small and with large, pointed ears which formed the letter V. It had large, blue eyes and a round, cream head, which is comparatively large compared to its small, cream body, while the tops of its ears, crest, and extremities are all orange. That coloration reminded the people of apples. Its arms and legs are rounded and endedwith small, three-fingered hands and two-toed feet. It had two pointed teeth that can be seen on its upper jaw. It also has two cream winglike tails, which allowed it to fly while looking like it was actually floating.

The creature looked at the people who were currently in shock. Then, it spread its arms, and visible yellow-orange energy flowed from it. The energy went to the people, especially the players. After that, the creature teleported, another set of yellow-orange energy enveloping it.

Victini is the god of victory. Whichever person he chooses will succeed in life. Sports players blessed by Victini’s energies will win in the respective fields. Blessed entrepreneurs will get rich. Basically, any person or Pokemon blessed by Victini will be happy in life. But then, he limits the blessings so that one won’t overflow with it. The drawback is, following the victory and blessings will ensure something bad to happen. Small blessings will only cause small misfortunes. Big blessings, however, will be highly dangerous, if not risky.

Along with victory, Victini is also the god of luck. With this, he will always win at games of luck. To counteract his luck, the Council of the Hall of Origin (the law enforcers of Legendary Pokemon, as headed by Arceus) have placed a decree stating that he is not allowed to attend to events that require luck. In other words, Victini cannot participate in casinos and lotteries. This doesn’t mean that he cannot have them for his own. He currently owns the casino where Legendary Pokemon and select other Pokemon go to unwind and push their luck.

Guide Questions:

1. What do you think are Victini’s other domains?

2. What would happen if Victini was allowed to participate in luck-based events?

3. Why did the Council decided to not allow Victini to such events?

4. Why do Victini’s blessings have a negative counteraction?
