Pokemon Release Statement Regarding Art Contest

Art Contest
Some updates regarding the latest Pokemon TCG art contest.

Last week, Pokemon realize the top 300 finalist from the Pokemon TCG Illustration Contest 2024. Plenty of artists submitted their submissions in hopes to be featured and ultimately have their Pokemon art shown on a card. Many artist were happy and excited that they made the top 300. Though, there were some issues regarding some submissions that made the top 300.

Issues Regarding Top 300

There were two issues that some fans notice within the top 300 finalists.

The first issue among the top 300 finalists was that AI Art submissions were found. AI Art has been a hot topic among the artist community for many reasons. So it was a shock that some AI Art made it into the final 300.

The second issue that was found within the top 300 finalist was the fact that some people have submitted multiple pieces beyond the limit. One artist submitted past the limit using different pennames. It also didn’t help that some of their submissions also used AI Art.

Pokemon’s Response

Today, Pokemon has issued a response regarding the top 300 finalists. Below is the response.

It sounds as if Pokemon has been made aware of some issues regarding select entries and will be taking actions. These actions will involve disqualification from the Illustration Contest.

At this time, it is unsure what violations Pokemon is talking about regarding the Illustration Contest. Though we hope it is regarding the AI Art and the multiple submissions under different names.

Lastly, Pokemon has announced that they will be selecting additional artists to be among the top 300.

We hope to see the above issues addressed and new top 300 finalist soon.
