That is because there is going to be a cat featured in January’s Community Day. Sprigatito!
Event Details
This event will run on Sunday, January 5th, 2025 from 2PM to 5PM local time. It was also reveal that the special bonus will be 3x Catch Stardust and 2x Catch Candy bonus along with three hour Incense and Lure Modules. Full details for the event can be found by clicking here.
There will be also plenty of Sprigatito for trainers to catch in the wild. This will give trainers the chance to catch Shiny Sprigatito. If you evolve your Floragato into Meowscarada then it will learn the Charged Attack, Frenzy Plant! You will have up to five hours after Community Day to do this.
Also, starting with the event Meowscarada can learn the new Charged Attack, Flower Trick.

- Stay tuned for when tickets for the Special Research story go live.
- Don’t forget: you’re now able to purchase and gift tickets to any of your friends that you’ve achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with.* To gift a ticket, tap the Special Research ticket in the in-game shop, then tap the Gift button instead of the Buy button.

- Trades made during the event and five hours after the event will require 50% less Stardust.
Special Note
New starting this January Community Day is a series of new free Timed Research, paid Special Research and rare Field Research.
If you find and complete any of these Research tasks then you can have a chance in getting season-exclusive Spacial Background for the featured Community Day Pokemon.
Please note for any Timed Research tasks that you do will now last for one week following the event. That means any Timed Research for Sprigatito needs to be completed by Sunday, January 12th.
