On July 20th the Spotlight will shine on, Squirtle, the Tiny Turtle Pokémon. To fully prepare you for this hour long weekly event, let’s go on a journey to discover everything we can about this Water Type Pokémon.
About Squirtle
Squirtle is 1’08” and weighs 19.8 lbs. Much like it’s evolution, Wartortle, its tail is a reference to Japanese legends of the minogame, a turtle which lived for 10,000 years and grew a tail made of seaweed.
It’s name is derived from squirt and turtle.
In Pokémon GO
Squirtle, in its base stage, has it’s strongest moveset in Bubble & Aqua Tail and it has a Max CP of 946. It’s final stage, Blastoise has it’s strongest moveset in Water Gun & Hydro Cannon and it has a Max CP of 2,466.
The Shiny form of Squirtle was released July 8th, 2018 for Squirtle Community Day. This event also featured Squirtle wearing sunglasses.
Tips for Spotlight Hour
This Spotlight hour, which runs form 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time will also feature 2x the Candy for transferring Pokémon. If you have been waiting to transfer all those Pokémon you’ve caught since the last double candy transfer event, now is your time to do so.
