Surf’s Up in UltraSun and UltraMoon!

A new trailer for UltraSun and UltraMoon has been released!

Several new features have been revealed for these upcoming games. For starters, Alola’s Island Trials make a return, with some looking familiar, such as the Luranris cut scene, while others, like the path of sudowoodo do not. In addition, Mina, the fairy trial captain we briefly met in Sun and Moon, now has a trial as well.

Footage has been shown that reveals Hau and Lillie will be making a return in these games. Lillie is shown to be in her Z-Powered form from Sun and Moon, and it appears that the two of them will be able to assist you during certain Island Trials.

More than 400 pokémon are set to appear in Alola. In the US trailer, fans are able to see Tropius, Larvesta, Zorua, Mareep, Larvitar, as well as Houndoom and Manectric. It was also revealed in this trailer that Manectric is exclusive to UltraMoon and Houndoom is exclusive to UltraSun. Through the Alola Photo Club pictures, we are also able to see that Drowsee and Inkay are also available. The Japanese Trailer also shows Volcarona, Tyranitar, Dedenne, and Heracross.

New footage has been shown surrounding the Alola Photo club. This footage confirms the theory that the mysterious building from last game is the Alola Photo Club, and seems to indicate that players will be able to access it very early on, as the United States very of the trailer shows the player taking pictures with a Rowlet.

Finally, a new ride Pokémon has been revealed, Mantine Surf. Akin to Soaring from Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Mantine can be used to surf between islands. Players can do tricks on the waves and earn points, though what these points are for is not known yet. It also appears that 3D models will be used for wild encounters rather than just random encounters, similar to the birds in Soaring. Currently, only the Japanese trailer gives a good shot of two of the 3D models, revealing that Tentacool and Sharpedo populate the areas between the islands.

In addition, Takara Tomy have posted information about figures releasing of the upcoming forms of Necrozma, the Dusk Mane Necrozma and the Dawn Wings Necrozma. With this, they have inadvertently revealed that Necrozma is to keep the types of Solgaleo and Lunala, becoming Psychic/Steel and Psychic/Ghost type in the respective forms. It also revealed the height and weight of these forms. Dusk Mane Necrozma is 3.8m tall but weighs 460kg, twice that of Solgaleo while Dawn Wings Necrozma is 4.0m and weighs 350kg, an increase of 230 on Lunala. As this is a merchandise leak, it’s currently not 100% but is a likely indicator of future types
